Went out with the og squad to the beach just like back in hs (:

It was a lot of fun and really weird to see how far we’ve come in life. I think we’ve all completed our undergrad for college (unless Chris decides to go back), but really weird to see the shift in our lives; once we were teens with no job, no real stress, and also no really intense heartbreak or craziness. Whereas now, there’s a lot that we’ve all faced in our adulthood, that’s definitely hit us, pushed us to the ground, and life just happened.

I’m really proud of us and how we’ve all turned out to be (currently) I kno we still have the rest of our lives lol, but it is really amazing to see how we’re deciding to give back to the community around us and grow more in the relationships around us. I wish the whole squad, I think our SF crew was together that weekend- Quack, Dav, Ben, Hannah, and Bridger too

Haven’t gotten out and taken pictures in awhile, so enjoy this picture from a couple of weeks ago! Got to go to my favourite bakery/ patisserie in downtown Mountain View! And got to hang with Ms. JoJo!

She’s hilarious, fierce, stylish, funny, aesthetic.

She’s straight forward, a voice for anyone who can’t speak up, and has taught me soooo much. And she’s an amazing cook and baker! Y’all need a Jozy in your life, good luck finding one as amazing as her.

I had a great time hanging out and catching up! And eating these BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS macarons (earl grey, passion fruit, lemon poppy seed, guava, and another earl grey). Earl Grey’s my favourite by FAR!

It’s now the end of January and my birthday is in two weeks. I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m trying to do something with my roommates! And with figuring that out, I’m currently in the process of figuring out my car. She’s done for...so I’m figuring out if I can save up and purchase a new car, or if I just need to focus on saving up period.

Growing up definitely is hard and sucks at times. There’s a LOT more freedom, which was always something I wanted growing up (LOL, I was always angry my mum was holding me back). But now that I’m out here, yeah, it’s difficult. And budgeting is not my strong suit, so I have a lot of kinks to iron out and work on and grow in.

2018 man. My year to groooow. The messy year. Gosh this is gonna be a wild year.

The sunset of my favourite day of the year so far: January 6, 2018. ••• A crazy three-year planning process put into action--the first annual Mark Madden Memorial Wrestling Tournament---a major success, I literally have no words about how it turned out other than it was so so so amazing and I definitely have a new found love and respect for the sport. Aaand ended the day with two of my favourite people getting engaged over here 😊 ••• The year is kicking off in one of the most memorable ways yet #staytuned2018 (at Shoreline Park & Lake)

Thanksgiving Day was quiet most of the day until my oldest brother and sister-in-law arrived.

Which wasn’t bad, but growing up I celebrated most holidays around my huge, loud, extended family…so loud and crazy is something I am used to and actually rather fond of.

We didn’t cook this year, mostly because of mum; we went simple and ordered our meal from the store.

I think I took this after we just ate and she was watching one of her many documentaries lol…I’m pretty sure she would absolutely hate me and kill me for posting pictures, but no one knows about this blog still, sooo I think I’m good for now.

She’s responding to her treatments better and that is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders, but I think there will always be a general fear and anxiety always circulating, until I know she’s in the clear…but even after, she’s gonna have to be monitored for the rest of her life…and my siblings and I will have to take stock of our own health as well.

This week I just realized regarding mum, I’ve been hyper-focused on checking in on how she’s feeling and handling chemo, that I’ve forgotten about her life as a person…and trying to work on remembering she’s living and doing her own thing beyond her chemo…

And sometimes I can feel disconnected from her, or unsure how to reach out and talk, just about life stuff…idk there’s way more there, but here’s this for now

D I S R U P T I O N /disˈrəpSH(ə)n/ (n):  disturbance or problems that interrupt an event, activity, or process

A disruption was caused in my life on Sunday May 28, 2017, roughly before 6pm. I found out my mum had been diagnosed with breast cancer in her left breast

And I was told almost an entire month after she really found out and told my siblings. Harsh, but understandable (I was in the middle of school, midterms, exams; I graduated this year). Still sucked.

My life has taken an uncharacteristic turn…I’m still figuring how to navigate how I feel and what I’m supposed to do…it’s absolutely devastating to see my mum (but I think anyone you look up to; hold in high regard) be broken down by chemo. Which is technically treating the cancer, but in the process destroying her body.

My mum is an independent, opinionated, strong-willed, caring, strong, proud, determined, and so much more. She started crying last night when I was initially leaving…I don’t completely know why, she wouldn’t say, but I’m pretty sure it was a combination of how much pain she was in, loneliness, depressed, and miserable. Other feelings probably…and it was pretty heartbreaking…I’m still processing my feelings, but it sucks that there’s nothing I can physically do to help take away her pain and make her feel better…

I’m big on if there’s something I can physically do to help change or make a situation better, I will most likely do it (within reason). But yeah, there’s really nothing I can do (except pray, which I underestimate time and time again), but even then that’s just using words…I’m still not taking physical action, so I think a lot of the time, it’s useless.

My brain is going fuzzy…I can’t seem to think of anything else to say, so that’s all for now…I don’t know where this blog will go, but I know I initially started it for my photography, so I’ll post a little something.
