Hi, please could I request prompts 65, 69, and 70 from the love prompts with Jonathan Byers?❤
Prompt 65: “Did you do something different with your hair?” & Prompt 69: “You’re teasing me again” and Prompt 70: “This is why I fell in love with you.”
A/N: I hope this is okay! Enjoy!
Warnings: none
It took me all of half an hour to convince my Dad that I’dbe okay driving in this sort of weather. I’d only passed my test a month ago,and I hadn’t been driving longer than a few weeks, but it was only rain, itcouldn’t be that much different.
Dad reluctantly handed me the car keys, making me promise I’dcall when I got there, and to be back by curfew. I nodded, surprised that he’d actuallyagreed to let me go. It wasn’t that I didn’t have faith in my driving, I knew Icould do it, I just couldn’t believe he was going to let me drive his car inweather that didn’t seem to be getting better any time soon.
As soon as I was out the door, I regretting telling JonathanI’d come over. The rain was bouncing off the ground, splashing up the sides ofmy trousers as I ran over to my Dad’s car. I held my hand over my head, hopingbut failing, to keep the rain off of my face. By the time I’d even managed tounlock the car and get in, I was completely soaked.
Of course it rained in Indiana, and I wasn’t adverse tothese weather conditions, but this rain wasn’t letting up. The noise of therain drops on the roof of the car sounded like bullets, and I could barely hearthe radio that came on when I started the ignition.
I sighed, wondering if this was really worth it.
Of course it was, it was Jonathan. But he’d been drivingmuch longer than I had, and it was tempting to call him and tell him to comeover to my house to hang out. All this, just to hang out.
By the time I’d made it to the end of the street, the windhad picked up considerably and I had to turn the wipers onto full speed just tobarely see what was happening in front of me – if anything I was going off ofmemory.
It didn’t take me long to get to Jonathan’s house, fifteenminutes tops, but by the time I’d pulled up outside the weather was horrendous. The rain was coming down torrentially, and I didn’t actually want to get out ofthe car.
I saw the front door open, and assumed it was Jonathanstanding there waiting for me. I reluctantly switched the engine off, unplugging my belt and opening the door. As soon as I did I felt the cold hitme, and the sound of the trees shaking in the wind was overwhelming, not tomention the rain.
I got out, slammed the door, and ran over to the house asquickly as I could.
I stood on the porch, completely drenched, pulling my wethair away from my face where it was now stuck.
“Did you do something different with your hair?”
I looked at Jonathan through the mess on my face with anunimpressed look.
“I can’t help but get the impression that you’re teasing meagain,” I countered, and he couldn’t help but laugh at the state of me. Icracked a smile, stepping in and letting him shut the door behind me.
The quiet of the house came as a welcome change to thewhistling wind and the thudding of the rain on the car.
“I think you ought to change,” he laughed, “C’mon,” Igestured towards the bathroom.
I followed him through the living room, and Joyce caught meas we walked past the kitchen.
“Oh honey, you didn’t come out in this!” She said, surprisedto see me.
“I wish I hadn’t,” I admitted, “Better check the forecastnext time,” I laughed.
“You can borrow something of mine, Jonathan just takewhatever she needs from my room okay?” He nodded, taking my hand and leading medown the hallway.
“You shouldn’t have come, I didn’t realise it was going tobe this bad,” he noted as we walked into Joyce’s room.
“It’s fine, I wanted to get out of the house. Plus I hadn’tshowered yet today,” I joked, and he rolled his eyes at my lame attempt.
He threw me a cardigan and a pair of his Mom’s jeans.
“You can borrow one of my shirts, you’ll look much cooler,”he added, heading out of Joyce’s room.
I changed in the bathroom, thanking God that he gave me acardigan since I was frozen to the bone. I draped my clothes over the edge ofthe bath to dry, knowing they’d take a while since they were practicallysodden.
I made my way into Jonathan’s room, his music playingquietly as he lay on his bed reading. As soon as he saw me he sat up andshuffled over, his back resting against the headboard. I sat next to him, pulling my legs up and resting my head on his shoulder, slouching.
“Oh my god you’re freezing, get off me.” His entire bodyjerked away as I pressed my face into his arm, barely being able to feel my ownnose. “Doesn’t your Dad’s car have a heater?!” He asked incredulously.
“It does,” I started, “But I don’t know how to use it,” Iconfessed, burying my cold face back into his upper arm. His laugh shook hisentire body, and I was surprised my cheeks didn’t turn red from embarrassment –I was that cold.
