Hi! I'm Eulalia, and I post Sims 2 gameplay content. I've been sharing stories and pictures from my neighborhood, Middleground, for several years now. You can read more about it here if you like!
I'm also now playing a historical neighborhood called Veridia (most recent summary post is here, or you can also read the whole thing on Dreamwidth).
WCIF friendly. Here's the answered WCIF tag, and remember that I have both a resource list and CC pinterest linked below! And please send as asks and not comments. :)
I don't upload lots, except for random CC-free ones I build when the whim strikes me. However, I'm always happy to share floor plans and building info for anyone who wants to recreate them in their own game.
CC policy: most of what I share is just other people's work slapped onto different meshes or edits like defaults. Do what you want as long as you credit the original creators and don't put it behind any kind of paywall.

I'm not harping on Faro finding a date for No Reason, he does have this want hanging about.
Unfortunately, after hitting it off with Leofric the other day, it turns out Leofric doesn't like music despite being a musician? Or perhaps he believes there's room for only one musician in a relationship.
And then he started dancing with another townie right afterward. >:( Fine, Gede is cuter than you anyway.
Family outing, family outing! I sent Faro out to casually try to talk to Leofric one more time and figured Dinn and Liona might as well have time out of the house as well. Like father, like son, I guess.
Okay, well, strike this townie off the list.
At the market, Lia is also getting into disagreements.
Fial wanted to throw a party, which is convenient, since it's actually her birthday.
Much like her sister, Fial's hair is graying slower than other peoples'.
Orla unerringly finds the animals on every single lot she visits.
And cousin Cináed is annoying Sabren, lol. She's much better friends with Senovara.
Sun: Hey, I'm feeling a bit peaky, so I'm gonna head home early. Tell your mother good night and happy birthday from me, would you?
Faro: Do you need anything? I can walk you back.
Sun: No, I'll be fine after a lie down! G'night!
The birthday and party certainly stir up some feelings for Fial. Sometimes she can't help but linger on the fact that Kinet will never see this milestone. It's nice, though, to have so many of her friends and family here.
Fial: Faro! There you are, love. I've been thinking, now that Aífe's left for her... trip, why don't you move your things up to the loft?
Faro: You want me to?
Fial: You and the girls should both have more space. I thought you might've brought the idea up yourself, really.
Faro: To be honest, I guess I still think of it as Kinet's space.
Fial: I know... but right now it's just empty.
Faro: Well, alright. But won't Aífe be mad when she come back?
Fial: If Aífe didn't want to lose her bedroom, Aífe shouldn't have left. :) :) :)
Sabren finds the axe-throwing station is more to her taste than dancing. Besides, the other kids her age in town aren't even here yet—they'll probably all be here later, when the bonfire is lit, but her grandmother prefers attending earlier in the day (when there are fewer drunken antics, to quote Fial).
Drustan, staaaaahp, you're embarrassing him in front of all the cool kids. 😩
Diesta watching this like "you're supposed to let the kid win, dude".
Faro had a great time at the festival, thanks for asking!
These two, on the other hand, seem to have been rather inspired by all the festivities. 👀
I'm gonna need you to eventually learn to cover your mouth when you cough, Faro.
Sabren: You're sick again? Yuck.
Faro: You're telling me.
Eventually I remembered that he still has a cold cure in his inventory.
hey, what mod do you use to add festivals? i've seen a few around but they're either somewhat broken or a bit too 'totally not christian easter honest' for my game. thanks!
Hi, nonny! That's actually a custom edit of Piqiwi's holidays mod that I made specifically for Veridia. It doesn't actually do anything besides give me a pop-up on the day (to remind me to actually play the scenarios, lmaoooo), and sims with careers get the day off. It's basically flavor text.
