Actually Adopted AU where Misa is a Toffoli and they take in Sam as a billet for his rookie year. Someone said incest lite which is a statement I can acknowledge. Samisa get to navigate all the complicated feelings of being called brothers and also sneaking into each other's rooms every night...

Misa’s gay, he’s known that most of his life but he’s pretty chill about it in the way that it never occurred to him to come out to the team, let alone Cat and Toff, so he never did.

Toff eventually notices that Misa never has any girls over ever (he’s not rly a hooking up guy anyway) and talks about it with Cat. While they don’t necessarily want Misa to bring someone home all the time, they know that he’s obvs a grown up and all. They sit him down and kinda allude to it, and Misa’s uncomfortable as hell (they all are tbh) but he has been a little worried. The problem is that they don’t specify women, they didn’t think they needed to.

This turns into a problem when Toff wakes up in the middle of the night and notices the kitchen light on. He goes down to check and what the fuck can someone tell him why Sam Dickinson is in his kitchen at 2am????? Sam doesn’t pay him any mind, and when Toff asks what the hell he’s doing here just stares at him confused, says something about Misa and disappears back upstairs. Toff is #tootiredtodealwiththat, or short #tttdwt, and goes back to sleep, because he can wonder what the hell Sam Dickinson was doing in his kitchen at 2am tomorrow, right now he would please just like to sleep 🙏

This whole 'they're very respectful of each other' is driving me crazy because we also know that they've agreed not to prank each other, and that's a level of care and almost tenderness that is unthinkable for hockey players, especially a couple of 20s yo

they basically chose each other from the very first day at dev camp

one day they probably sat down in front of each other in their shared hotel room, looking at each other in the eyes and made a promise saying "im always gonna be the guy next to you and never the one turning you my back"

Insecure DRUNK Misa, who gets told he’s not good enough for Sam at the bar during one of the sharks post-win outings, and takes that shit seriously.

He gets all quiet (quieter than normal) and when they get home, just kinda curls up into Sam’s side because he feels bad for “not being good enough” and Sam, completely oblivious to everything that happened, is just happy to be cuddling with his Misa because that’s HIS MISA!

at the risk of being a little problematic with it…. samisa au where they are hooking up but it’s Not gay and it’s Not cheating (on their separate girlfriends) bc it’s just helping a bro out on the road. they don’t talk about it outside of the sanctity of hotel rooms, and better yet, they just don’t talk about it at all. sam reasons that it’s like masturbation+, it’s just another dude’s hand, it’s misa’s hand, that’s not infidelity!

and then it kind of goes from hands to mouth stuff, to almost penetrative sex…. and sam is still reasoning that it can’t be cheating bc he’s never going to do anything else with misa and if he doesn’t do anything else with misa then it can’t be gay either

everything stays the beautiful status quo until michael goes and breaks up with his girlfriend. or she breaks up with him, it’s very unclear and sam doesn’t exactly want to know the details. until it becomes crystal fucking clear that misa told her. sam has never been angrier in his life and misa keeps saying she’s not gonna tell anyone else! which feels very hard to believe bc ex-girlfriends you sort of maybe, kinda, cheat on don’t have a great track record of keeping stuff to themselves

but the season is ending anyways and they’re going back to toronto where sam will see his girlfriend regularly and everything will go back to normal. smash cut to the summer where sam keeps finding himself picking misa up to go do things like they’re still in san jose. misa’s location on sam’s phone is always at his house or the rink, and it makes sam feel bad. he can’t not text misa to be ready in five and then incessantly honk his horn waiting for him. the fact he can’t look his girlfriend in the eye now, might be a very big problem. and the fact misa always says yes, says yes to anything sam asks, that might also be a problem

luke and michael are supposed to share a room but michael’s bed stays suspiciously empty. he’s watching sam put his hands on mike’s hips, fingers dipping under his shirt, just to watch will try to convince mack that endurance training would be fine to start at 8:00AM, not 6:00AM. sam has luke’s brother pressed to his chest in the middle of the airb&b and no one is saying anything about it?
