Hello!! I wanted to make an intro post for my ESSAs, so I’m starting with my two mains, Nico and Cyrus!
Nico is a Douglas border collie! When I bought him I had zero intent of him becoming an essa, since Chase is such a common plush in the community, but I instantly fell in love once he arrived. Nico is based off of a very beloved OC of mine! Cyrus is a Douglas golden retriever, and he is also based off of a very beloved OC.
I would like to add a disclaimer that all throughout my life I’ve used plushies/toys as sort of a vessel for OCs (I grew up with lpstube if that tells you anything lmao). I love assigning my OCs to them in order to give said characters a physical form. Even though the characters are human, I typically pick plushies that fit the general vibe of that character! I treat my essas more like humanish friends than animals if that makes any sense.
Not sure if this is strange, or if anyone else does this with their essas, but I’ve found that it’s how I personally am able to better connect with them! It brings me a lot of comfort. I am sorry if it is strange :,)
Nico and Cyrus are boyfriends, and because of that I pair their plushies together! Nico has a very calm and comforting presence. He makes me feel less alone and his soft fur is very comforting. I love to take him with me on walks around my apartment complex. I also love taking Cyrus on walks! I like to believe that, while he prefers to stay home since he’s a tad bit scared of being in public, he is willing to push through so we can be a tad bit scared together. Nico also brings Cyrus comfort, so Cyrus prefers they go out together. I am. So emotionally attached to these silly little plushies you have no idea.
I also like to buy them clothes that fit the vibes of the OCs! Cyrus tends to dress more fem (as do I), and Nico typically dresses kinda cozy.
They are my sons and I love them so much. I recently got their ID tags, so I’ll feel more comfy taking them out with me!