Piqiwi's mod comes with the Sims 3 holidays + New Years as a default, but once I sat down and read all the details on how to edit the mod I found it very easy to customize--you're basically just editing values in SimPE. You can make it so that holidays only apply to specific subhoods, sims can get a paid or unpaid day off work or even receive a set amount of money on the holiday… it's very customizable!
I'm considering playing the festivals a different way. I might turn the lot into a residential lot and move in a placeholder sim to "host" the festivals, either throwing parties or just teleporting sims in as a separate event. I do like playing the lot with each family as I choose/remember, but I would prefer to see the festivals a little more... populated. Decisions, decisions.
Faro's decision of who to dance with, on the other hand, is made easy when random townie Leofric asks him.
Drustan: What the fuck?! Where did you come from?
Orla: It's a spell! You sort of grab the magic network and use it to go vroop. It's much faster than walking across the field!
Drustan: Spirits, you practically gave me a heart attack.
Orla: Yeah, Maddan says it makes his teeth itch when I do it.
Dinn: I hope that boy Faro is talking to is nice. They seem to be hitting it off.
Fial: Oh, that's Leofric. I've run into him at the market a few times; he seems a decent sort.
Dinn: Good! Our boy needs someone good enough for him, after all.
Fial: *laughs*
Faro: Yeah, mostly I help my father with the farm... some nights I go play songs at the mead hall, though.
Leofric: You're a musician too? What a coincidence!
Dinn: You always look stunning. But it's nice to see you wear your beads again. I don't think Kinet would want you to paint your face with ashes forever, love. It doesn't mean we don't think about or love him any less.
Fial: I suppose. Shall we get our cloaks?
Couldn't even make it inside the mead hall before a bit of making out ensued, lol.
Fial: Cináed! You're getting so tall, honey.
Cináed: Ahaha, hi, Auntie... you're kind of embarrassing me in front of a cool girl, pleasestopokaythanks?
We're winning Gede over with puppy-cuteness. Faro isn't really cooperating with me trying to hook him up, though. You've spent too much time with Jia. >_>
Fial: What do you say to going out later, just you and me?
Dinn: I say that sounds like a delightful idea.
Liona invited over her friend Duncan, who brought Grandpa Eisu with him, so obviously I also summoned over Drustan so we could get the full generational set. Even Drustan cannot resist the allure of a tiny widdle puppy dog.
Dinn: Me? I've been spending the day fixing up some bits and bobs around the farm. There's some rot on the barn that needs replacing. I need another set of hands for the next part, though, so I suppose I'll take a break until Faro's available to help.
Drustan: Um, I could help, I s'pose. If you tell me what to do.
Dinn: Really? Marvelous!
If you were wondering where Faro was, he keeps one of his lutes up on a shelf in Fial's dairy and pops out there sometimes to have a bit of time to himself.
Puppy > wooden dragon. (Now, a dragon puppy on the other hand...)
Fial does take home one of Grendel's puppies, the one Norweni named Ohthere and which she claims is the calmest of the four.
Fial: Well, I can't say you seem very fearsome despite the name, but you are very cute.
Liona is immediately charmed by the new puppy.
Meanwhile, Sabren also seeks out Norweni—in her case, to tell her great-aunt that she wants to learn to fight and be one of the warriors ready to defend the town if, spirits forbid, the need arises. Norweni is a bit reluctant—she doubts Kinet would've enjoyed the idea of his children fighting—but Sabren is both persistent and convincing.
Norweni: Very well, I'll bring you along to practice tomorrow morning. I know Kinet wasn't teaching you, so you do have to start from scratch no matter how excited you are. And I expect you to listen to what you're told to do.
Sabren: I always listen.
Norweni: I believe that, just not that you always follow through on the 'doing what you're told' part.
Sabren: Well... that's what practice is for!
Faro was also here, but just to hang out at the market. Unlike Kinet or Sabren, or his best friend Jia, he's never had any interest in fighting.
