love as an act of consumption in omniscient reader's viewpoint... the obvious example of kdj consuming twsa to survive, but also 1863rd hsy letting herself and the world be consumed because she loves kdj and wants to keep him alive. lsy offering her own story to the masses because she (incorrectly) thought it would help dokja. dokja only understanding her and deciding to try and have a relationship with her when shes consumed by fourth wall. od offering up body parts to help yjh. persephone, who becomes dokjas mother, introducing the concept of stories being sustanence. 999 being the lifetime where yjh decided to live for others, and hes also the kkoma who cooks dumplings for kdj. i just love how orv compares stories to food as something that not only keeps us alive but can have flavor and texture and be a comfort. and then theres the underlaying irony of yjh, the character controlled by the story, being a chef. he prepares the sustanence for others. but he also loves food and takes pride in it. he becomes his own person and he cooks for himself. can anyone hear me its dark in here.

This is a few months late because I’m not on this blog much anymore, but chapter 10!

Hey I saw the post on your blog of fanon not being accurate to characters, and was wondering if you like Bottom Joonghyuk? The fandom seems to only have Top Yoo Joonghyuk with Bottom Kim Dokja, it's hard to find people who like Bottom Joonghyuk. So I was wondering if you were one. What's your thought on Yoo Joonghyuk in fanon in general?

I've been on a long hiatus (I was preparing for my wedding) and now that I'm back (I got married! no more wedding planning and lots more free time), I thought why not answer this first?

Not gonna lie, I like any dynamic between Dokja and Joonghyuk. Who tops and who bottoms doesn't matter to me. Where dynamics get misconstrued in fanon is who takes the more dominant role and who takes the more submissive role. I can see the argument for it going either way, which is why I see them switching a lot.

As for fanon Joonghyuk in general.... It's not as bad as some fandoms I'll say that for sure. He does often fall victim to the "mean and rough and rude and uncaring alpha male blah blah blah" far too often though. I think I mentioned that in the post you referenced - that he was forceful and mean when he is anything but when he doesn't have to be. Fandoms also tend to lean the opposite way with making something funny everything about that character - like Dokja hating tomatoes, or Joonhyuk being obsessed with swords. I don' t mind that nearly as much especially when the person making the art, writing the fics, meta posts, etc knows that the character is more than that.

Joonghyuk is a very complex character and to reduce him to a raping "alpha bro" is....unfortunate to say the least

does anyone ever think about how anna croft is the biggest plot hole in orv. like she is 100% aware this is not the 3rd regression because she sends memories from her past self to her self in the next regression and um. she can count. so like if kdj ever told her "youll pay for betraying yjh in the last regression" she would be like what ??? are you talking about and inevitably ruin the grand reveal. does anyone ever think about that

This would be the case, but 1864 is not a normal regression turn!

[orv spoilers]

The ORV loop is confusing because it is intentionally only supposed to make sense on paper; the end overwrites the beginning, which then overwrites the end. Rather than thinking of 1864 as a new regression, it’s better to think of it as overwriting the third turn YJH.

1863 YJH regresses and uses the entirety of Hell of Eternity, including all of his memories of previous regressions, as payment in order to reach the world that he saw written on KDJ’s Fourth Wall. The world he saw took place in the “third turn.” So YJH regressed into the world of the third turn instead of a new world line.

In other words, besides the addition of KDJ, HSY, YSA, etc. and all the “noncharacters,” everything else is as it was in the original third round. That includes Anna Croft.

Also after the 999th round, Anna Croft stops sending her memories because she can't take it anymore

#im too lazy to find that part but it was so poignant to me because all i thought about for days after was how LONELY yjh had to be after #the one person who knew about the past started over.... the one person who knew him forgot him and started over #but yeah its unclear if she does it again after the 999th round but its possible especially if she doesnt mention the correct round #but i feel that moment is just a plothole lol #orv spoilers #not every yjh
