Since it is finally posted I can share the panel I made for @porrim-maryam‘s [S]uburbs!

This was a lot of fun and so awesome to see the final product!

After over a month of hard work and over 70 contributors, [S]uburbs is finally finished.

I started this project on 4/13, when I was sitting crying over Homestuck ending. I have always wanted to be part of something bigger in this fandom, to make my mark. I figured, why not a lyricstuck?

I would never have gotten this idea if not for the Beforus album, where I made some track art. Seeing the mods doing this just for fun, because they wanted to was a huge inspiration. And then came the Whisper lyricstuck, a collab of 13 artists. Without these two projects, [S]uburbs would never have happened.

Starting this project, I had no idea I would end up with 72(!!) contibutors. A huge number of artists were due to @toastyhat reblogging my post (special thanks) and I am still blown away.

Since I got into this fandom, I have always been awestuck by how much we can create! Differences are celebrated. Artists, animators, musicians, cosplayers… I have never been in a fandom where everyone is so welcome and so joyous about their craft. I wanted to celebrate that. This project is as much a homage to the fandom as it is to Homestuck. Regardless of skill level and how famous you are, I wanted everyone to be able to join. 

And everyone got to join. Some people dropped out, some were recruited by me, but now here we are. I get teary-eyed just thinking about it. To think that my tiny, silly idea would become this. Over 70 artists, many of whom only draw on commission, not only joined but even told me to let them know if I needed more help, if there were any necessary changes… It may sound silly, but it’s completely unbelievable to me. I am so humbled.

This project has been very stressful at times; I have been the only mod and so, managing all artists, “storyboarding” the lyrics, managing deadlines, allocating and editing the video/post has been all on me. But I don’t regret it for a second.

[S]uburbs would never have happened if not for you kind, skilled, amazing people. What we have created is something beautiful and it will be close to my heart forever. I love you all. Thank you.

You guys, I reblogged this 2 days ago out of desperation. Today I was looking through my old wallet for coins to go to the vending machine because that’s all I can fucking afford. I haven’t touched this thing since July/ August. When I found a disappointing 15 cents in the coin pocket I went to the billfold to see if any coins were in there. That’s when I saw them. 5 crisp bills amounting to $22. I literally screamed and danced around my room out of joy before remembering that I’d reblogged this post.

Replaying Inquisition and overcome with Varric feels.

Like, whatever you do, don’t think about how kind he is, or how much he cares about people. I don’t see him described that way often, but look - 

He helps Fenris keep the mansion. He spends “a fortune” paying off street gangs so Merrill can walk alone at night. After all the shit in Kirkwall, he buddies up to Cullen because he thinks he’s too serious for his own health. He actually takes the time to ask a fledgling Inquisitor how they’re doing, when everyone else is shovelling responsibility on them. He tells quizzy that he wouldn’t he as good a spy master as Leliana because he worries too much about his agents and can’t help getting involved in their lives.

Definitely don’t think about the way he talks about Anders and the way things went down in Kirkwall. Don’t think about how hurt he sounds, or how he’s probably still shaken up about it. Don’t think about the fact even though he’s hurt and shaken up he’s still the only one to ask Quizzy how s/he’s doing.

And don’t forget about how he fronts like he’s a self-centered hedonist and then puts himself last and suffers in silence over and over again and just keeps helping people.  How he never talks about Bianca, barely talks about Bartrand or his parents, hardly talks about a lost Hawke even, but keeps his pain to himself and just soldiers on quietly and only ever complains about superficial things.  How he dug in and put Kirkwall back together with his own money and hardly talks about it.

I love Varric so so much.
