"Playing Forever"

Whooh, I finally coloured it!! It only took a year and a whole lot of procrastination but I finally finished that WIP I posted.

I was really inspired by the song because it was such a tonal backlash in the game. It sounded sickeningly sweet, paired with the context that Sunny is destroying himself by continuing to run away from his problems. And so, I had an illustration idea in my mind.

Sunny is living vicariously through Omori while he sleeps soundly with his dream world friends, while his real world friends continue to hurt in silence

january 29th 2022

today i went to the record store and bought smashing pumpkins siamese dream on cd and then after went too the amine concert and i really just went bc my friend wanted me to go and i like concerts but it was really fun and he played all of his more famous songs (the only ones i know lol) so it was worth it. we were in a really good section right in front of the stage and i think there were staff for the opener or something sitting around us because the got a cup of whiskey into the venue which they dont even sell at the bars there... they offered some to me and i drank it and my mouth went numb... i dont think it was drugged tho because they were all drinking it and didnt seem too far gone. but yeah today was good and maybe the world isnt out to get me

today i stayed up so late doing nothing that i fell asleep at 8am and woke up at 3pm... something about doing that always makes me feel like my lungs wont let me breathe properly when i wake up. as soon as i woke up i took a shower though so that was nice and not the same as yesterday. i think im succeeding at growing up to be nothing at all. maybe ill ride my bike to the store down the hill.

today i watched a video on how ryan ross had an online journal and i fact kin him so i decided i would also do that. today i went to my friends house and ate potato soup and it was so good then we went to the fabric store to get a zipper cuz i got stuck in my dress. and then i took them home and i went home. in hopes to prove eveyday is not the same i will try to do something extravagant tomorrow

worried about seeing mychem in 2022 because i have a seat and need general admission because i will thrash around and go insane these people don’t understand. when i went to the weezer concert the people around me literally wanted to push me off the balcony because i was singing and dancing. people in seats are uncool i need floor.

after buying omori all the way back when it came out in december and playing it for six hours then forgetting about it for 9 month and picking it back to have it be the most life changing thing to ever happens to me. that game really felt like a game that took 6 years to develop. it was so beautifully heart wrenching the way they told the story and the way they made everything unravel it felt like it was all happening to me in real life. i’ve never felt so strongly like i needed more after already devoting 68 hours to the game just to finish it because i did so many of the side quests. it’s so scary how well it reads to real life as well. i could go on and on but i’m running out of words to describe how i’m feeling.