“This is why I fell in love with you,” he said casually, andmy heart skipped a beat.
“What because I’m incompetent?!” I asked, laughing slightly.
“Well, that and because you’re just so cute,” he smiled, squeezing my cheek between his fingers.
I reached up to squeeze his cheek back, but the moment thetips of my fingers touched his skin he flinched away, cursing.
“Hey, you’re the one who wanted me to come over,” I pouted.
“Yeah I wanted you, not the Ice Queen.” I rolled my eyes, acting casual before pulling his shirt up and running my cold hands all overhis stomach, earning a string of profanities from him.
I don’t know if it’s possible to choose two , but if that’s the case , could I request 180 & 57 with Billy? Sorry to be a boder and thanks ✨
Prompt 57: “Is that my shirt?” & 180: “You have no idea what you do to me.”
A/N: I hope this is okay! Enjoy!
Warnings: language and cheeky Billy
I could feel my arm being shaken, but it was far too earlyto even register what was happening. I mumbled something incoherent and movedmy arm under the sheets, tucking it out of Billy’s reach.
“Babe, wake the fuck up,” he whispered, shaking my wholebody now.
“I swear to God Billy I will kill you if you don’t leave mealone,” I grumbled, refusing to open my eyes.
“That can wait,” he rushed, “Your Mom won’t stop knocking.”
As soon as he said those words, I was awake. I turned tolook at him, the panic on my face reflected onto his. I threw the covers off ofme, kicking them away with my legs frantically, and heading over to my bedroomdoor.
I opened it a crack, not sure how mad my Mom was going tobe.
“What have I said about himstaying over?” She hissed as I opened the door.
“Uh, to not to?” I answered, hardly being able to comprehendwhat was happening.
“I’ve told you not to do it when David stays over, you knowhow he disapproves,” she reminded me.
“It’s not my fault you’re dating a snitch,” I retorted. Iknew I didn’t like David, at least now I had a valid reason.
“He is not a snitch, young lady, he just doesn’t believeit’s morally right for you two to be staying over together at this age.”
I rolled my eyes, brushing the mess of hair away from myface. I knew my Mom liked David, and I didn’t want her to think that I didn’t,but the truth is that I couldn’t fucking stand him. Unfortunately, at this timein the morning, my filter was nowhere to be seen.
“What do we live in the town from Footloose all of a sudden?!”
“Lower your voice, young lady,” my Mom warned.
“It’s such bullshit,” I whispered angrily.
“And you’re nearly late for school, don’t give me anotherreason to tell you off,” she scolded, making her way down the corridor, presumably to check on my brother.
“Wouldn’t want to piss David off!” I shouted back, beforeclosing the door and stumbling back over to my bed, landing face first onto mypillow.
“David doesn’t like me, huh?” Billy smirked, rolling out ofbed and reaching for his jeans.
“Don’t take it personally,” I laughed, “he hates me too. Youknow he says we’re corrupting my brother?” I informed him, and Billy laughed, raising his eyebrows.
“Is that so?”
“Yeah, apparently you staying over is ‘tainting hisinnocence.’ I air-quoted, not quite believing the rubbish this guy came outwith sometimes. Billy laughed, shaking his head in disbelief. My Mom likedBilly, before David came onto the scene she had no problem with him. It’s notthat she had a problem with Billy now, she’d just started to be a tad lessrelaxed about our relationship, and I knew it stemmed from David.
“I need to shower,” I grumbled, not wanting to get out ofbed.
“Babe we have to leave in ten minutes,” Billy pointed out. Isighed heavily, dramatically rolling myself out of bed and throwing my pyjamat-shirt off, that I had so gracefully spilt cereal down the night before.
I grabbed the first thing I could find, throwing it on, justto cover myself until I made it into the bathroom.
“Is that my shirt?” Billy questioned, and I looked down atthe t-shirt I had put on, pulling the front of it away from my body to get abetter look at the print.
“Oh yeah, sorry do you want it back?” I asked, lifting theedges up, ready to pull it back over my head. The look on Billy’s face was farfrom wanting it back though, instead I could see the look in his eyes that hegot all too often, and he shook his head slowly.
“You have no idea what you do to me,” he confessed, takinghis bottom lip between his teeth as he looked me up and down. I looked down atmyself, shrugging at the sight of my shorts being almost covered by Billy’st-shirt on me.
