How he’d managed to get on the high ground above her he’d never know.

That never happened. The cowboy had had a couple of unfortunate run-ins with the Talon assassin in his time, and even less times had he actually seen her face, what she looked like now. But of course he still remembered - Amelie. It was her, even if her skin was now blue like ice and even if the only way she’d look at him now is through the scope of her rifle.

His first reaction is to say hello. It’s somewhat instinctual, and he quickly shrugs it away. 

His second reaction is more defensive. Hide the sudden emotions have have washed over him upon seeing an old associate of Overwatch again and what she’s become in the years since Overwatch’s fall. Say something snarky.

“Looks like you’ve stepped into my parlor,” He calls out from above, a smirk on his face as he clicks his revolver, aimed directly at her. Just in case.

“Says th’cowboy to the spider.”

“If that was the case, I’d probably be dressed the same as you, mate.”  A quick whip back to the man dressed as whatever he was dressed in.  The thought of the guy not knowing who he was did bring some sort of ease to the captain, but it was also quite troublesome. 

“So the name Capt’n Jack Sparrow doesn’t ring any bells?  Capt’n o’ the Black Pearl? Pirate Lord of the Caribbean?  Nothin’ at all?”

The cowboy’s eyes narrowed. Touche, he supposed, but he wouldn’t accept it. People didn’t know who McCree was here either, despite the fact that he’d been in the news numerous times.

He blinked slowly as the man said his name and many monikers. Not a single bell.

“Nnnnope. Nothin’ at all. Y’sure act like yer a big deal but I really can’t confirm that for ya, pardner.”

I might be used ta it, but that don’t mean it ain’t overwhelmin’ at times.” He blinks and scratches his stomach before looking up at the man. “Sure is unusual ta find a human who kin see yokai. Maybe you know a place where a fella kin find some ice cream ‘round here?”

“Yep. Dependin’ on where y’are, th’buildins even more around, so y’gotta keep an eye out for those things. I come from cities too, and I ain’t ever seen one like this.” He nods a little, his neck starting to hurt from looking down at the small creature.

“This here’s Hive City. I wish I could tell ya more, but that’s pretty much all I know about it.” A slow blink followed. “Yo...kai? I ain’t ever heard of Yokai...so I couldn’t tell ya much ‘bout that but well, I do know a nice cafe.”

Both Graves and Twisted Fate were known for their infamy, granted Yasuo couldn’t speak for himself after all, there was a reason so many Ionians want him dead.

“But I’m going to take a guess and say this ‘friend’ of yours wears similar clothes or has a similar weapon, right?”

BAMF … What the hell does that even mean? .. That some sort of gang? An organization? That odd ‘text talk’ people use in this city? 

He couldn’t help but let out a laugh at that. What a coincidence that people like that would remind the man of McCree. He supposed the similarities were grand enough, even if he had never personally seen these people.

“An outlaw? Sure, yes, y’could call me that. A con-man? Hardly. I’d say more along th’lines of bounty hunter, but those two sound like people I’d get along with.”

“Similar weapon t’his brother, actually. But in looks, yer similar t’him. Similar outfits even...you Japanese?”

He was still staring at that belt...maybe he’d have to explain it soon enough.

Overwatch were heroes and what not, but even though he’d hardly call himself a hero anymore, he couldn’t stand by and watch someone get injured. Especially not someone like Din, who certainly didn’t deserve it. Her smile is contagious, and McCree can’t resist smirking back.

“Heh, y’know it. I got that eagle eye, y’know. Ain’t no danger gonna escape me. Like an old friend of mine would say - I got you in my sights.”

“’Spose you’re right about that too! Not that that’s anythin’ I actually want to do or anythin’.................but if th’opportunity arises, I ain’t gonna deny it.”

Part of the reason McCree even bothered to get close to the goddess was because of her relationship with his friend Genji, but he’s starting to learn there’s more past that. She’s an extremely pleasant person to be around, if not a little fiesty, and he quite enjoys his conversations with her. He might be making sure he’s got the cash to spare in case he runs into her so he can buy her food and some of her company.

He’d continued to run, but as Din spoke, he slowed down for a moment, and put her down. Those words felt somewhat bad...he didn’t have many problems to deal with here.

“Tch, to be honest with ya? I never found myself with more free time than I do in this here city.”
