One of my first soda fired pieces. We got really nice carbon trapping in this firing!
A set of luminaries I threw and carved out of NZ6 porcelain. This clay cracks so easily while drying, but it's by far the most translucent clay I've worked with! This was also a great project for practicing pulling really uniform, straight walls.
One of my first projects that I was really, fully happy with the result! Mugs inspired by turkey tail mushrooms on fallen tree branches. These are helmer clay, soda fired with various flashing slips. I recently added a thin line of gold luster on the edge of each mushroom.
