i do kind of loathe deltarune because of how obviously it reveal the misogyny of 90% of this website. ive played all the chapters, most of them multiple times, i love this game. and then i go in the tag and the majority of the content is for some random male character who AT BEST is a main character for one chapter and at worst doesnt appear in game at all. why is there so much gaster. why tenna why spamton why mike why. why. i know why but i want to hear you explain to me why. i want to hear you try to justify it.

1. how is there more "mystery" with spamtenna or gaster than there is with kruselle or dess.

2. spamtenna is not tragic, doomed, or yaoi. even if it was, it getting more attention than the female and nb main characters is a clear example of misogyny. the thing i was critiquing in the post. the fact that men get more attention than women is not something i just have to roll over and accept, actually.

3. "spamton body dysmorphia and tenna gay censorship" genuinely what the fuck are you talking about.

4. spamtenna is a single-line joke that you have to go out of your way to find in the game. you will not convince me there is more "interesting shit" there than there is for krusie or kruselle. which are, yknow. central to the game and the games themes.

5. really dont know how much more i can explain that "the several main characters in this game are coded as transfem eggs/tma are ignored by many fans almost entirely to focus on male characters who literally are not physically present at any point in the game" is an example of misogyny

Also the racism. When the Toby Fox Translation Drama happened you could not say like "hey that was kinda weird of him" without 50 ralsei pfps in your notes telling you it's really hard to make a video game and Toby needs every waking second of his life to work on deltarune so he can't spend 5 minutes googling "spanish gender neutral pronouns" and we need to get off his case and just make fan translations. Even the memes that were obviously played up for laughs got massive backlash.

And tbh i somewhat understand him not wanting to translate it yet, but like the reactions that white fans had and how none of them could concieve that latinos knew how to make jokes ticked me off so bad. Can you guys listen to people from the global south when they say "I think claiming our language isn't articulate enough for your vision is patronizing"?!?!?!

youre literally so fucking right but allow me to stay on my soapbox for a few minutes because while im so glad we've finally had a somewhat-confirmed sans/toriel situation, i remember when ut came out. the fact that anyone was debating if toriel would get back together with asogre when she explicitly and canonically said she wanted nothing to do with him has always felt to me as if her boundaries were not respected as a woman. i think dr is doing a much better job of making it obvious that she really wants Fucking Nothing to do with him (which it has the ability to in part because the existence of toriel/asgore is such a late game spoiler in ut) but i also feel like this lack of respect for her autonomy is directly what led to people calling her a bad mom for going on a date at the end of chpt 4. the same kind of people who want spamton moaning and drooling for it were suddenly talking about how "guys the game is about Kris. we have to talk about how Kris feels here." completely ignoring the fact that sans and toriel (to our knowledge) have no idea that any dark world stuff is going on. youre mad at a grown woman for going on a date when she has an ex husband who still stalks loves her and youre trying to pretend you care about kris as justification
