Snowy Disaster
@mpxyuna
As Jooyeon finished his morning course, he noticed an email pop up. His professors cancelled his afternoon courses, and he was free for the day. As he got outside, the snow had already covered the ground, and he decided that it was for his best to go ahead and head home. So, he hurried down the street with only a small stop at the local convenience store to stock up on a few snacks and treats.
He was amazed by how fast the snow collected, and by the time he finally reached the apartments, he noticed how stacked the snow became in front of the door. He made the decision then to enter the nearest complex, one for the Norse pantheon. It was a struggle to even get through the door, but finally, Jooyeon settled in the hallway, seeking out shelter there. And, he would sit along the hallway for hours until he could no longer stand the small cold that leaked under the doorframe.
Jooyeon felt like he was left with no choice, and he stood up, going to the nearest door. Knocking on it, he stood, shivering, hair still damp, and with his hands shoved in his pockets. He had no idea who was on the other side of the door, but all he could hope was they would be kind enough to let him in. When the door finally opened, he looked at Yuna nearly with disbelief.
But, he summoned the courage to speak. “You don’t have to let me in, but I’m trapped.”
Yuna had been streaming most of the day, so she had been rather surprised when she got an emergency alert about some kind of sudden blizzard - but, she hadn’t been planning on going out that day anyway, so she had just happily gone back to her game with an off-handed comment to her audience. By the time she ended the stream and got up to look out the window, she was fairly shocked to see the blank white expanse outside, all flurrying snow and the vague shaded outlines of buildings.
Whatever, it would clear up soon... right? She set to making herself a cup of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows, humming along to a pop song. It seemed like the perfect day to curl up with a drink and a blanket to binge the next big thing on her watch list, so that was exactly what she planned to do. But, just as she was about to settle on the couch, someone knocked on the door. She nearly dropped her mug when she opened it and saw Jooyeon standing there, looking like a drowned kitten.
“Jooyeon! Were you out in all that mess? Oh my god, come in,” she replied without a thought, stepping aside. Any and all hard feelings aside, she wasn’t going to leave him out there to freeze. She just hoped he wouldn’t make any nasty comments, or things would get pretty awkward. Maybe he had taken some time to reflect and calm down since she last saw him.
“Here,” she held out the mug of fresh cocoa toward him with a wary smile. A peace offering. “I just made it. Are you wet? I might have a big sweatshirt that will fit you, if you want to change. I’ll grab some extra blankets and a towel for your hair, too.”
SNOWY LIVE PERFORMANCE — YUNA
what the hell;
@mpxjooyeon
Yuna had been super excited for the ball. She had spared no expense commissioning an amazing Yennefer costume from a seamstress on Etsy, and she felt absolutely stunning in it. How could she not, when she was channeling such a baddie? As she made her way to the event, she was sure it was going to be a great night.
Until she walked in and came face-to-face with him.
It really felt like some god of fate was messing with her. What else would explain her ex-boyfriend showing up at the party as Geralt? What were the chances of that? Sure, she and Jooyeon were both gamers, but this felt like some kind of vindictive twist of fate. She should have just been a fucking Among Us character.
“Have you been stream-stalking me, or what?” Maybe it was a bad idea to say something like that, but it seemed like the only rational explanation for this mishap. After all, she knew that she hadn’t copied him, and she had mentioned her costume plans a few times on stream over the last couple of weeks.
Shin Yuna as Yennefer of Vengerberg (The Witcher)
The only thing more horrifying than finding out her ex-boyfriend is on the island is accidentally showing up to the Hallow’s Eve Ball in matching costumes. But Yuna knows she looks fantastic as Yennefer and she is determined to try to have a good time, despite the circumstances.

Jooyeon thought he had gotten over that night already, and even, he had processed nearly all stages of grief with the scene. Denial momentarily that it could ever happen to him. Anger as he cursed Yuna to her face and ended his gaming career that evening. Bargaining and depression as he made the decision to move the island. And, acceptance should have shown as he stood here before her, accepting the realty of their relationship and the betrayal he felt. Yet, he felt something completely different.
