i think dazai would hate seeing chuuya in hospitals. he doesn’t like them himself, (the smells, the lights, the unsettling sterility, the bone-deep feeling of being watched) but when it comes to chuuya, chuuya who is larger than life, who is louder than anyone he’s ever known, who screams his feelings and throws them in your face whether or not you want to hear it - seeing him quiet, lying down, not a word coming out of him, his colour pale and drawn, barely breathing? chuuya not responding to anything he says or does, not to him poking his nose or peeling his eyes open or bending his finger backwards or fucking with his hair. not to dazai insulting him or being a nuisance to everyone in the hospital or when he gets all up in his face?

well. dazai doesn’t enjoy that at all.

i don't think i've mentioned it on here but one of my favourite dazai HCs is that he got the 'rolling around on the floor when stressed' thing from that time chuuya spun him around upside down in stormbringer until he was ill, cuz he was explaining an idea at the time 😭

Imagine an AU where everyone saw in black & white until they met their soulmate, then they saw colors for the first time.

Cue Dazai being kicked into a wall & upon opening his eyes the first colors he sees are within flaming red hair & piercing bright blue eyes. A green jacket hugging the kids figure as his foot remains planted on Dazai’s chest.

Chuuya sees stark white bandages across one eye and beneath an ill fitting white dress shirt. Dark chocolate colored locks. One honey brown iris with flecks of maroon shining in the sunlight. A black coat lying beneath him.

They both freeze for a moment, staring intently at each other, eyes blowing wide at colors they've never seen before.

Then they make eye contact, holding it for one beat, then two.

Then slowly it dawns on them what this means and, of course, their expressions move from awe to irritation. They bicker immediately, neither of them willing to give into fate.

Chuuya scoffs. "Oh fuck no, no way my *soulmate* is some shitty kid from the fucking mafia."

"How eloquent. As if such a tiny, brutish *slug* could ever be *my* soulmate." Dazai mocked in return.

Bonus points if the colors fade when they’re not together, until they accept they’re soulmates that is.
