it’s lizzie’s birthday. i have work today. throat is healed mostly so i’ll be trying to get back to writing this weekend.

i’m also having major ‘the outsiders’ brain rot because an old oc of mine has decided she wants attention so might make a blog for her.

fingers fidget impatiently with the silver bracelets curled around her wrist as she resists the urge to crane her head. ❝ i really don't think that's necessary, i can sort it.❞ despite the tight ponytail in which she'd bound her long dark tresses, the breeze has whipped her hair into a tangled mess, one which she had tried dealing with herself before elizabeth had intervened.

her impatience and characteristic inclination towards taking care of her own problems, whether they be trivial or significant, leads her to pull away and use her own fingers to try and tease out some of the tangles in her hair. ❝  it's never quite as bad as it looks. ❞ as if to emphasize her insistent determination, she tugs the hair band loose and lets her hair fall over her shoulders in an unruly waterfall.

❝  but i appreciate you trying to help. ❞ aurelia reluctantly concedes as she fastens her hair into a half-hearted attempt at a bun.

unlike aurelia - elizabeth is patient. years of tending to gardens - both in the cold, darkness of the underground realm of the dead and in her grandfather's memorial gardens. patience taught by waiting. attempting to bathe the hellhounds was a lesson in keeping composed when things did not go as expected. she'd simply seen aurelia trying to untangle her hair and despite herself - stepped in to help without being asked too. she had managed to get a few tangles out before the other pulled away. the witch took a step back to give the other some breathing room.

❝ i don't mind helping - you have a rats' nest in the back, hidden underneath. it is as bad as it looks. hiding it in updo styles only makes it worse. ❞ her own hair had its tangles, but she'd gotten better at managing it on her own. it also made her aware of how used to others - to persephone - doing her hair.

❝ i believe i have a few products in my room that might be of some help. i can get them for you - if you'd like. you can keep them - i can always make more. ❞

Apparently she'd shuttered more than she realized, what with the way that Elizabeth pulled her hands back. In a way it was a relief of sorts, but on there was a small part of Mellie that felt guilty. Though, was there really any helping the situation? Not really. Not when the death witch was physically so cold. Yet on the other hand, it wasn't like it was her fault either; just more or less one of those things, better left dropped.

"Good, and if you want, please let me know what he says on the matter." Her own ivy green eyes, glance upwards as well. She knew full the source of that thunder, how unnatural and booming it sounded. Though her gaze returns to Elizabeth once more, "You have my word and gettin' Mel's shouldn't be hard."

she certainly wasn't sure how this conversation would go - she's heard horror stories from other demigods about how mortals brushed them off as insane for claiming that one of their parents is a literal greek deity - or simply thought they were joking. given that mellie is a witch - elizabeth could only hope that her odds of that happening were slim to none.

❝ i'm sure you've noticed that i reference and speak often about the GREEK PANTHEON. ❞ she refuses to acknowledge the term mythology. ❝ about the underworld. about HADES. i'm not just a DEATH WITCH. i'm actually hades' DAUGHTER. a demigod. i was raised in the underworld from the time i was seven until about seventeen. ❞

❝ how does one simply forget to eat ? ❞ hades frowned slightly, more to himself than to her. truth be told, food had never been a necessity for him, time and again he forgot such things himself. but that did not make it any less troubling when it came to her. the neglect in the way she spoke of it unsettled him far more than he cared to admit. crimson eyes fixed on her, firm now, unmistakably so. ❝ well then, it seems i'll have to take you out for lunch. ❞ there was no anger in his voice when he spoke. ❝ and no, i'm not taking no for an answer. ❞

elizabeth holds her breath - cheeks puffed out a little and shrugs. she audibly exhales. food only ever became a thought when she started to get dizzy or hunger pains kept her from focusing. growing up with her mother or in group homes - food was scarce. almira too focused on trying to rid the darkness from elizabeth to spending all their money on false ways to cure her. the group homes often too overcrowded with kids and elizabeth simply preferred for the younger ones fill their bellies first - very little to nothing was often left behind. ❝ i don't think about it. ❞ is the only answer she gives.

the pen is finally laid down - her chair moved backwards and she stands to face him. ❝ i'm not arguing with free food. i'm down for anywhere as long as they have some vegan options. ❞

stza should never be surprised when elizabeth did things like this. especially as their relationship moved forward into things more public. even so, in front of court and other knights and the extended royal family at this party, she sat down right into his laps and, by proxy, his arms. the vampiric knight's breath caught and his arms, while still holding her, stiffened. "your majesty. this...seems like a dubious idea."

did she think about what others would think or say BEFOREHAND. yes. the princess simply just did not care about the opinions of others - especially opinions from the countless potential suitors that came to the party. she's merely finding comfort in his arms and making a STATEMENT. the princess chose the KNIGHT over nobility

elizabeth adjust herself on his lap - her back resting against the right side of his chest and shoulder. she merely smirks at his comment. ❝ NO - my feet are hurting and there simply aren't any chairs available. ❞ one glance around the grand hall would reveal that plenty of seating options were available.

" What look ? " Backbiter's metal hilt chilled his hand where he kept a firm grip on it. Hades neutrality meant he had no reason to send her away from his camp. More, it was at Kronos own suggestion they let her wander not wanting to miss the benefits of her powers. He felt it was any day that Hades own grudge against his siblings would win over any loyalty to the pantheon. Or better, she would turn redcoat and abandon Hades for some power of her own.

But Luke did not trust her. He did not trust anyone who voiced anything but a disavowing of the gods. The fact she still clung to her father's house said enough for him.

" I am just asking if you would want another tour of our camp here ? " His tone was mock cheer leaning towards her with a warm smile. His arm even held his waist as he bent forward, a subtle bow.

she tilts her head - onyx curls casting a shadow of her face. ❝ THAT LOOK that you get when you're having an internal argument with yourself - or listening to someone. like you aren't sure about it and you're second guessing your next move. ❞ she took notice of how his grip on backbiter hasn't loosen since her arrival - while her own weapons remained concealed. one wrong word spoken or step - this could end badly for them both.

her loyalty remains firm to her father - despite her belief in luke's own cause. demigods DESERVE better - to not be treated like expendable soldiers for their DIVINE parent or simply ignored. luke's RIGHT in the manner that the system needs to be broken - to rebuild with something more HONEST. elizabeth knows the one to rebuild won't be KRONOS. it should be and if everything goes according to her plan - will be HADES.

elizabeth smiles - stepping closer to him before mirroring his subtle bow. her voice low, ❝ i would LOVE a tour. perhaps - we could even discuss how i can help YOUR cause. ❞

"you say that like it's something i'm doing on purpose," bellamy sighed, flinching once more as the other worked. even so, he did try and not do that as much. even if it hurt like hell. a shiver ran down the witch's spine and she glanced over at elizabeth once more. "greatly appreciate you doing this by the way. healing other people is my forte. not myself."

❝ deep breathes. try not to watch. ❞ elizabeth's hand steady as she cleans the wound. a prepped suture kit waiting beside her. with majority of the blood and grime cleaned away - she could examine it more closely. probably four or five stitches would be needed. ❝ of course. i don't mind - this probably would've cost you a couple thousand if you went to the hospital. luckily for you - i'm a medical examiner with impeccable stitch work so this shouldn't leave much of a scar. ❞