He was pissed.
Reaching up, Jooyeon grasps the metal shelf for a sense of stability, slightly warping the metal under his grip. He had no idea why the fates did such to him, but he did know that he had lost his appetite. “I thought you would be with your little boyfriend, cheering him on in training for next season.” He scoffs, leaning a bit closer to her. He wonder she was one of those demigoddesses whose powers related to lying, because there was no way she could act this good. “Or, were you using him too?“
Yuna let out a sudden humourless laugh, half bitter amusement and half shock - if she didn’t laugh, she probably would have cried. “Boyfriend? What kind of fucked up joke is that?” It made her feel a little sick to even think about it - she had had to take three showers after his pervy teammate put his hands all over her. She had never felt so gross in her entire life, and it was all the worse because so many people had seen it.
Even Jooyeon had seen it. And somehow thought that she had wanted it. In hindsight, she really wished she hadn’t been so worried about making a scene at the event. At least if she had done a little kicking and screaming people probably wouldn’t have jumped to the conclusion that she had been messing around with the guy behind Jooyeon’s back. It still would have been humiliating, but at least it wouldn’t have hurt anyone else.
A small shudder went through her and she crossed her arms, averting her gaze. “If I never see that creep again, it’ll be too soon.”
mphan:
excuse me, do you know technology
absolutely certain the girl must be asking him about some technology term, jisung takes a second look at his phone and frowns lightly. “no, it’s a samsung. galaxy, i think?” he’s really not well-versed in cellphones and their types, but he got this one from his mother not long before he came to the island, so even though it’s not the newest one it’s still very decent, he thinks.
luckily the girl seems convinced to help him, because she carefully takes the phone from him and looks at his screen. after a moment, she asks him what he wants to change the name to and he instantly starts to grin brightly.
“something like boyfie’s business fund!” he instantly chimes, clearly not embarrassed at all about the name he has decided to give the account that holds the funds he is keeping to help felix out should he need it. “can you show me how you do it?” he promptly sides up with the girl to be able to look at his screen as well in hopes of getting a step-by-step instruction from her.
Yuna had to stop herself from scoffing, suddenly wondering if this was actually a 90 year old man who just looked like he was around her age. Maybe that wouldn’t have been so surprising in Mount Phoenix. “Yes, it’s definitely a Samsung Galaxy. My mistake,” she commented, an amused smile tugging at her lips.
“Uh... Can you spell that?” She asked, looking up at him curiously. This guy sure was weird. But hey, it was nice that he was apparently helping out his boyfriend with some business venture. Or, at least, she was pretty sure that’s what his chosen account name indicated. “Yeah, sure,” she replied, tilting the phone screen so that he could see what she was doing as she went into the settings and typed in the new name.
“By the way, you probably shouldn’t ask randoms to do stuff in your banking app, you know. Someone could take advantage and steal all your money or something,” she commented, trying to keep it casual so that he did not get an inkling that it had crossed her mind to do just that, herself.
YUNA 💠 KCON LA ( 220820 )
mpxjooyeon:
A Major In(Convenience)
@mpxyuna
Jooyeon had not minded the island so far. It was a different atmosphere than Seoul had been for him, and after all the chaos over the last few months, he needed a change of pace, a new air. And, after a long stream with a bit too many annoying games, he had ended the stream so that he could go for a walk and to grab him a bowl of ramen. Even after years alone, cooking clearly had not been his expertise.
He had taken his time to get to the nearby convenience store. The weather was just right, cool enough for him to finally return to his long sleeve shirts. So, the anger seemed to dissipate by the time he entered the store. By now, he had been enough times to know right where to go, but as he reached to grab his favorite flavor, his hand grazed another, much smaller hand.
