Meet me where the sky and sea kissed each other! 

Finally got a chance to visit Sangiang Island after hearing about its splendour underwater view from my diver friend. It’s infamous for soft coral – yes, compared to Pahawang or Krakatau spot for snorkelling, Sangiang offered natural soft coral of various shape, colour, and sizes spread over the sea floor! Too bad, I have no picture from the snorkelling session, always prefered to have solitude moment and enjoyed cracklings sounds of the coral reef instead busy taking the underwater picture. Hahaha 😀

    How to Get There

Paku Port is your initial destination! Paku Port is located in Cilegon, Banten. From Jakarta to Paku Port is going to take roughly 3 hours. From Paku Port you may charter a boat that will take you to Sangiang Island which will take another one hour. Yes, honey. Sangiang Island is in the Sunda Strait so your one-hour journey will be filled with strong wind and bumpy boat rides and water splash. Get ready!

Where to Stay

This island is inhabited by 52 families and has not been commercially promoted as a tourism destination, so do not expect glamorous resort or 5-star hotel facility. Electricity will be on after 6 pm. You might find a few guesthouses run by the locals with a minimum facility that suitable for backpackers. As of now (Sept 2018), there’s one package for resort & boat for leisure holiday which gonna cost IDR 18 mio for 2D1N stay. It could be occupied by 15 people. So gather your pax and enjoy Sangiang!
