Hey guys! So, if you have any kind of record of playlists that you liked on 8tracks (including in your computer's history), there's a pretty good chance that you might have access to the tracklist through the Internet Archive.
I was working on a project to hunt down old playlists and reblog them on a sideblog I made and was looking through what the tags were so that I could tag them based on that. So, back when the website almost shut down in 2020, the Internet Archive crawled a LOT of the playlists. Like. A LOT a lot. Not everything, but a significant amount of it. And back then, there was a button to download a .txt file of the tracklist. I'd assumed this was probably a dead link and ignored it.
It's kind of hit or miss, but I got a few to save to my computer.
So, basically, provided that the playlist wasn't privated or deleted before January 2020 and you can somehow find a link to it, you might be able to save it. It's obviously not as good as having all of your data back, but it's better than everything being lost forever.

To search crawled tags, format the url as: https://8tracks.com/explore/tag_here
To search crawled profiles, format the url as: https://8tracks.com/user/usernamehere or https://8tracks.com/usernamehere for older captures (NOTE: some profiles also had the first page of their likes saved, so it's worth checking if your profile was saved)
To search for a specific playlist, format the url as: https://8tracks.com/usernamehere/title-here