“You need to stop,” I laughed, “We have ten minutes, remember?” I mocked, doing my impression of his voice.
“It’ll only take ten minutes, promise,” he winked, and I automaticallyrolled my eyes.
“Am I meant to be impressed by that?” I threw back, restingmy hand on my hip suggestively.
“Take it how you want it.” He ran his tongue over his bottomlip, a smirk forming at the corners of his mouth. I couldn’t help but laugh at thedouble meaning.
“You need to stop this, now. We have to go.” I asserted, grabbing my towel and leaving the room, praying that I’d run into David whilstwearing Billy’s shirt.

Hi hon👋 could u please do 67 with Steve ? love your work ❤️
Prompt 67: “Stop being so cute!”
A/N: Enjoy!
Warnings: none!
It had finally happened. After an entire childhood ofbegging, throwing tantrums, and adding it to countless Christmas lists, wefinally got a dog.
“Y/n if you don’t stop playing with that poor thing he’ll beworn out by lunch time.” I rolled my eyes, taking no notice of my Mom.
“Anddon’t think I’m taking him out in this, I have things to be doing,” she added, gesturing to the pouring rain outside.
Steve let out a small laugh as she sauntered off with thelaundry basket, always finding it funny when my Mom had her little rants.
“C’mere baby,” I patted the floor, trying to pull the littleguy’s attention away from the leg of the coffee table. “That’s a good boy.” Hislittle paws plodded over to me, almost tumbling over a few times before hepractically fell into my lap.
“So what have you decided to call him?” I looked up atSteve, his eyes planted on the TV.
“We can’t decide,” I huffed, my thumb currently being nippedat. “Well, we can but we all disagree.”
“So you’re gonna call him baby until it’s decided?” He shot me an unimpressed look, but I wastoo preoccupied with my new best friend to care.
“But he is a little baby,” I cooed, holding him up in frontof me and planting kisses over his face.
“You’re gonna get rabies.” I turned to Steve, shooting him adeath glare.
“He does not have rabies,” I asserted. “How could he saythat about you, huh baby?” My attention was back on the dog. “You’re justjealous that he’s getting all the kisses,” I teased, moving off the floor tosit next to Steve, bringing the dog with me.
“Rabid kisses? No thanks.” Steve’s eyes didn’t leave the TVonce, and I rolled my eyes, knowing there was an element of truth in what I’dsaid.
“Here,” I said, handing him the puppy. “You two need tobond.”
“He’s not even my dog,” he reminded me.
“So? You practically live here anyway, might as well form aconnection with the dog.”
“A connection with the dog?” He repeated, looking at me asif I’d lost the plot. “It’s a dog.” He reasoned.
“And?” I pressed him, not understanding his point.
“You’re nuts,” he laughed, his fingers now being nipped atby the dog.
“Oh, would you just stop being so cute!” I squealed, “I needthe camera.” I jumped up, searching the table for it.
“I can’t help it, I’m just adorable,” Steve replied, thecheesiest grin on his face.
I couldn’t contain my laughter, practically falling on thefloor.
“Babe, I was talking to the dog,” I said between laughs, myeyes watering from laughing so hard.
77 & 153 with Steve , pretty please? ~
Prompt 77: Are you jealous? & 153: Put me down!
A/N: Enjoy!
Warnings: none
“Hey! How was the game?” I questioned chirpily, linking myarm with Steve’s as I walked out of class.
“Good,” he replied bluntly, not even turning to look at me.I was taken aback by his mood, but tried to ignore it, hoping it would wearoff.
“Did you guys win?” I asked, smiling hopefully.
“Yeah.”
I simply nodded. Maybe if I didn’t ask why he was being likethis he would cheer up by himself. I didn’t want to make it any worse.
“I saw you having a fun time.” I turned to look at him, still not making eye contact with me. My brow furrowed in confusion. “Talkingto that guy in your class, I saw you,” he continued.
“Yeah, and?” I asked, wondering what the hell had gotteninto it him.
“And nothing, I just didn’t realise you were friends withhim,” he commented.
“I mean we aren’t exactly friends, Steve. I barely know him,”I clarified. In all honesty, I wasn’t even too sure of his name. We only had afew classes together, and Math was the only one that we sat within talkingdistance of each other.
I thought about letting it go. Just letting Steve carry onwith his little mood, but it had irked me.
“Are you jealous?”
