Even great marriages have terrible years, but don't give up. You will look back on this as a prelude to something richer and fuller than you can ever dream.
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
Jeremiah 17:9
Me: I feel like writing a "Get your sh*t together!" book about dating, love and relationships :P
Joey: You should!!
And so it has begun. getyourshttogether.tumblr.com Nothing's there yet. Go ahead, you can see you for yourself -Â click here. I'll still be here when you get back.
See, told you.
It's ok, I'll put something up there soon!!
Life is an airplane with overhead bins that you can just fill up, and fill up, and fill up, but there’s the point where you’re gonna have to pay for your extra bags and you’re gonna be like, I should pack lighter. So go through that baggage, see what’s going on, and see what you really need to hold on to and what you don’t.

This thing is staring me in the face.
It's 3 PM, on a lonely Saturday and this creamy goodness is staring me in the face. I'm trying to be a good girl and maintain my diet but this thing is really my ultimate temptation right now. Let me paint you a picture: there's a giant red velvet cake and a tub of frosting (cream cheese frosting at that) right in front of me and yet I am trying to live solely on ice and crackers today. I'm actually waiting for my mom to come home because she's bringing me a yummy Subway sandwich but in the meantime I'm staring at this cake wondering if I take just one bite, if that'll screw everything up.
These are the problems that I face.

Could this song seriously be any better?? Gah! I love this!!!! :) So fun!
People who live in fear choose stability over freedom.
Favorite song of the moment: Paradise (And I Know It) - Mashup Germany Paradise by Coldplay & Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO
Joey’s having me watch Immortals again - even though I insist it’s gory - but it’s ok because he’s adorable and I love him :)
I refuse to go to bed until sleepiness sets in! I've made that mistake too many times before!
Me, at 1 AM
Perfect song to motivate me in my Plan! So fun and energetic!!
Day 5: Progress Made
As I type this Toby, my maltipoo, is sleeping on his baby blanket at the foot of my parents' bed. My parents took a little staycation to San Diego for a few nights and got to go see Wicked (which I love, and judging from their phone call they loved too), a Padres game this afternoon, and plenty of dancing downtown. This is great news in my eyes because after everything that's happened in my home and between my dad and mom, I'm thrilled they are making time for one another separate from my sister and I - to be together! If you would've told me four years ago that my parents would've already taken multiple trips together this year, I would've told you to keep dreaming. Anyhow, with the Mr and Mrs out of the house this weekend, Kristy and I have been keeping tabs on Toby and house sitting (even though we actually live here). Whenever my parents leave, it's tradition that my sister and I sleep in their room - part comfort, part child issues I'm sure we have to work out eventually. Some people may think its weird - my sister and I being 23 and 22, respectively - but everyone in my family knows about my paranoia and anxiety over being alone - so they indulge me a little and let me sleep where it's comfortable for me! Technically now, it's Saturday, but my brain is still on Friday. Because this is the first week of my Plan, I've had to definitely do some adjusting and also not be incredibly strict when it comes to following my daily tasks. Calm down, it's just for this first week as I try and figure out what's working for me schedule wise. Thus far though, working out has been great! I've managed to survive this week on cough drops (which Joey lovingly bought me), Vitamin C, protein, lots of sleep and lots of green tea! I did Pure Cardio tonight and I'm genuinely surprised by how long I lasted! Since I did my workout super late at night (it's ok, I don't work tomorrow), I decided not to have the Insanity music on and turned my tv to mute so I wouldn't wake up Kristy or Toby. Then I plugged in my iPod to our mini speakers and danced along to Hairspray (which Kristy and I had just watched) while working out and sweating a ton! I've been incredibly sore - my legs more than anything, but people have noticed some kind of difference in me (or so they say). So I'll keep going and encouraging myself alongside Joey to find that happy place with the way I look and feel! I've also been slacking a little on my face routine this week mostly because I've still been recovering from being sick. By Tuesday night, the most important thing to me was to rest my body and sleep off this ridiculous cough. Today I definitely feel better, so that's a plus! I've been washing my face every morning and night with a gentle cleanser, then one morning a week I'm switching to just using my toner, and then two nights a week I'm exfoliating after cleansing. Then tomorrow, my busy Plan day, I'm doing a face mask or peel. Of this I absolutely notice a difference. I don't have as many breakouts, my skin is clearing up, and I've been alternating my moisturizer with Philosophy's dark spot corrector and slowly but surely I'm seeing my spots fade. In terms of everything else on my Plan for this week - I'm still getting to it. It's mostly all been moved to my To-Do list for tomorrow. Hey I have the day off, and am home relatively by myself, so I figured I'll spend the day and get my stuff together! I've also scheduled myself a haircut tomorrow afternoon as well as a car wash (much needed). I've got to finish my budgeting and I'll possibly get my oil changed in the morning - something that is months overdue!! I'm looking forward to spending Sunday with Joey: going to church, paroozing around Irvine and getting to visit with the newlyweds at their new place!! It was great to see them on Wednesday for the 4th of July BBQ! They look so happy and peaceful together. The wedding was so beautiful and such a blast, that I absolutely missed them and am glad they're back! Oh and one more thing to work on tomorrow: my bible study and prayers!!! Ok, I'm finally turning in for the night!! :) -EG
Day 1: Lesson Learned
Insanity Fit Test (don't laugh, these scores will prove me a hard worker by the end of this): Switch Kicks 70 Power Jacks 21 Power Knees 60 Power Jumps 10 (Yup. 10) Globe Jumps 4 (I know, I know) Suicide Jumps 1 (Don't even get me started) Push Up Jacks 2 (You can see things weren't looking great at this point) Low Plank Obliques 20 Today was the first day of my Plan! :o I didn't get much sleep last night at all on account of this insane cough, but by 10 AM I did Insanity's Fit Test, Day 1. I've watched Joey do Insanity before, so I know the craziness I'm in for, but I'm honestly quite excited to get started! I can't wait to see how I'll feel after 2 weeks of this monster! Took a quick shower, got ready for work half an hour early (right according to Plan) and that gave me time to wash dishes, clean up my makeshift sick-person bed on the couch, and eat my Mimi's Cafe leftovers from yesterday's outing! Then work came at noon and my cough got progressively better after the first embarrassing coughing attack. By 4:30 I was home, had put away the dishes, warmed up my dinner, and sat down to start this new blog! :D I had a few things on my Plan to do tonight - one of which included cleaning my room so I can start sleeping in my own bed again. But the blog took a lot longer than I expected, as did the email I wrote to a prospective client that I'm turning down. Part of this Plan is a set of rules I'm setting for myself - one of which is that I have to get used to saying "No" to people. Often I say "Yes" to way too many things, take on too much, and I end up getting stressed and not doing my best work on every project. So after my Friday meeting last week with the Prospect, I decided the project wasn't for me after all. I had to take the meeting to see what he wanted, and though during the meeting I said "Yes I can help", I've since had time to consider it more - I don't think you should ever just say "Yes" so quickly to a proposition. Lesson learned - I should've said "Let me take a beat to think about this." Oh well. My dad says it looks bad on me to say "No" today, as opposed to right after the meeting. I could argue with him because I was sick all weekend and still mulling it over - but what's the point. Regardless, I've got too much on my plate right now and have made my decision, if I burn a bridge so be it - in the end, this man wasn't someone I would've wanted to work with anyhow. So here it is 10:30 PM and I've still got my To Do List full: -Exfoliate -Plan budget (on second thought - I'll put this on Thursday's To-Do List) -Clean room -Work on Tristan's logo -Send Kara the email lists -Finish my laundry Better get to it!! :) -EG
