[please note that the next paragraph(s) is/are my opinion. You are allowed to have your own, but that doesn't mean you can hate on mine.]
Why are people anti-dumbledore again?
"He left Harry at the Dursleys"
-
He had no other choice??? Despite the fact that many people would have taken him in (Remus, McGonagall, Dumbledore himself, etc) Harry had to be protected.
-
Did you want to let Harry get tracked down and possibly murdered if the blood protection couldn't protect him at any other house? He didn't know about the Horcruxes then, but he did know Voldemort wasn't gone.
"He let Sirius go to jail"
-
I'm sorry what??? How the hell was he supposed to know that James and Lily (and Sirius) switched secretkeepers?? He isn't the all knowing god that most of y'all portray him to be just to hate on him. He knows a lot of things but that isnt everything.
-
Besides, with Grindelwald, I think he would know how easily a friend could turn into a foe. (To add, he was the one who gave Hermione and Harry hints on how to save Sirius in poa, y'all trippin' with this one)
"He would've let Harry die"
-
You know what, I'll give you that one. That was his intention UNTIL the end of Goblet of Fire. Those who have read the books may remember a ✨gleam of victory✨ in Dumbledore's office after the return of Voldemort. In the chapter "Parting of the ways" , Page no. 585.
-
That's when he realised that Harry had a chance to live. He had to make his next few steps carefully.
-
Either way, if Harry didnt have a way of coming back to life, Do you guys really think that one person's life is more important than the whole wizarding world? Really? Don't get me wrong i absolutely adore Harry but even I would get that-
"He hired Moody who was actually Barty Crouch"
-
Bro it is a 100% clear that he did NOT know that Moody was Barty. That's how good of a death eater Barty was. I don't even know how yall got this. Again, he isn't an all knowing god.
"He ignored Harry in OOTP"
-
True, he was at fault here. He even admitted it, he even admitted that he did so to protect Harry from the burden of saving the wizarding world because he'd grown to care too much about him.
-
Sure they were things he could have done differently, and Sirius's death definitely could have been prevented but that doesn't mean it's his fault.
"He's manipulative and scheming"
-
-
Now, I'm aware that he's manipulative and scheming, but that's not always a bad thing. Like for example, what if a character that always told the truth in every situation, had to manipulate his way out of something??
-
He did what he had to do to save the wizarding world. Hell, he even sacrificed himself to do it. Like it or not, without Dumbledore's intervention Harry would have died.
Also, he's the only one who heard the prophecy. What did you guys want him to do? I'm sure before that point he took it upon himself to kill Voldemort, seeing as he's the only one he ever feared and supposedly had the most powerful wand in the world.
-
In the end, it was many people's fault that the Potters died. (Snape, Pettigrew and in a way the Potters and Sirius themselves), I really saw someone that said that 'Dumbledore definitely planned their death i just can't prove it' GOODBYE 🏃
Now, there are several things he could have done differently but he did what he could and it worked out so y'all can leave my profile rn if you disagree 🚶♀️
