Just watched Hunchback again and I realized that during the climax of the film, when Frollo is swinging after Quasi and Esmeralda with a sword, he has a cape

He's never had a cape with his outfit at any other time

i wonder at what point the error got introduced. concept art? storyboards? rough sketch? were there different people working on the pre-balcony and balcony scenes? it seems to me that including the cloak from the start of the execution wouldn't have created logistical problems or messed with the legibility of his silhouette—in fact, it could've looked even more striking with that thing flowing behind him in the cold night(?) air and/or the displacement of air when the fire starts. but what do i know. and in a way it's comforting to know that my annoyance can never compare to the tens or maybe hundreds of people who had to painstakingly draw, color, shade, and edit it knowing about the error the whole time and helpless to change it because there's no more time or money for revisions because every big budget animation project is an eldritch creature of inertia
