In honor of Earth Day, here are some stunning pictures of our beautiful world as seen from space.
My love for this man and this song are infinite!
Plain - Jesse Boykins III
I'll add that I was dancing this way to this song before I ever saw the video lmao.
Six simple rituals: 1. Drink a glass of water when you wake up. Your body loses water while you sleep, so you’re naturally dehydrated in the morning. A glass of water when you wake helps start your day fresh. 2. Define your top 3. Every morning ask yourself, “What are the top three most important tasks that I will complete today?” Prioritizes your day accordingly and don’t sleep until the Top 3 are complete. 3. The 50/10 Rule. Solo-task and do more faster by working in 50/10 increments. Use a timer to work for 50 minutes on only one important task with 10 minute breaks in between. Spend your 10 minutes getting away from your desk, going outside, calling friends, meditating, or grabbing a glass of water. 4. Move and sweat daily. Regular movement keeps us healthy and alert. It boosts energy and mood, and relieves stress. 5. Express gratitude. Gratitude fosters happiness. Each morning, think of at least five things you’re thankful for. In times of stress, pause and reflect on these things. 6. Reflect daily. Bring closure to your day through 10 minutes of reflection. Asks yourself, “What went well?” and “What needs improvement?”

He pictures the evening he might have spent, snugly at home, fixing the food he has bought, then lying down on the couch beside the bookcase and reading himself slowly sleepy. At first glance this is an absolutely convincing and charming scene of domestic contentment. Only after a few instants does George notice the omission that makes it meaningless. What is left out of the picture is Jim, lying opposite him at the other end of the couch, also reading; the two of them absorbed in their books yet so completely aware of each other’s presence.

American newspapers just seizing the opportunity to have a little fun with slavery. Totally accidental and/or harmless. In other news: microaggressions are common verbal, behavioral, and environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile or negative slights to marginalized groups. (via Donovon X Ramsey)
What do you think? Catchy headlines or microaggressions?
The last two I could write off as just lazy editing
The first two? Motherfuckers playing games
All of them are intended to demean. You could shorten the film title to “12 Years” just as easily and actually more descriptively, but throwing the word “Slave” around with “master” and pictures of Lupita Nyong’o is a way of re-emphasizing how US society views Black people.
Really? US Media. Someone conduct some sensitivity training with these people. She "played" a slave in a movie. "'Slave' becomes master?" Definitely micro-aggression.