Faro and Gede here have some chemistry, but haven't done much more than chat. (Faro and Acca's semi-relationship fizzled out for now, since they've got a bit of an age gap; Acca's not going to age up for at least two rounds, so.)
Spotted: Shep's current girlfriend hanging out with her ex-girlfriend.
Auntie Norweni and her kids are all here for Sabren and Faro's shared birthday. Youngest first!
Ms. Serious-Face here is now a Knowledge sim, interested in crafty redheads who don't like jewelry.
And I seem to have not taken a picture of Faro with his cake, but here he is! I've been waiting for ages to give him a shell necklace to match Fial's.
It's a calm, quiet family supper tonight, and everyone heads out before it gets too late.
The arrival of spring brings early starts and lots of time spent prepping the fields and the kitchen garden, not to mention tending to the cows.
And up in the loft, Fial is making sure the winter furs are stored away properly, and that Kinet's clothes and anything Aífe left behind are also packed up tight with dried herbs to ward away moths.
Fial: *sighs* And what shall we do with this space now? Maybe Faro would like to move up here...
I realized when tidying my screenshots that I'm pretty sure I forgot to post the hood ROS for this round. But it was ✨nothing✨ anyway, so all's well that ends well or whatever.
Fial: You're leaving?
Aífe: For a while, yes. I doubt I'll ever get this sort of opportunity again.
Fial: But what about the girls?
Aífe: They'll be fine here.
Fial: How can you just abandon them like that?!
Aífe: By the spirits, Fial, I'm not dumping them on a mountain and leaving them to freeze, I'm leaving them here, where they live. They'll get over my being gone within a fortnight.
Fial: They just lost their father! And now their mother wants to leave them as well for who knows how long, all in the name of a bit of money—
Aífe: I'm doing this for them! Kinet is dead, so the bulk of the farm will go to Faro, won't it? And the rest of the land has long been divided up for tenants or fields, never mind that your sister owns half of it, not you. That bit of money means my daughters can establish their own households on their own land, or their own business, or whatever else it is they want when they're grown women, rather than living stuck here with Faro or with my father's wife and that child-uncle who's younger than they are!
Fial: You think that we wouldn't give the girls their fair share? That Faro wouldn't? That's cruel, Aífe.
Aífe: Regardless, I'm leaving. You can like it or not, but that fact's not changing.
Fial can judge her all she wants—and Aífe is sure that she is—but this feels like the right choice. Aífe has been so tired since Kinet died, and already the thought of being away from here makes her feel lighter. And with the extra money, money she would never earn just in Veridia and a small city like Evervale, her daughters will have enough coin to do whatever strikes their fancy when they're grown. Sabren and Liona will thank her for it one day.
If anyone bothered to ask Faro, rather than shouting about it within his earshot, they would know that he's perfectly happy with the thought of handing the farm straight over to his nieces when it eventually passes to him (a day that he hopes is far, far away). It's fine, it's important work, but Faro would be happier singing for his supper. No one ever does ask him these things, though.
Ah, Drustan, I did so miss your friendly demeanor and smiling face around the village. At least tip us, bro.
Cousin Senna came over for lunch. Sabren likes spending time with her, even though Sabren is quite a serious girl and Senovara is definitely... not.
Norweni: Ah. So she is going through with it.
Fial: You knew? Why didn't you tell me?!
Norweni: She mentioned it to me, but I figured there was a chance she'd change her mind. There wasn't much point in telling you only for it to be false.
Fial: *sigh* Any other horrible secrets you'd like to share?
Norweni: Not currently, no.
Fial: Fine. Change of subject—are those puppies of yours weaned yet?
Norweni: Just about.
Fial: D'you think you could bear to part with one? Liona keeps talking about it, and it would be nice to have a dog on the farm again...
Norweni: I think I could spare one for my favorite sister.
Fial: I'm your only sister.
Norweni: That does make it very easy to choose a favorite.
I just think Fial deserves a dog after everything. Maybe two dogs.
