Hello! Thank you for visiting! My grandmother taught me to cross stitch when I was around five years old and I have been stitching on and off through the years ever since. I started cross stitching again during Covid and shortly after my grandmother’s passing, both as a way to feel closer to her and in an attempt to slim down the collection of 400 cards of embroidery floss she had bequeathed to me years back, when her dementia had gotten to the point that she knew she wouldn’t be able to keep stitching.

Unfortunately, the slimming down didn’t work, as I started playing with patterning my own designs and have ultimately ended up with even more cards of floss. But I have been enjoying reviving my hobby! And patterning has been extremely fun.

I hope you find cross stitching fun, as well! I hope it brings you the same joy and deep satisfaction it brings me.

Hi I couldn’t stop thinking about this post so I made it a cross stitch pattern

Another freebie pattern! This one’s for SJM girlies, haha.

Again, this was a very early pattern! I believe this was my second one, after my FBAA piece- as you can tell, I still wasn’t even attempting fonts lol. I think I made it right after HOSAB came out, as I read HOEAB immediately before it. I’ll admit that Crescent City is definitely my least favorite of SJM’s series (Throne of Glass FOREVER) but I love the aesthetic of the arches too much.

Stitched on 14ct black Aida in a 5in hoop

NOTES ON THIS PATTERN

The colors for the text are placeholders, as I originally patterned it in silver but opted for colors while stitching (that I didn’t write down, of course). I would suggest pink, purple, and blue as they’re meant to represent the colors in Danika’s hair but obviously do what you want!

B5200 is also, technically, a placeholder. I used a partially translucent thread as opposed to embroidery floss, trying to mimic more of a “quartz” feel. If I restitched this I’d probably go with a more translucent thread BUT it worked somewhat and did give it some depth

A lot of these colors are literally single stitches, to represent the different areas of Lunathion like in the book. If you don’t want to commit to buying floss JUST for one square obviously they can be skipped and the panel can just be gold

Anyway! If you stitch it, I’d love to see it! I love making bookish cross stitches so there will probably be more in the future! This is a free pattern but if you like my work, I would never say no to a ko-fi 💕

Okay so I made this forever ago but only recently realized I never posted it anywhere… even though I liked it so much I animated it! So here it is now because who doesn’t love a sword to the heart?

I just posted this one on Etsy, with options for both white and black Aida backgrounds (the black looks the best IMO). 4inx6in on 14ct Aida!

Hello again! Here is another pattern I made a few years ago, based on the book series Blood and Ash! I think this was actually the first relatively detailed thing I ever patterned! Featuring Poppy’s bloodstone and wolven bone dagger and an arrow fashioned from a tree from the Blood Forest- tipped with bloodstone and fletched with silver hawk feathers 😉

Patterned for black 14ct Aida, I would recommend stitching on a 6in hoop

Hi all! I patterned a Crystal era Suicune for a personal project last year and wanted to share the pattern, if anyone else wanted to make it! Pokémon Crystal remains, to this day, my favorite Pokémon game and Suicune my favorite Pokémon.

It was originally patterned for 28ct Charles cloth but I readjusted the pattern to 14ct Aida, so it’ll be easier to make (though a bit bigger!)

Since it’s a little over 4x4 I would recommend stitching in a 5in hoop.

If you make this I would love to see it! I just ask that you don’t repost the pattern and would be grateful for the credit if you post your completed pieces anywhere.

A few years ago (back when I was still gridding!) I patterned and stitched a piece inspired by Sue Lynn Tan’s Daughter of the Moon Goddess! At that time, this was my most ambitious piece. Hand dyed 18ct fiddler’s cloth in a 6in hoop. I hate stitching a ton of one color at a time so doing all that white made me a little insane. Still! It remains one of my favorite pieces and I’m still very proud of it.

A west coast sunset! I’ve been patterning a lot of sunsets/sunrises lately because that’s been my weird mood I guess. This was the first one I patterned but I’m only just now stitching it! I haven’t gotten very far 😬

This is patterned on 4x4 on 14ct BUT I typical stitch on 28ct Charles cloth, which obviously halves the size. I love taking 14ct patterns and making them smaller lol

A few years ago I patterned a few designs based on one of my favorite video games, Journey. Recently I reworked one of the designs for 14ct (originally I made them for 18ct fiddlers). I started uploading some designs to Etsy, if anyone else is interested in making them! This particular pack comes with three different color guides in accordance with cloth color, if you wanted to do what I did and dye your own cloth, haha.