Turning his head, he immediately sought the owner and what surprise lingered quickly turned to anger. Seething through his teeth, he glared at her. “You. Why the hell are you here. ”
Yuna’s post-stream meal of choice had always been ramen, her health be damned. It had started that way because she had been flat broke when she started streaming, but now it was ritual. Even if she could afford caviar, she would always go for her favourite convenience store ramen. And that was exactly what she was on the hunt for when she left the house that night, already bundled up in a cute set of sweats and ready to chill out for the rest of the night.
She had gone right to the usual spot in the store, head down and headphones in, eager to stock up and get back home. It had been a little surprise when someone else had reached for the same pack of noodles as her, but she been prepared to just mumble an apology and maybe find something else, if they insisted on taking it for themselves. But then she looked up, and the face that greeted her made her freeze in place, wide-eyed like a fawn faced with a speeding semi-truck.
She probably would have preferred the truck.
Her hand recoiled like she had been slapped, a look of hurt crossing her face before she could make the conscious effort to hide it. The venomous words weren’t surprising, but they still stung. “Because I have unhealthy eating habits?” She replied, trying to keep her voice neutral. “I could be asking you the same question - but I think the answer’s pretty obvious.” Unfortunately.

“Emails can be important, so I don’t think its dumb. Maybe if you would be wasting time with one of those emails where the person claims they are some prince from a remote country… Those are weird.” Yeji had a tendency to go on a whim with her words at times, mostly due to the fact she finds them pertinent. “Oh yeah! But I don’t think they’re dangerous, at least not on purpose. The other day I was running late to work and bumped into this man jogging, he was tall and it felt like running towards a boulder!"
Her voice was enthusiastic, describing the incident in a more funny manner rather than tragic. Being clumsy was part of her nature, something Yeji had embraced and had no shame in admitting. "But yeah, better keep an eye out!”
At the confirmation, this girl was indeed one of Yeji’s idols, the daughter of Inari smiled quite brightly and her tail wagged quite energetically, a detail that wouldn’t pass by unnoticed most likely. “I’m Yeji! My brother helped me understand how to watch streams and I found yours to be the funniest and also I like your, uh… What’s it called? Interface? The colours of your channel, their cute!” Internet and technology were a rather new world to Yeji and certain terms were still confusing to her. “So, you live here, that means you’re a demi like me! Have you been in the island for long time? Is your parent the god of streams? Does that exist at all?”
“Does anyone still fall for those scam emails?” Yuna wondered aloud, not really looking for an answer from Yeji. Maybe 90-year-olds - but in 2022, she would expect even great-grandparents to be a little more internet savvy than that. After all, there were even seniors with TikTok accounts these days. They were probably outliers, but they were awesome.
“Nice to meet you, Yeji! And thank you! I put a lot of effort into my aesthetics,” she commented, quite pleased with the compliment. It was always nice when people appreciated her work, after all. “Oh, do you think there would be a god of streams? I think all the gods are pretty old, right? So probably not... My mom is Freya, though; the Norse goddess of fertility or something.” She paused, holding out her open hand and letting a daisy bloom in her palm. “Those flowers I make appear on stream aren’t just parlour tricks!” She said in a half-whisper, smiling conspiratorially as she tucked the flower behind Yeji’s ear.
She bit her lip, looking at the other girl for a long moment. “Okay, sorry, I gotta say something. I hope this isn’t rude, but... is that a tail? Like a real one? Is your parent like a... fox god? Cat god?”

mpxlucien:
Lucien did know why he expected her to be more tolerable in person, but he was met with the inevitable realization that she would be this annoying all of the time. He hoped when the other comes to town that he can mellow her out, but by seeing how excitable she already is, he doubted that immensely. He could already feel the start of a headache. I have no luck.
Sighing, he shakes his head. “Do you always have this much energy?” He states, rolling his eyes. Reaching down, he flicks her forehead without a chance for leniency. “You are outrageous. I feel drained already.” Lucien tosses the clipboard into the seat of the car, grabbing her gently by the ear to drag her further away from his coworkers.
