I am wildly curious and infinitely fascinated by the world in which we coexist. There is not a single ideology or way of life that I could or would ever subscribe myself to. I deplore ignorance yet realise that I am privileged to be able to wrestle with enlightened schools of thought, barely ever feeling as if I’ve even begun understanding any one of them yet pretending all the same. Little by little though, I progress and move forward, taking in the essential elements and eliminating the rest. I am drawn to people who have grappled with their thoughts and struggles in response to the world as they have perceived it, forming an array of enlightened points of view that, if communicated with care and caution, set about combatting ignorance and self-absorption. People who are open minded, who can maturely explain their opinions, yet are not dogmatic and would never think of expressing those opinions as truths. I love watching people, I see their kindness, their pain, their curiosity, their experience, their loneliness, their anxieties, their depression, the goodness inside of them. I am always searching, seeking and trying to understand myself and the people around me. I believe I know who God is, a question I long struggled with. I am drawn to the aesthetic beauty that is gifted to us through the thoughts, designs and creations of others who have committed themselves to expressing and doing the ordinary, extraordinarily. I am motivated by the incredible feeling of meeting short term goals, on the way to living my life to the fullest of my potential. I am motivated by the sense of accomplishment that one gets from achieving what was once physically or mentally impossible. At my best I am a role model, leadership is simply creating a community of norms where we as people, as social animals, feel comfortable to be or are lead to do better. I fear letting myself down, letting those I love down, I fear settling, giving into the, “that’s just the way it is” mindset, I love my fears, they nourish my drive. Live your life and burn with an infectious energy, stoke that internal flame, maintain your ecstasy and infectious energy and you will attract all the good in the world. All I ask is that you live, within this one lifetime, all the lifetimes you can. The things that excite you are not random, they are connected to your purpose, follow them with unbounded intuition and curiosity...
please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.
