This was done as a quick practice sketch to get used to my tablet (though I ended up spending a lot of time on it anyway, whoops). I wanted to try doing something cool with perspective, but ended up just making the perspective wonky instead. I really like how I did the hand, though! That one hand anyway. I kinda ran out of steam after that and just wanted to finish up the sketch, so... yeah. "hand"

I did the whole white-on-black thing because the game does, but I actually think it looks really neat. Might experiment with that sort of thing for future lineart sketches too.

Catgirl #27, Abagail the Pumpkin Witch! Played through Garden of Witches recently, it's such a cute game~

Ta-dah, digital art! I finally got a drawing tablet I like, and have started breaking out of my little traditional art comfort zone. Shading is kinda all over the place and I left out a lot of details on Abagail's hat, but perfect is the enemy of done etc etc. I still quite like how it turned out, though!

Catgirls #25 and #26, Misu the newbie maid and Sakuya the maid cafe owner. This was made for artfight; Misu and Sakuya belong to yuziii999 and ChocoChan respectively.

This was my first artfight attack! I think it turned out well :3 I did kinda mess up tho; artfight lets people set specific rules for drawing their characters, and ChocoChan doesn’t want their characters drawn with other people’s OCs unless it’s in a mass attack (which it turns out is a specific thing and not just “any attack targeting multiple artists on the other team,” whoops). They didn’t make a big deal out of it though, and both targets appreciated the attack. Still, a good lesson for me.

I still lack a scanner, so I’m just taking pictures with my phone and then editing them in photoshop. The trickiest part, I’ve found, has been getting the (real world) lighting to stay even across the piece without any shadows being cast on it. The best results so far have come from lying the piece down flat in a room with many ceiling lights, then standing as far away as I can to avoid casting my shadow on it.

Catgirls 23 & 24. Made this one for the vgen monthly contest.

Actually used ink for the lines for the first time, that went well. Shading with colored pencils is easier than I expected, although I have no idea if my colorblindness has caused any weirdness and that stresses me out. I still hate drawing hands.

I've been trying to figure out how best to get my art from the paper to the computer, since I don't have a scanner. I've been experimenting with different ways of photographing the art and then fixing things up in photopea. It's hard to get the lighting right

Catgirl 22, Pom the Cuisineer! This is just an unfinished sketch, but idk if I’ll ever get around to completing it, so I figured I’d post it as is.

Catgirl 21. Made for the vgen contest for march 2025, the theme was "parade." Kept it on the simple side since I was worried I'd mess it up by trying to add colors.

I also made a transparent / digitally colored sticker version for funsies afterwards, though

Catgirl 20. Zimmius, cat-dragon-girl-maid. I tried mixing two colors together for the hair, no idea how well it worked. Colorblindness makes this a bit difficult.

Greenie, a tentacle gal who likes cookies. I got a $5 pack of crayola colored pencils at the grocery store and have unlocked The Power of Color (but am still colorblind lol).

Also tried a more cutesy art style this time, and I’m a big fan of it. You’ll probably see more of it in the future.

Catgirl 19. Kittyllama, a catgirl/llamagirl combo. I messed up the face so much I feel bad about it. Maybe I should get an eraser one of these days just for faces and hands specifically.

Catgirl 18. Cali from Transmeowfication by @sadcoldcoffee. Catgirls and mad science are my two main aesthetics, and Cali showed up on my dash right when I needed something to help me break through an art block. Thanks Cali!

I tried a different style for the eye, and it worked way better than what I’ve been doing. I think I’ll keep experimenting with eye shapes/styles until I find something that really clicks with me. This is also technically the first colored piece I did, although just barely. I actually really like the yellow/gray color scheme Transmeowfication uses; I’m colorblind and yellow is probably the most vibrant color I can see.

I did this piece off-stream, so no speed-draw vid this time.

Catgirl 17. First go at charcoal. I tried to do a four-tone drawing, but I don’t think I made the shades distinct enough from each other. I might need more practice with this medium. Feels like it’s probably really good once you get used to it though.

Catgirl 14. Streamer friend of mine but I turned him into a catgirl. Definitely one of my best ones so far (and also the one I spent the most time on so far).
