(From Shadow) “Don’t look at me like that. I don’t want your pity.”

Her arms folded as she leered down at the crumpled hedgehog. A roll of her eyes following after as she rounded to his front, crouching down before him. She was giving him a look, probably a look he could decipher to say. Don’t be an idiot.

A first-aid kit was produced from her side, opening the little case and preparing the necessary materials. “Don’t try to act like a tough guy all the time.” Rouge scolded, emerald hues briefly flickering from the black hedgehog to the contents of the first aid kit. “You can either accept my help, or I’ll force it on you. And trust me, I will sit you down and baby you if I have to.” 

A bundle of gauze was now held in one hand, and antiseptic in the other. 

“Are you going to play nice or are we going to have to get rough, Shadow?”

“That’s a pretty nasty bruise. Want some ice?” Doctor Charmy is in the house.

The bat stared at the other, like the very offer itself was the most vile thing she had ever heard. She felt her lip twitch, eyes closing as she mulled it over. Ugh. Accepting help was such a pain.. And from someone like Charmy? Maybe it would be best if she just flew away and didn’t look back. The bruise was bad enough--a nice dark circle that covered those already eyeshadow drenched lids. 

Yeah, she earned herself a nice black eye. 

“..Fine, whatever. Give it to me.” Not sounding grateful for the kind gesture whatsoever, she simply extended her hand towards the bee in a ‘gimme gimme’ sort of gesture.

“I’m going to pick you up now, okay? Just hold on to me."

Rouge wrinkled her nose and bared her fangs at the other. Obviously not keen on letting the other help her up. Sure, she was in a bind but she wasn’t one to give up so easily! Stubborn as ever.. Her leg being injured from an unfortunate stray shot from a badnik--it was fine, she would be fine. In fact-- 

“Listen, I get you want to help but I don’t need you to play hero for me.”

The venom in her words were heavy, not willing to accept the much needed assistance without a fuss. She even tried to put weight on the injury, but.. That just had her falling back to the ground. Feeling flustered, agitated, she beat one fist into the soft dirt. 

Finally, she looked up to Arrow. 

“You breathe a word of this to anyone, I will find you.”

“You’re dripping blood on the carpet.” “When I said scars are kinda sexy, I didn’t mean you should get one right away…” “Press that against the wound, I’m going to get the med kit.” “It’s bleeding quite badly.” “Oh God, what happened to you?!” “You’re covered in blood! Is it yours?” “Your head looks pretty bad. I’m sure it’ll need stitches.” “It’s going to hurt for a moment, but I’ll need to clean the wound.” “I’m so sorry this happened to you. But you’re safe now.” “That’s a pretty nasty bruise. Want some ice?” “Does it still hurt?” “I don’t think a band aid is gonna fix this…” “Whoa, hey, stay with me! You’re as white as a ghost. Don’t pass out.” “Damn, that must hurt. I’m sure there are some painkillers around here.” “You have to be seen by a doctor. This isn’t going to heal on its own.” “It looks broken. Can you move it at all?” “Here, lean on me. I’ll support you.” “I’m not going to leave you behind. If need be, I’ll carry you.” “I’m going to pick you up now, okay? Just hold on to me.” “Everything is going to be okay. Just hang in there.”

“I don’t feel so good.” “It’s seeping through the bandages.” “My head is throbbing. I think I have a concussion.” “I can barely breathe, it hurts so bad!” “It looks worse than it is. I’m sure it’ll be gone in a couple of days…” “You should see the other one.” “Don’t look at me like that. I don’t want your pity.” “It was my fault, really. I wasn’t paying attention and got hit in the face.” “Getting stabbed wasn’t really on my bucket list.” “I don’t think I can walk.” “Leave me behind, please. I’m just going to slow you down.” “Am I going to die?” “I can’t stop the bleeding.” “I think the bruise matches my eye color.” “Don’t touch it, please! It hurts.” “I don’t want to go to a hospital. I hate doctors!”

Both ears perked up high and he turned to see who was calling him. Oh! Miss Rouge! He immediately put his little notebook back in his bag to give her his full attention, putting his hands in his coat pockets.

“Of course! What did you need, Miss Rouge?”

He’d always be willing to help, after all!

From behind her back, she pulled out.. A jar. It was just a jar of peaches, nothing special. But.. The bat offering it up to him. “You can use your powers to open this, right?” She couldn’t open it herself? Apparently not. In fact, she had went out of her way to find Silver for such an occasion. Either, A. She didn’t want to ask anyone else she knew, or B. She was deathly curious of how he could use his powers to open up a jar. 

Either way, it was frankly silly.

If there was one thing Rouge would never get used to, it was the high population of hedgehogs she was destined to hang around with. Not to mention they were all the colors under the sun.. Black and red, blue, pink, silver and.. As the bat glided over head, minding her own business--she couldn’t help but spot another hedgehog. Her weight shifted mid-air as she slowed her flight, sharp eyes narrowing downwards at the wandering green dot on her radar. Her ears giving a distinct twitch. Huh, time to add to the collection of hedgehogs she knew. 

Not that Rouge was one to go out of her way for just anyone either, but.. Curiosity got the better of her. Besides? He kind of looked like the blue blur that she often hung around with. Something about the quill shape had her feeling some type of way--

The bat made contact with the soft grassy terrain beneath her, her boots padding across the ground as she whistled sharply towards the other. “Hey there.” This felt weird, usually not the one to make first contact.. Eeeugh, being social and friendly? Totally gross. Now she knew why Shadow liked to keep to himself.. “Don’t mean to intrude, but you look quite a bit like someone I know..”

Truthfully, Rouge didn’t get to interact often with Silver. Whether it was because the timing was wrong or just lack of interest in general... It was unknown. Spending a lot of time doing her own thing, lone wolfing it for Rouge was pretty common. So, going out of her way to seek out the future hedgehog was a little out of her usual comfort zone, but nothing she couldn’t handle. The task was simple, get Silver to do exactly what she wanted him to do. It wasn’t anything terribly awful, or manipulative of her, ohhh no.. In fact, the request was rather silly of all things. And that was to be seen--

Finding Silver was the hard part, but once she had her in her sights she moved fast. Descending from the sky and landing behind him. The ‘click’ of her boots sounding as she neared him. “Oi, Silver.” She called out to him, “I need a favor.”