“What?” He asked incredulously, turning to look at me forthe first time since I’d left the classroom.
“Are you jealous?” I repeated, raising my eyebrows at him.
“I’m not jealous of Andrew fucking Loomes,” he asserted. “Whythe hell would you even say that?”
“Oh c’mon Steve. I walk out of class and you’re all grumpybecause you saw me speaking to him,” I explained, “How is that not you justbeing plain jealous?” I retorted.
“Trust me, I’m not jealous,” he clarified. I sighed as westepped outside, heading towards the car. The only thing worse than being witha grumpy Steve, was being trapped in a car with a grumpy Steve.
As we made our way through the sea of people rushing totheir cars, I counted at least four girls saying bye to Steve for the day, batting their eyelashes and twisting their hair in their fingers.
“See, I don’t get jealous.” I remarked, shrugging myshoulders.
“Of what?”
“Of the swarms of girls that pander to your every move,” Itold him, “Bye Steve, See you tomorrowSteve,” I mimicked, fluttering my eyelashes.
“Alright that’s it,” he said, and I could tell he wasresisting a smile.
Before I could register what was happening, he had picked meup, his arms wrapping around my thighs as he threw me over his shoulder. Myhair covered my face as I was turned upside down, and I kicked my legs inprotest.
“What the hell, Steve!” I shouted, trying not to laugh, butfailing.
“It’s a punishment pick-up,” he laughed.
“What the fuck are you on?!” I squealed, “Put me down!”
He carried me over to the car, setting me down on thepassenger side.
“Now, are you quite done mocking my fans?” He teased.
“Only if you’re done hating on Andrew Loomes,” I retorted, andhe pretended to mull the idea over in his head, before leaning down to press akiss to my lips.
“You’re cute when you’re feisty,” he smiled, walking over tothe driver’s side.
“And you’re an ass when you’re jealous,” I returned, gettingin the car.
“I love you too babe,” he laughed.
Your Nance fics are hitting me so hard in the feels! Keep it up :)
Ahh thank you so much (I hope its a good thing!) I’ll be doing a part three for sure! Hugs x
can you do prompt 73 with billy please??
Prompt 73: “Oh, are you ticklish?”
A/N: Hope this is okay, enjoy!
Warnings: None!
“So what do you think, do you like it?” I asked mindlessly as Ilooked at my reflection in the mirror, already planning several outfits I couldmake with my new top. After no reply came, I turned to look at Billy, who wascurrently lying on my bed with his eyes shut.
“Nice try, I know you’re not asleep,” I called himout, to which he peeked an eye open.
“You look great babe, now come lie down.” He soundedtired, and appreciated that, but it was 2pm on a Saturday.
“Hello, I’m not wasting my weekend with you beingasleep. Plus, I know you don’t nap so don’t even try that.”
“I’m not napping I’m just resting my eyes,” heassured me.
“You sound just like my Mom,” I teased, searching mydesk for a pair of scissors.
“Whatever, will you just come and lie down?”
“I will, but can you cut the tag off first please?”I held the scissors out to him and pulled my hair to one side over my shoulder, while Billy dragged himself off of my bed as dramatically as possible.
As his fingers brushed the top of my exposed neck,my shoulders automatically reacted, flinching away slightly.
“Oh, are you ticklish?” I could already tell Billyhad a smile on his face at his newfound discovery.
“What? No?” I said, not even convincing myself.
“Oh no? What about now?” Before I could move, hishands were over my ribs, his fingers tickling the top of my stomach over my newtop.
“Billy!” I squealed, trying to get away from him asquickly as possible. Despite my best efforts to escape his grip, myuncontrollable laughter only encouraged him. “Billy you’re gonna crease it!”Even he laughed at my excuse, clearly seeing through me. “Billy I’m gonna pee.”
At this he let me go straight away, backing awayslightly at my warning. I couldn’t wipe the smile off of my face, as much as Ihated being tickled, being tickled by Billy wasn’t so bad.
Which characters do you write for?
Billy, Jonathan, and Steve!
Ooooo number 19, "I'm going to kill you!" With either Billy or Steve, you have yet to fail me, your writing is soooo good 😍😍😍
A/N: this is super short bc I wrote it super quick but I hope its okay. Also, you’re the sweetest thing ever, hugs! x
“I’m going to kill you!”
Billy huffed, “When did you get so dramatic?” His inabilityto let go of his ego enraging me further. “Did anyone ever tell you that youshould’ve taken up drama?”