“He will be here soon. He has some more arrangements to handle before he can get here. Told him its his problem if he cannot get here unscathed though, since he is taking forever.” He grumbles under his breath so that she can hear. A knowing grin pulled on his lips as he leaned to whisper. “Though, in his defense, he isn’t in a hurry, trying to run away and hide from an embarrassing breakup.”
Yuna really had to make an effort to not make another joke about his age when he asked if she was always so energetic. He was just making the boomer jokes way too easy. But she managed to hold her tongue, not wanting to overdo it. Comedic timing and all that. “I’m a streamer - you don’t get popular online by being boring,” she pointed out instead, shrugging one shoulder. He would just have to get used to it.
“Hey!” It came out sharp and loud, but she managed to stop herself from any further outburst, biting her tongue and letting a pout settle on her lips. “Low blow, dude. That’s not even why I came here - I had an awesome penthouse lined up in Seoul and everything, but some meathead idiot attracted too much international attention. Besides, you can’t run away from the internet. Duh.” Not having the potential to run into anyone she knew before in person was maybe a bit of a bonus, though.
“Geez, I hope he’s not as uptight as you. I can only handle so much repressed middle-management energy IRL.”
mphan:
excuse me, do you know technology
@mpxyuna
there’s about fifty different things he could be doing with his life right now, of which at least fifty-five would be more useful and productive than what he is doing. so it’s no surprise that he’s a little frustrated with it all right now. if it wasn’t a necessary accessory to keep his boyfriend updated about exactly how useless it actually is, han would’ve thrown his phone against a wall already at this point.
he has very little patience for things not working right, after all, and currently he’s got absolutely no clue how to make his phone do what he wants it to. in the midst of his despair, he looks up at the people around him, absolutely certain that no one in the whole wide world could help him, until his eyes fall upon a young woman with her phone in hand who looks like she’d be capable enough to help him. he bases his opinion just on the fact that she’s holding a phone and looking much more at ease with it than he does, but that’s beside the point.
“excuse me,” he instantly goes walking over to the young woman, phone already reached out towards her, showing off the stocks screen of his bank app, with the rather high numbers of his net worth clearly visible to anyone who’d want to look. “do you think you could help me with this? i’m trying to change the name of this one account but this stupid app won’t let me! i need you to help me, please please please.”
he throws in an extra pout for good measure, not to try and convince her into helping him like that, per se, but more because he can’t do anything but pout at this misfortune he’s facing.
Yuna had developed something of a morning routine in Mount Phoenix, making her way to the coffee shop and enjoying her iced macchiato while she responded to DMs, drafted posts, and checked up on what her mutuals were doing on social media. Some wouldn’t view it as the most productive morning routine, true, but it was productive for her - and it got her out of the house, which was a plus.
She was just in the middle of adding a caption to one of her TikTok drafts when a guy approached her, holding out his phone to her before he had even really said anything. She raised an eyebrow, looking down at the phone as he explained the situation. Which is when she noticed what was on the screen, and her jaw dropped open.
“... Is this a bait?” She asked, looking back up at him in disbelief. He certainly didn’t look like he would be working for any of the government organizations that had her hacker persona on their watch lists, but it seemed like it had to be some kind of trap. What kind of idiot would essentially just hand their bank account to a complete stranger? Especially when they seemed to be loaded? You would have to be brain dead or insane to do something like that.
If it was a bait, though, she was not going to take it. Disseminating wealth from individuals wasn’t really her style, anyway. So she took the phone - carefully, as if it were made of porcelain. She was definitely still wary. “What did you want to change the account name to?”

mpxdavina:
Davina had been busy all day in the pharmacy. Several people had been developing colds around the island with the changing weather, and she was on overload, trying to get the different teas and medicines to combat the sickness and symptoms. By the time Yuna arrived, she had dirt marks smudged along her cheeks and was in process of drinking her own tip of tea in hopes to prevent herself catching anyone else’s germs.
