Discover your authentic self through the lens.Reflections is a deeply personal and visually poetic guide by Brazilian artist and photographe
These images are 35mm self-portraits, later altered with chemicals. I’m interested in letting the image break, stain, and transform, just like the body and the mind do.
This way of working with photography became central to my practice and eventually led me to write Reflections, my eBook about self-portraiture, healing, and experimentation.
Inside, I share how techniques like film manipulation and emulsion lift help me translate emotion into image.

✨ Polaroid Emulsion Lift as a Tool for Self-Discovery
In this video, I’m sharing a Polaroid Emulsion Lift on glass using one of my self-portraits. I love this technique because of its unpredictability, the image literally transforms in your hands.
That’s why I teach this full process step-by-step in my eBook Reflections. Experimenting with image, texture, and form isn’t just creative play, it’s a powerful way to explore who we are beneath the surface.

✨ Berlin on Film — LomoChrome Color ’92 Sun-Kissed ✨
There’s something about Berlin that asks to be photographed in analog. The layers of history, the raw edges, the vibrant colors hidden in unexpected corners, they all feel more alive on film.
Totally recommend this roll it’s my absolute favorite now!
Ashley shot with Fomapan 🖤
Pros of film (Fomapan):
Unique texture and grain that digital can’t replicate.
Tonal richness and depth in black & white.
Forces intentionality — every frame counts.
Timeless, archival quality.
✨
In the quiet intimacy of a hotel room in Lloret de Mar, on the Costa Brava, I captured myself through the lens of my analog camera. I used a Kodak Gold 200 roll, but pushed it to ISO 400, seeking deeper contrast and a more pronounced grain — almost as if the texture became part of my own skin.

Choosing the right lens can transform the way you capture portraits. Each lens has its own personality, offering different looks and styles. Here’s a breakdown of the best lenses for portrait photography and how they can elevate your shots:
1. 24–70mm f/2.8 – The Versatile Storyteller
This is the lens I used during my recent moody portrait session. Its range allows you to go from wide, environmental portraits to tighter, more intimate shots without switching lenses. The f/2.8 aperture also helps create beautiful background separation, adding depth and focus to your subjects.
Best For: Street portraits, lifestyle photography, environmental shots.

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM - Objetivo para Canon (Distancia Focal 24-70mm, Apertura f/2.8-22, Zoom óptico 3X,diámetro: 82mm) Negro : Ama
2. 50mm f/1.8 – The Nifty Fifty
A favorite among photographers for its affordability and sharpness. Its perspective is close to what the human eye sees, making it perfect for natural-looking portraits.
Best For: Everyday portraits, low-light situations, travel photography.
