Let’s go boys!
The second leg of the UEFA qualifiers will be played tonight against St. Johnstone in McDiarmid Park, Perth, Scotland. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw with many missed chances from Galatasaray.
An 89th minute Penalty by Mostafa Mohamed secured Galatasaray the 3 points needed to stay on top. The snowy conditions made the game extremely hard for players on both sides. 51st minute mistake by Muslera leveled the game up with no hopes of either team scoring. Terim used all 5 substitutions which changed the dynamics of the game that eventually led to Onyekuru getting tripped inside the box by Taskiran in the 87th minute. Mohamed capitalized on the opportunity, ending the game shortly after. One notable charge from Terim was Falcao being left out of the squad. Will this be the end of his career?

New transfer alert 🚨
De Andre Yedlin, the 27 year old has joined Galatasaray on a three and a half year loan with option to buy from Newcastle. The right back has been in the premier league since 2015; playing for Tottenham, Sunderland and Newcastle.
3 for 3 and the season is off to a great start. Playing last seasons champions this early in the season proved just how deep the bench is for this year. With substitutes such as Diagne, Emre Akbaba, Ömer Bayram and Ryan Donk, the team looks ready to handle the extra 3 league games this year along with the Europa League.
Some notable performances today included Luyindama, who has recently recovered from a months long injury after suffering a torn ACL from the international game back in November of last year. Belhanda also performed well, even made some crucial tackles in our own half of the field. Many cleared chances were missed by Diagne, after getting subbed in for Falcon in the 72nd minute. Ethebo also made his debut in the remaining quarter of the second half. On loan until June 2021 from Stoke City, he was seen making simple mistakes and a bit out of tune with the rest of the squad.
Galatasaray will play against Hajduk Split on September 24 in the third round of Europa League qualifiers. The following Sunday will host the intercontinental derby at Turk Telekom arena without any fans.
The boys preparing for tomorrow’s game against Basaksehir. After a successful start to the 20-21 season, the team is on the right track to the top of the table and qualifying for the Europa League. Some notable transfers have outperformed their expectations along with the return of Dianne who has said he wants to reclaim his spot as the top scorer in the Super League. We wish everyone a healthy season!
Heartbreaking Injury
In the 15th minute of the game against Caykur Rizespor, Fernando Muslera suffered a massive injury after a break away save. The ambulance carried away the Uruguayan International off the field and it has been confirmed that he has broken his leg in two different places. He will be out for 6 months which means he will miss the remainder of the season. We hope you get well soon and will always be number one in our heart!!!!!
Andone has also suffered an injury which looked very bad in the second half of the game. It is unknown how long he will be out for. The 2-0 defeat along with 2 injuries and a red card for Aden Buyuk has been very unlucky for Galatasaray during their first game back since March.
Social distancing at its finest 😎

Update on Super League
Nihat Ozdemir, the president of the Turkish Football Federation has answered the long awaited question: If and when will the Super League resume games. He has said that the league is planning to resume starting June 12 and eventually ending the season on July 26. According to the calculations, teams would need to play 7 games on the weekend and 1 game during the week for the season to end as planned. Receiving a lot of criticism for letting games go on without fans, he has said that it is in the last and we can only think into the future from here on out. The games will of course be played without fans for the remainder of the season.
Galatasaray - Besiktas
Another crucial game that will put us behind by 1 point after the Basaksehir - Trabzonspor match ended in a 1-1 tie. Best of luck!