She had barely looked up from her mug when she heard the exclamation from the other. Coughing as she choked down her drink, her eyes widened as she went around the counter to get one more good look at Yuna. With little hesitation, Davina launched forward, wrapping her arms around the woman’s neck.
“Oh golly! It is too long of a story to tell! I’ve missed you so much!!!”
Yuna laughed when Davina practically tackled her in a hug, wrapping her arms around the other girl’s middle and giving her a tight squeeze. “I missed you too! I was worried I was never going to hear from you again!” She replied, pouting at the very thought. It had been rather distressing to her when Davina, one of her most trusted mods, had suddenly fallen off the face of the earth. She had not even been able to find much about where the other girl might have been with her hacking skills - and evidently there was a reason for that, because she had never thought Davina would be in Mount Phoenix.
“Well, you’re gonna have to tell me that long story sometime, yeah? We should have a girls’ night! Do you still have my number? Just let me know when you’re free and as long as I’m not streaming I am so down!” She certainly hoped it was a story that the other girl wouldn’t mind telling - that nothing awful had happened to cause her absence. She seemed to be at least physically fine, which was a big relief.

It was Yuna’s one day off from streaming, which meant that it was an errand day. She had already been to the grocery store and to explore some of the city’s boutiques and specialty shops, and her last stop was the pharmacy for some multivitamins and iron pills. Because apparently her lackluster diet wasn’t quite cutting it. Maybe it would have been a good idea to consider hiring a personal chef - she certainly had the money for it.
Bopping along to the bubblegum pop blaring through her headphones, she wandered into the hospital and followed the signs to the pharmacy, going right to the counter. “Hi! I need some...” Her eyes had been scanning the shelves behind the counter, but when they locked on the pharmacist she interrupted herself with a started gasp.
“Wait! Davina? Oh my god! Where have you been, bestie?”
chance encounter;
mpyeji:
Being naturally curious, either due to her heritage or simply the way Yeji was, her focus could shift to the littlest details. The people in Mount Phoenix were very interesting on in her eyes so observing them was semi-hobbie Yeji didn’t realize she’d start. Of course this had brought her some rather awkward situations in the past, being mistaken for a stalker or simply perceived as having bad intentions towards them. And yet, this time, her eyes were locked on a girl that seemed rather familiar. Her ear twitched, seeing the other stepping closer. However, this girl’s head was leaning over her phone, a device Yeji had yet to fully understand why some found it so appealing, including her own twin.
By the time Yeji decided she was courageous to approach the stranger, the girl was way too close but certainly, she’d lift her head and pay attention. Or so Yeji thought. Seeing the speed of her pace, Yeji’s quick reflexes kicked in and the Japanese demigoddess managed to dodge and avoid bumping into the other. “Are you okay? You were looking down for a while!” Yeji was still startled at what happened, but the compliment felt good nonetheless.
“Thank you and that’s okay, thankfully I was the one you also bumped into and not one of those super strong demis.” Now seeing the other’s face clearly, her mind connected to her sense of familiarity and Yeji smiled widely with her tail wagging just as happily. “You’re yunablossom! Oh my uh, not-god, is it really you? I watch your stream- stream? Is that how it’s called? All the time!”
“Oh, yeah, I was-” Yuna paused, looking down at her phone with a small exasperated laugh before shoving the device into her purse. Where it belonged. “... Reading an email. Dumb, huh?” She blinked, brow furrowing just slightly. “Are there really super strong people around here? Guess I better be careful not to run into someone like that, then!” Not that she was that worried about it - someone would have to have quite the anger problem to go nuclear on her for bumping into them.
But maybe she would need to make a conscious effort to keep her eyes off of her phone while she was walking, just in case. After all, now that she thought about it, the gods were known for being rather vengeful - so she should at least worry about them, if not their children. The last thing she needed was to be cursed by a petty god or goddess.
She was surprised when the other girl suddenly recognized her, but within a moment there was a bright excited smile on her face. It was always a treat to meet a viewer IRL. “You do? Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! What’s your name?”