“It’s not funny, Billy! You should’ve said no!” I could feelmy face flushing from all the shouting on my behalf, Billy’s calm composure notwithstandingmy screeching.
“Why would I have said no?” His brow furrowed, and he pulledhis usual expression when he didn’t agree with me. I resisted the urge to stormoff.
“Why would you have said yes?!” I countered, completelybewildered that we were even having this conversation.
“I mean, technically I don’t have a date. You know I don’ttake dates.” He reminded me, running a hand through his hair.
“We agreed that we would go together! Now I’m going to besad and lonely and look like a complete loser,” I huffed, growing tired ofshouting at him.
“You know if you weren’t my best friend I might actually killyou,” I huffed.
“Look, all she did was ask me if I was single and going tothe dance. The answer to both of those is yes,” he explained.
“I know Billy, I was there too,” I said rolling my eyes.
“It’s not as though she asked me to go with her.”
“Oh Billy Billy Billy. When a girl asks if you’re single andgoing to a dance, it’s because she wants to go with you.” I explained, wondering how he could be so oblivious.
“Well we didn’t agree on anything so calm down. But clearlyyou’re keen on going with me,” he smirked.
“Steady on there Hargrove,” I cautioned, “I’m just remindingyou of the promises you’ve already made.” I assured him, passing off the flushon my cheeks from my shouting, and not guilt.

A/N: And here I am with a part two! (lets be real I’ll probably be making a part three if it gets requested)
You can read Part One here!
Warnings: Language maybe?
It had been a rough night, one I wished not to remember. As soon as I got in my Mom was pandering to me, wondering what the hell had happened to ‘put me in such a state.’ I could only imagine how terrible I looked. The tears had stopped, but my eyes stung and I could feel the tear stains painting my cheeks.
I stormed up the stairs to my room, ignoring the string of questions being hurled at me from my Mom. She didn’t follow, probably knowing better than to get involved at this stage. I was seeing red.
Picking up the receiver in my bedroom, I hit the hook on the handset, hanging up on whoever my Mom had been speaking to. I needed to. This was an emergency. I dialled Kathy’s number, praying that she answered.
As soon as she picked up the phone, I recited pretty much the entire evening to her, minus a few details, in between sobs. She insisted that Steve and I were broken up, that by walking off I had essentially cut all ties with him. I wasn’t so sure myself, but the thought of being over hurt more than it should, considering the circumstances
The next morning I got a ride with Kathy and her sister. As much as I wanted to keep what happened between Steve and I relatively private, telling Kathy in hindsight was probably a mistake. Not only did her sister and Dad now know, as she filled them in on the way to school, she’d also rang Bridgette and Lauren to catch them up.
After a dreadful night’s sleep, I didn’t even have the effort to argue with her for announcing what had happened. I just wanted to go to school and get it over and done with, all without seeing or speaking about Steve.
Usually I resented the fact that Steve and I had almost completely different timetables, but today I had never been more thankful. The only class I would see him in today was gym, and it’s not as though we had to speak.
I managed to make it until lunchtime without having to hear his name, but all good things come to an end. Bridgette was whining about her Chemistry teacher trying to bring down her entire average by giving her a D on her report card, when Nancy came over with a few girls from our History class.
“Hey y/n, I just wanted to say that I’m sorry about what happened, I heard.” She said it with a remorseful smile, and I almost snapped my neck turning back to the table.
“Okay, which one of you thought that it was okay to tell Nancy?” I accused, looking at Kathy, Lauren and Bridgette with narrowed eyes, not caring that Nancy was standing right there.
“Oh no, uh, Steve told me,” she explained.
I didn’t know how to feel. Not only was I humiliated at the situation on the whole, but now Steve had told Nancy, of all people.
“Okay, thanks Nancy,” I tried to smile. I wasn’t mad at her, and I didn’t want her to think I was. She and the other girls backed away from the table after a few moments. So now not only did most of my friends know, Nancy and her friends knew, and whoever else Steve had told.
It took everything in me not to go home right then.
We had gym last period, and I was dreading seeing Steve. I had no idea what I’d say to him if he spoke to me. I had no idea where we stood as a couple. I was angry, heartbroken, and clueless.
The boys were on one side of the gymnasium, practicing dribbling by the looks of things, and the girls were on the other, doing gymnastics.
I was sat in the corner with Kathy, letting her tie my hair into a bun for me when Miss Collins walked in.
