It might’ve been a dream, she’d supposed, after her initial run in Hive City. All of it—especially any encounters with those of her own universe—was dismissed as little but the musing of her subconscious, and there was no greater proof of this than that when she’d returned to Valm by awakening under the Mila Tree.
This wouldn’t be the first time she was proven wrong.

Tiki’s smile only grew at Nah’s concern. The motions taken to make herself more presentable did not escape her notice—few things ever did.
“Not anything I could not handle.”
Though fully aware of the younger manakete’s abilities (she’d lost count of the battlefields they had shared) Hive City was an entirely different scenario. There was traffic, dangerous creatures, threatening people—those scientists most of all—and the oracle had not so much as scratched the surface regarding the recent event that turned the city on its head.
At this thought Tiki took a somber tone.
“If you have sought me for advice, I cannot offer much.. I apologize, Nah. I trust that you want to return home as soon as possible.” She was, after all, one of the children that had sacrificed everything for the chance at a better future: none of this was a part of that plan.
Tiki took notice of Akira long before he gathered the courage to approach her. While she would be the first to admit that appearances can be deceiving, this young man seemed perfectly mundane: there was little reason to suspect that he had any idea of who or what she truly was be it by her aura or appearance.
The other, simpler conclusion she arrived at was that he had but simply mistaken her for someone else. Returning the gesture, Tiki made her tentative approach after determining he possessed no ill will towards her.
“I do not believe we have met before,”
“Are you in need of my assistance?”

Its not often you get to meet someone with a ridiculously long lifespan that wasn’t created by Maxwell or caused by others trying to pay god. A bit morbid for him, but then again neither has he ever had the pleasure of meeting a dragon or dragon-like race (there were mostly Wyverns in Aselia after all)
So of course he’d be more than a bit surprised at the wise and majestic aura he felt from the younger girl.
“We’ll, its not everyday you see someone who just exudes wisdom.
Is that truly the type of presence she possessed? In Valm, Tiki knew that her status as the last divine dragon was known both far and wide—there was no escaping it. But here, too?
“Is that so? Why do you say that?”
“Truth be told, I have simply lived a little longer than most. That is all.”
These sorts of temperatures brought about far more than discomfort for the manakete: memories of the temple in which she’d spend those crucial years of her life, and of her caretakers, whom she regarded as dear as family.
None but one had made an appearance in this cursed city, and for that Tiki instead had to rely on the kindness of strangers to help her by—strangers such as the gentleman who offered her a beverage from the nearby cart.
“Is this for me? You are very kind,”
“Thank you.”
Before she can so much as lift the cocoa to her lips, the heat seeping through the cup reaches her hands.
“It is very warm. What kind of drink is this?”
Admiring the very same blooms that had attracted Aphrodite’s attention, Tiki’s knowledge of such plants was a largely superficial. Though some bore similarities to those from her own home that she was more familiar with, she would never go as far to assume that they were one in the same but in dire straits.
“Is that so?”
“I suppose there’s no such thing as being too careful.”
Watching as the flowers shifted every so slightly on their own accord, she shook her head.
“It is a shame, as they are quite beautiful.”
Be it by recent happenings or the culmination of events that lead up to Motherlode’s conclusion, Tiki felt a migraine coming on that could only be relieved by a piping hot cup of Say’ri’s tea. That woman was long missing now, though the voice missed her more and more each day.
Still, her curiosity greater than any ailments, the unmistakable presence of dragonkin brought Tiki to her senses and she approached the boy sitting by his lonesome.
“Hello, child,”
“I did not expect to find another manakete here. Tell me, where is it that you are from?”
Even in Ylisse, her kind were few and far between, and at one point or another she had acquainted herself with the majority of them.

Gerome’s words brought an amused smile to her face. Though she had become used to such elevated treatment, even by her peers, Tiki found it largely unnecessary and longed for nothing more than to be viewed as an equal. That’s not to say she was put off—far from it, in fact.
“Fear not, for peace is difficult to come by in these parts,”
“Still, it is always a pleasure to see a familiar face. Have you any need for my assistance, simply say the word.”
Tiki would not be surprised if her words had incited some degree of suspicion. Nevertheless, it was nothing she didn’t hope to rectify; though some of less upstanding morals might be tempted to use such information to stir paranoia and perhaps even manipulate, she had no such inclinations.
“I’ve been around a little longer than most,” she confessed,
“I suppose that I, too, am experiencing similar anxiety. That is why I recognized it..”
The manakete stopped just in time to receive a beep from oncoming traffic, spin on her heel, and rush back toward the sound of the voice that beckoned her so.
This, however, was only a natural response to being nearly struck down by traffic. It is only until she was out of harm’s way that Tiki met the eyes of familiar kin, and her demeanor changed substantially.
“Xane..?” for a brief moment she was but a few thousand years younger.
“Is it really you?” Though she had aged and matured considerably over the years, her opinion of him as a dear friend had not; she’d take a few, tentative steps forward before collapsing on his chest.
“I missed you.. so much..” He’d long since vanished after the war.. to think that it’d be here that they united once again..

“To be honest.. I have been thinking about entering the dungeon that all the city is talking about, as well.”
Though others might have been put off at what could be considered chiding, Tiki found it refreshing to be challenged if not regarded as an equal.
“What makes you so certain that there is no way out?”
“Come to think of it, I heard that there’s no way to truly die in this city. Is that true?” That being said, she wasn’t about to test that theory.
