This is my day and night toner I use. I used to just use witch hazel but after research, adding apple cider vinegar was a must! This recipe makes my skin bump free and smooth. Always follow up with a nice moisturizer such as; cold pressed organic olive oil or organic unfiltered/cold pressed coconut oil, etc. About the Ingredients: Apple cider vinegar contains gentle exfoliating acids that work hard to calm acne. Thesealpha hydroxy acids help remove dead skin cells and reveal a fresher and healthier complexion. Many expensive commercial face washes go on about the tiny amounts of alpha hydroxy acids they’ve added to their products — but ACV is full of far higher levels, of which are alive and ready to revive your skin! During the creation of ACV, substances such as malic acid are formed (the naturally occurring acid in apples), which give ACV antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral properties and help prevent acne/skin infections. On top of all this, not only does it effectively remove excess oil from your skin; it also helps to balance pH levels and can prevent your skin from becoming too oily or too dry in the future by balancing the production of sebum. Apple Cider Vinegar in this toner is all about maintaining the pH of the skin. Our skin is naturally at a pH of 5.5 or lower (slightly acidic). Soap is very alkaline and will disrupt the pH of the skin, but it has been shown that even normal tap water can change the pH of our skin! Using ACV in the toner adds more acid to the skin, to bring it closer to the ideal skin pH. Witch Hazel on the other hand helps to tighten pores and dramatically reduces inflammation. High concentrations of tannins in witch hazel make it an excellent astringent, especially useful for those of us living near cities who are exposed to environmental pollution. Adding witch hazel will tighten and tone your skin which is a great addition for slightly greasy, large-pored complexions!Witch Hazel is a cooling, anti-inflammatory and astringent (toning & tightening) plant.
