Could really tell two authors wrote it, almost like each alternating chapter was retconning the previous one. Kind of ruined the chemistry
Rather uneventful novel without an anticlimactic end
A depressing philosophical book thats like what if Walden was written by Fredriech Nietzsche. The general point is anyone who is not truly self reliant is a slave to the system and a parasite to humanity. Put me on the worst depression I ever had. Having not finished The Turner Diaries, Lady Chatterly's Lover or Lolita I wanted to finish one controversial book that wasn't catered to my preconceived notions and see if I was intellectual enough to see the benefit of an outsider view but this came off like a straw man's version of the libertarian shock humor minus the comic elements till it felt like a Bill Maher or Joe Rogan lecture on sheeple
The weakest of the series felt like it was just tying up loose ends
Another time traveling one to see pre colonized America this time with Megs daughter and not her brother Charles retreads themes in the other books but this and Many Waters have the most explicit Biblical references
One of the most scenic in the series but also marred by an escape that breaks the suspension of disbelief knocking it out as a contender for best in series
Remember the film more than the book which had different endings. Might read again but not high on my list but is one of few books with an interracial couple like Kindred or The Hate U Give which are better but this is a teen romance where the others are about the relationships per se
