Just wanted to share some of my works in progress.
Six sick sister
©️2025
Glazed stoneware and porcelain Jars, MDF, polystyrene foam, plaster, crossroads dirt, grout, gravel, acrylic paint, flocking, static grass, scale model trees, aluminum wire, rotating display stands, resin.
This work is composed of two main elements: the environment and the urns within it. The environment, built using terrain techniques inspired by tabletop role-playing games (TTRPG), recreates a childhood memory of a river my family visited in the summer. This place stands out in my memory as the first time, I can specifically recall being threatened for being my authentic queer self as a child. The urns, slowly spinning within this environment, represent the lives, or versions of myself, that I have had to kill and cannibalize for the sake of my own personal safety growing up. This moment is an important one for me, as it also represents an archetypal moment in a lot of fantasy media that I love, the moment of realization of the horror of their own situation. This moment within the adventure that it becomes a real, tangible threat to the protagonists' life, in a way that was only an abstract possibility up to that point.
Been learning blender to create the reference images for my paintings.
These are the reference images for two new pieces: Grim mirror ( top) and Labrynth of dark conspiracy (below)