“I didn’t realise this was a hairdressers,” she commented, shooting us a disapproving look. When she turned around to catch the attention of the class, Kathy stuck her finger up at her, and I couldn’t help but laugh a little.
Once we’d stood up, gathering around in a circle to listen to our instructions for the hour, I spotted Steve. He was already looking back at me, an unreadable expression on his face. I looked away quickly, trying to focus on the task at hand but failing miserably. I took none of what Miss Collin’s had said in, solely relying on Kathy to have been listening.
“Now spread out, you all need plenty of space.” As the girls dispersed into pairs, I followed Kathy towards the middle of the room.
“Y/n,” Steve started as we came into earshot. I ignored him completely, turning my back on him.
“Remembered her name now have we, Harrington?”
I turned back at the voice to see Billy Hargrove standing there with a smirk on his face, taunting Steve.
If he wasn’t talking about me, I probably would’ve laughed.
“How many people have you told, Steve?” My jaw almost dropped as Kathy spoke to him, a look of shock on her face too at her sudden burst of confidence.
“I didn’t mean to, I just had to-“
“Had to go and tell Nancy, of all people?” By this point the conversation in the room had quietened considerably, everybody trying to listen in. “Do you know how humiliating this is for her?” Kathy gestured towards me, and I felt everybody’s eyes on me as they followed the conversation.
I should’ve gone home at lunch.
“Look, can we talk?” Steve asked, ignoring Kathy’s death glare and speaking to me. “Privately.” He added, looking around the gym at the several people spectating.
I reluctantly nodded my head. I didn’t want to speak to Steve about this, I wanted to continue avoiding it for as long as possible, but I couldn’t bear everybody watching us, and agreeing seemed like the quickest way for them to stop.
“Someone’s whipped.” I barely heard Billy mutter this under his breath, but I just caught it.
“Hey, don’t talk about her like that.”
“What the hell Steve?” I couldn’t help myself. Words started coming out and I just couldn’t stop them. “I don’t need you to defend me. Not anymore. Sure, we can talk, but just know that after what you did, nothing from our relationship can be saved.”
I couldn’t hold eye contact any longer, and I diverted my eyes to the ground. I thought I’d cried it all out last night, but the tears threatening to spill proved otherwise.
“Nothing?” He asked, and I heard the break in his voice. By now the entire gym was silent, waiting with baited breath for my response.
But I couldn’t, I simply shook my head. As soon as Kathy put her arm around me I let out a sob, struggling to keep everything in. I could feel my heart in my throat as she started to lead me out towards the changing rooms.
As we reached the double doors I told myself not to turn around, but my curiosity got the better of me. I looked back through my blurred vision to see Steve completely ground to the floor, not having moved an inch, his eyes still on me.

“This is so exciting! We’ll have to go shopping and get youall new things. Things for studying, things for your bathroom-“
I couldn’t listen to it any longer, my mind automaticallytuning the sound of my Mother’s voice out as she continued to list the things I’dneeded to get sorted before I left.
“Honey?” I blinked a couple times having zoned out, her handon my shoulder bringing me back in the room.
“Mhm?” My mind was reeling.
“When are you going to tell Billy?” She spoke the wordskindly, but a part of me knew she was somewhat relieved that I’d be over fourthousand miles away from him.
“Tonight, I guess.” I shrugged, trying not to break downthen and there. A part of me was in too much shock to even acknowledge thatmuch emotion. Although we’d been together pretty much since he landed inIndiana, I got the feeling that my mother was in denial about our relationship.Of course, Mother’s talk and I think she took the gossip about the Hargrove’s alittle too seriously. Either way, this wasn’t going to be as easy for me as shewas expecting.
“I’m just gonna go to my room,” I started, taking the letterfrom her hands, “I’ve got some stuff to sort out.” As I made my way up thestaircase, she replied.
“You certainly do! Oh, Hillary is going to be so excitedwhen I tell her!” She squealed, making her way to the phone in the kitchen, nodoubt calling all of her friends. I rolled my eyes, pushing my bedroom dooropen with my foot.
I walked straight over to my bed, landing face first ontoit.
I’d seen people in movies scream into pillows when they werein situations like this, but knowing my Mom she’d have Homeland Security roundat the house at the first sign of any screaming. Instead, I let out a deep sighthat I’d been holding in. The paper in my hand was slowly starting to burn ahole in my chest. I couldn’t take it.
