This web site documents improvements Swan Housing have made to The Exmouth Estate. Swan Housing took over a troubled estate, one sorely in need of maintenance and extensively renovated it. Tower Hamlets Council did the best they could, but money just wasn't there. The Exmouth Estate today is a much nicer, much, much better place to live than it was before Swan Housing became our social landlord. Today The Exmouth Estate is more secure than it ever was. Notice that we publish PHOTOGRAPHS of The Exmouth Estate NOW. You'll notice some people on the internet and youtube are repeatedly posting pictures and stories from as along as FIVE YEARS AGO, stridently insisting the problems still exist, or that there is widespread "intimidation". Rubbish. These five or six troublemakers are telling lies and making things up. There is no intimidation. Everyone is free to speak their minds. When there were problems many people spoke up, using their REAL NAMES, not HIDING behind internet screen names as these COWARDLY troublmakers do. When these people complained using their REAL NAME the problems got fixed. These heroes never once complained of "intimidation". The claims of the troublemakers are rubbish. And ask yourself who in their right mind would consider a DOORSTOP a "danger to life and limb", and then post DOZENS of videos of it? You are correct: someone who clearly has mental problems, that is who. If they think there are still problems on The Exmouth Estate, let them post pictures of THE PRESENT. And do so under their real names, instead of making false accusations ANONYMOUSLY. We maintain - and our photographs prove it - any problems WERE FIXED LONG AGO. These five or six rubbish troublemakers are making noise about nothing. We residents of The Exmouth Estate say THANK YOU to Swan Housing ! and Technorati says 6EM72B3AU74P
Residents of The Exmouth Estate would like to say 'Cheers' to Swan Housing, who took over from Tower Hamlets a property sorely in need of maintenance and renovation.
They embarked on a multimillion pound regeneration and now The Exmouth Estate looks pretty good. Go to a nearby Council run estate and you'll immediately notice the difference in living standards that having a private landlord makes.
Swan Housing has several partners who are very helpful to us residents of the Exmouth Estate here in E1.
If you have a problem those lads will sort it out. We had a problem in our building and the call was taken quickly, the lads came out later and fixed it. Easy peasy. Under the Tower Hamlets Council this same problem took WEEKS to get fixed - each time! They never fixed it rather just meddled about.
I've been living on The Exmouth Estate for a long time, and how fast Swan Housing and their partners repair problems.
Swan Housing has done a lot of work since acquiring The Exmouth Estate in 2005. Spent millions of pounds in fact!!
We residents wanted to cheers to Swan Housing for all their hard work.
The regeneration of the Exmouth Estate was a big and necessary project as LBTH had not carried out proper repairs nor maintenance. The result was appaling.
Swan Housing carefully planned and executed the multi million pound regeneration project. Carried out over a period of almost two years, it was a very complex and very difficult project.
Anyone who disagreed could have voted against this choice and some did so.
But the majority of Exmouth Estate residents wanted Swan Housing. We are glad we made this choice, and have reaffirmed this vote many times since.
At our recent Exmouth Estate AGM the majority of residents once again voted for Swan Housing..
This is how democracy works, and the quality of work Swan Housing has done since proves this was a good choise.
of Exmouth Estate videos, showcasing how happy the majority of residents are with Swan Housing. Now that the regeneration is complete we can expect resident satisfaction to increase as we all reap the benefits of Swan Housing's hard work.
Swan Housing Exmouth Estate video entrance systems reduces ASB
We've got a wonderful new entrance system, thanks to Swan Housing and their extensive regeneration programme. The system that Tower Hamlets provided was old, obselete and broken down often.
We residents of the Exmouth Estate LOVE what Swan Housing has done to Brayford Square. Previously it was litter strewn and an eyesore. Now its clean and much more pleasant. Here a resident watches approvingly as Swan staff put the finishing touches on the regeneration.
This is a another view of just how great a job Swan Housing did on the Jamaica Streeet regeneration.
I have friends in this building, and before the regeneration this was a block on The Exmouth Estate where non residents congregated as the locks were broken. Needless to say, ASB abounded.
Now there are few problems, I don't worry about going to visit my friends late at night. The locks work. It looks clean and bright.
Before Swan Housing took over our estate this was an unusable public walkway, but now it is maintained to a high standard. It is a public walkway, meaning non residents can and will pass through, so this part of the estate needs more work from Swan Housing.
Each morning we can see their staff removing rubbish and other debris from this public space.
Now the walkway is usable. Before it was very, very messy and almost unusuable. But the regeneration has really helped improve things; far, far much better than when we were with Tower Hamlets.
Our vote to transfer to Swan Housing has been validated by the high quality of the regeneration work they have done. Previously this estate was run down, Tower Hamlets didn't have the money to repair or regenerate it.
Swan Housing carried out an extensive regeneration effort.
As part of the extensive regneration programme, Swan Housingp installed these lovely planters across the Exmouth Estate.
We local residents keep them weeded after selecting and planting flowers each spring.
Good thing too, as they really improve quality of life, seeing a little green. They also seem to reduce ASB. Tower Hamlets never did anything like this for us!
We residents love the new entranceways Swan Housing has installed across the Exmouth Estate. The old entranceways dated from the 1970s and were very unsightly by comparison.
The new entraceways because they are much more robust than the old, which were constantly broken or jammed, leaving some blocks with no security. The old entrance ways were from the 1970s, and were old and discoloured. These new entranceways provide increased security and give residents pride in their estate.
This is a fantastic addition to our block, and a welcome change to the entire Exmouth Estate.
Regeneration of The Exmouth Estate have created these beautiful communal gardens. The multi million pound regneration effort culminated with the installation of high security gates across the Exmouth Estate.
These gates have created private gardens for many blocks as green spaces were effectively closed to non residents.
