avery smiled at eva’s words, the fact was there, she wasn’t going to stop going there to buy pastries. she loved the place, eva was really nice and, she knew what exactly ivy liked so she can always buy it there knowing she would not disappoint. “ don’t ask me what they were thinking but, if i had been there the security guards wouldn’t have been needed ” she joked. “ it really is, thank god it’s just so protected nothing happened ” avery shrugged. “ remind me not to mess with you ”
“I’ll remember that the next time we need to hire security... or even if you ever need a new job. I’m sure you’d be a great addition to the team.” Eva grinned. Somehow talking to Avery always made her feel better. “I don’t think I’ll ever have to remind you of that.”
Closed starter | @justalelaurent Location | Sweet Treats Bakery
Being the owner of Sweet Treats meant that Eva was prone to memorizing faces and names from the people around town. It helped that it was so small, too. “Good morning. I presume you’ll be having your usual?” She asked, giving the man a polite smile. It was great for her business to learn names and orders by heart.

avery tilted her head to the side. “ one, the pastries here are never over baked, if that was true i’m sure you wouldn’t even serve those ” the blonde started. “ second of all, if that was true i wouldn’t buy anything here ” avery told her, “ i maybe i would bc, what kind of friend would that make me, but … maybe i would feed a couple of croissants to the seagulls ” she joked. “ yeah tourist are something else, let’s just pray they don’t come to the gallery with one of your goods to throw it to one of the paintings as someone did to the mona lisa ” she joked. “ that sounds actually like a nice reward ” avery grinned, as she took her phone outside her pocket. “ you know how to do that ? are you a hacker eva ? ”
“At the very least, even if we served over baked pastries, you would still be giving me business. I’m very grateful for you,” Eva admitted, flashing her friend a grin. She shook her head, still in disbelief about what had happened to the famous Da Vinci painting. “I’m still not sure why someone would ever do that. I mean... I’m glad there’s a piece of glass to cover and protect it but still. That’s like, so disrespectful.” Eva sighed. “No, I just get ahold of someone who works at Yelp, request for them to remove it, and give them the reason why.” She laughed. “I think I’d make a great hacker, though.”

avery tilted her head to the side, her eyes locked on the raven-haired woman. “ living in a small town doesn’t help much when it comes to that ” she agreed. “ it doesn’t help either that people are just willing to annoy others ” the blonde sighed. “ what does that review says anyways ? ” she asked curiously. “ i bet is not that bad ” she assured. “ hey if it helps i can leave a good one ” avery winked at the other playfully.
“It says the pastries here are dry and over baked,” Eva mumbled, lips pursed with a pinched look on her face. “I did speak with the staff member that helped them, she said they were very rude to her. I feel like they may have just been tourists passing through, wanting something handed to them for free,” she sighed, giving Avery a small and grateful smile at her words. “If you do, your usual will be on the house today,” she promised. “I’m working to get this review taken down today, I suppose.”
Eva is bisexual. She’s been comfortable in her label for as long as she can remember. Her parents don’t know, and she has no interest in telling them because they aren’t in her life. Her closest friends and those she cares about know and support her, and that is all that matters to her.
Eva was aware that there were always going to be tough times and rough patches when it came to owning a bakery; she had been prepared for it because she’d co-owned Sweet Treats with a partner for years. After her partner had moved away, she slowly went through the legal process of having it in her name alone. Still, the consequences of a bad review in a small town were harsh. “These people only tried one thing, and it was from a new staff member. They never even spoke to me before writing this,” she mumbled, mostly to herself as she clicked out of the browser with a sigh. @nhstarters