Rolling over onto my back, I stared up at the ceiling. I hadno idea what I was going to do.
I decided a shower would be the best idea. I always had mybest ideas in the shower. Sure, it was only 1pm and I’d showered only a fewhours before, but I needed it. I left the letter on my bed, forcing myself upand grabbing the still slightly damp towel that I’d left hanging over my chairon my way out.
As I made my way out of my bedroom and across the hallway tothe bathroom, my attention was caught by the doorbell. I hung back a moment, waiting for Mom to answer it and see who it was – probably one of her friends.
“Ah, Billy. What a nice surprise,” my Mom said without anounce of sincerity in her voice. As soon as I’d heard his name I dropped thetowel and ran toward the top of the stairs. Knowing my Mom, and her opinion ofBilly, I knew she’d get a kick out of telling him herself. I couldn’t let thathappen, he’d be devastated as it is, let alone if he heard it from her.
“Billy!” I shouted, catching both of their attention. Theconfused look on his face almost made me smile, but given the circumstances, Iwasn’t sure I’d ever smile again.
“Uh, hey.” Billy wasn’t stupid, and judging by the look onhis face, he knew something was off.
“Y/n’s got some big news, haven’t you sweetie?” My Momannounced, not even turning to look at me. Her eyes were fixed on Billy, clearly waiting for his reaction at my leaving the country.
“Why don’t you come upstairs, I’ll explain,” I told him, adding a small smile at the end, trying not to make it sound so sinister.
Without a word, he tipped his head at my Mom and made hisway up the stairs, following me to my room.
I picked my towel up on the way back, throwing it back intoits place over the back of my chair. Billy shut the door behind him as healways did, knowing it annoyed my Mom.
“Babe, what’s going on?” He hadn’t even sat down before heasked me. I sat on my bed, patting the space next to me.
“Okay so you know a few weeks ago I applied to thatUniversity in Paris?” I started, “Well, I got a letter back from them today.” Ihesitantly handed him the letter, letting him read it himself.
He was silent for a few moments as he read it, and Iprepared myself for the worst. I bit my bottom lip in anticipation, not beingable to help myself. My eyes moved from Billy’s face to the letter, and back tohis face again. I couldn’t read his expression, after all this time, I had noclue what this was.
“Billy would you please say something,” I begged quietly, unableto bear the silence any longer.
“This is uh,” he paused, licking his lips, trying to findthe words. “This is amazing, babe,” he smiled.
“What?” He looked at me, confused again. “This isn’tamazing. I applied to get my Mom and Dad off my back about College. I didn’tthink I’d get in!” I explained. “Do you think I want to move across the damnocean to study History?”
“Then why did you apply to Sciences Po Paris?” He asked, andI began to ask myself the same.
“I only did it because I was at a loss for what to do nextyear. I did it because I thought my chances were minimal, and then at least Icould say to them ‘oh well I tried.’ I was trying to buy myself some time.” Iwas so close to crying, I could feel the tears threatening to spill.
“Hey hey hey, calm down.” Billy shuffled closer to me, hisarm now around my shoulders. “You’ve got to go,” he asserted.
I looked at him incredulously, blinking quickly to make thetears disappear.
“I’m not going, I’m not leaving,” I declared.
“Of course you are. This is too amazing to turn down,” hepointed out, placing the letter back in front of me.
“I can’t leave you,” I couldn’t help the tears now.Everything I’d kept in was pouring out at once. “I know it sounds ridiculousbut I just can’t. I don’t want to be in a strange place away from home, especially without you.” I desperately wiped the tears away from my cheeks, hating how pathetic I looked when I cried.
“Who said anything about being away from me?” Billy countered;I turned to look at him, not quite following. “Why don’t I come with you?”
The frown of confusion on my face hadn’t shifted, and Billyquickly added, “I mean if you don’t want me to that’s fine I was just thinkingthat if we went together then maybe-“ I cut him off as my arms wrapped aroundhis waist tightly, practically lunging myself at him. “So is that a yes?” Helaughed.
“Of course it’s a yes.” I was crying, again, and I couldsense Billy’s annoyance at the damp that was now on his t-shirt.
Now I could think about it. I could breathe a sigh ofrelief. Only now did France seem like a good idea to me, now that Billy wascoming.
“Your Mom is going to fucking kill me.” Billy said with alaugh.
If you don't mind could you please do a part 2 to the billy interested in a ballerina one? It was so good I love the concept!
It’s up! x
