Surprise, mostly. I took almost every possibility into consideration, but did not think that there would be a second alien species encounter, especially what an Eridian is as a whole.

As for the second question, I knew how far they were going the whole time, to Tau Ceti. I suppose I am relieved the ship made it there successfully.
