The Forgotten Idol Theory

So, I've been listening to One Way Or Another by Blondie and outside of wishing they'll get the license to put it for Strings' fight, it got me actually thinking - her title is Forgotten. It's very prevelant and super important to whatever happened with her. Now we know about Harmony deals and how Harmony works, as well as the fact that there is something supernatural happening as well in the world. Now my theory is that Strings' deal with Harmony is why she is known as the Forgotten. There was something in that deal that made the world forget all about her after she went to sign it, after Charlie's death. I know there are some reveal posters about her in the offical art, but both her select screen in the game, as well as reunion poster from the prologue of the game shows simply a broken screen, someone gone, broken out of that convention, quite possibly not joining the reunion concert. Now, if she was essentially "erased" from people's minds, at least for the Idol she is, how would Charlie remember about her and know to go after her as she was a part of the band? Obvious - he was dead, unaffected by whatever deal Harmony has pulled. I know that Dancer isn't mentioned in the game by anyone either (outside of maybe Rori in Rhythm Divine Boss Remix if Celine is Dancer's name), but Strings isn't present at all, not even in the intro poster as I previously mentioned. Other Idols would be affected if Strings got her wish, it would align with her wish for freedom, the liberation from the shackles of being the Dead as Disco ex member, of being and Idol. Maybe she didn't like the fame she had gotten, so far all the other Idols we've met were happy with the fame, the influence, loving the spotlight. We haven't gotten an Idol that saw fame for what it was (all invasions of privacy and all) and hated it.

Alright so I saw a post today somewhere in here asking how DaD story is gonna end and just now it kind of hit me.

Since there's a lot of speculation that Charlie-Being-Back deal wasn't based in him selling his soul, but instead that it was someone else's, I can see two options actually.

We get the "good ending" and the "bad ending", where tbh both are just very gray in that matter and leave you with conflicting feelings. In the end, you are met with a choice of what to do with a contract that brought tou back to life. In "good ending", you take back the contract, come back to life for good and can actually come back to touring, as well as just be a part of Dead As Disco again – at the cost of damning that same soul. A soul for a soul deal, you could say. It would be a cool way to set off your Charlie on more selfish path, show that everything he went through that night actually affected him and he isn't as true to himself as he used to. Plus – it's a nice indulgance into the idea that the death of Charlie Disco might've been justified with something that he did in the past, a conflict and talking piece we've been hearing from the Idols. The Idols probably don't know about the price of that, probably aren't aware what was the cost of it and Charlie is fine with keeping them in the dark.

The "bad ending" would be ending the contract altogether – the one that used their soul is free, but so is your soul unfortunately. A bittersweet ending showing how you've kept with your morals, never to be consumed by corruption even with the grimmest of circumstance and we all know the goodest of the souls pay the heftiest of prices. So yeah, Charlie Disco fucking dies again lol

With the way cyberpunk as a genre never leaves those with golden hearts alive or not corrupted, I can see getting two bittersweet endings like this where each has pros and cons

(A sneak peak of something I've been working on for the past (almost) two weeks and fully intend on finishing) (Btw these are not OCs in there, I tried to work with what we got about Dancer, Strings and obv Benny, but took a little bit of artistic liberty lol) (I promise I'll draw more Charlie once I'm done with this lmaooo)
