Kidou and Kazemaru analysis.
One of reasons I enjoy watching Orion is how characters interact with each other, both old and new casts. But anyway I only mention about Kidou and Kazemaru because their interaction in Orion FFI is shown like one the most different than OG FFI.
Okay I know Kidou and Fudou’s relationship is also different but it can easily find out anyway.
Look, Kidou mostly talked to Kazemaru personally about his thinking and strategy, or some shit he’s gonna deal with, which we rarely saw in OG anime or it’s just because his buddy buddy Gouenji being injured and tsundere chick Fudou not tactical anymore. Obviously, these kind of things shouldn’t be told to good boy Endou. Hey I don’t mean Kazemaru is bad, he’s just more neutral.
We usually see both Kazemaru and Kidou hang out with Endou or Gouenji, but it’s rare to see them do together, even though they are core players in their team, as well as they usually appear in merchandise posters, especially the Ares ones.
Are they actually that close? I would say yes, probably, but unclearly.
Let’s do a throwback to OG anime when Kazemaru was usually a key player in Kidou’s strategy to break their rivals’s tactics, or like a game-changing.
Vs Neo Japan. Kazemaru’s Fuujin no Mai helped them break Neo Japan’s defense that made them unable to shoot.
Vs Fire Dragons. Kidou kicked the ball up to the air to surpass their Perfect Zone Press, and Kazemaru took it right before their rival could steal it, started using Route of Sky.
Vs Knights of Queen. Kidou asked Kazemaru and Kurimatsu to break their Absolute Knights.
Vs Knights of Queen. With Fudou and Sakuma’s help, they signed to each other then used Dual Typhoon to break their Muteki no Yari.
In Brazil match when Kidou asked Kazemaru to stop Roniejo, it helped nothing but anyway.
Next, it’s Dual Typhoon again.
Vs Team Garshield. Kidou used Dual Typhoon and Kazemaru called other guys to join them.
Moreover, in the final match.
Vs Little Gigant. Kidou and Kazemaru stopped their massive attack together.
Sadly Kazemaru didn’t really much in the second half match. But he tried his best when he was still playing.
And the last thing, don’t forget OVA Choujigen Dream Match, when Kidou had strategic plan with defenders to change their current game state after the first half match.
Both Kinako and Kirino seemed confused what Kidou meant. But Kazemaru didn’t need to be explained clearly because they had played together long enough to understand what they should do.
Vs Australia team actually it’s Vs Ichihoshi. Kazemaru knew what Kidou was doing. They kinda had no other choice to get rid of Ichihoshi at this time, but what Kidou acted is somehow unsportsmanlike, so he didn’t stop or fully support him either, just warned him not go too far.
Don’t mind that ugly art because I know they’re gonna fix it in Bluray …….hopefully.
Overall, they used to be good partners but not that close outside the field in OG anime. So I’m looking forward that they show more of their interaction like this. Probably we won’t see them do strategic play much together since Kazemaru is a defender now. This position doesn’t allow him play freely in mid-field, where midfielders does mind games. Besides, hissatsu tactics in Orion suck, or being more supernatural than realistic tactical style.
