18! he/him 🏳️‍🌈 I've been searching for God for the last 6 years now and it's taken me to a few different places also just VERY interested in religion academically

So a little bit about me if anyone comes across my blog. I'm an 18 year old gay guy and I got interested in religion at the age of 12 after learning about Hinduism. Since then I've been exploring religion and I've found beauty and meaning in so many. Aside from spirituality, I just love learning about religions in general (hoping to study Religion, Philosophy and Ethics next year!) and I love visiting churches and other places of worship when I can! At the time of writing I'm currently exploring the LDS church and have been interested for a few years, but have been a bit cautious for obvious reasons

So as I said yesterday I really really enjoyed the sacrament meeting and there's so much I love about the church and it's theology but I just cannot get over it's policies to the LGBT community 💔 I'm currently single but I can't rule out eventually getting into a relationship and it's honestly tearing me apart, if there's any LGBT people who have converted or just LGBT members in general who could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated ❤️🙏

So I just got back from my first sacrament meeting and honestly loved it. 10/10 will be returning

So I'm going to attend my first sacrament meeting tomorrow and my dad is giving the whole cult spiel and thinks I'm going to be brainwashed. I genuinely don't think you could engage in critical thinking more than when you're navigating religion as a queer person but oh well!

One of the things that initially attracted me to the LDS Church was the idea that every person, even after death, will get the chance to hear the gospel and that most people will end up in some degree of glory. That always seemed like the work of a loving God to me.
