To Prevent a Massacre

The delay strangled him restless, enough to pace to and fro as he stretched his legs from beginning to end. The coach prearranged wasn’t very extravagant , perhaps even confined if he was being honest with himself. The seating unfortunately open, grid with distance , wide off from the walkway. When they abruptly applied the brakes ; the screech deafening. The sudden shift causing several passengers to lose footing, or even balance in their seats. Objects splayed scattered upon impact. It’s halt struggled at the rate of speed it was suddenly flung from. When it finally began to conclude movement, smoke billowed from the undercarriage. The route had been far from the desired destination, nor was the unintentional stop anywhere civilized. Broad were the forest walls looming not even five feet from the railroad tracks. Conjuring ominous shadows through the thin panes off from the windows. Hours passed whilst Grayson was obviously growing agitated , the moon was beginning to have her hold. She wasn’t long now before her peak. He knew the risk taking train but he figured he would have arrived by now. An estimation unfortunately did not take into consideration any delays that were plausible. He could feel the effect crawl from the back of his neck, however. Like a presence he couldn’t quite pin, it caused him to shudder , straining the nerves which stirred under his panic.

Again he shot from his seat to pace. “ Where the hell is the Conductor ?! I wish to speak with the driver ! “ His essence poured irritable and guttural than he would have liked. An intimidating demand that had many of the passengers shy their gaze away.
