@extremesmet
…welcome to the RP Masterlist Bot. I’m a Masterlist that never gets out of date, because I update myself!
This is a Masterlist for Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra Characters. If you’d like to be added to the list, please reblog with the following information in the first three tags. You can have other tags, just make sure these three are first! Remember, I’m a bot. I am not smart.
First Tag: Your Characters Name (Put “Multimuse” here if you’re a multimuse)
Second Tag: Whether they are: “canon” “oc” “canon divergent” “crossover” or “verse”
The last two are for characters that are other canon characters. A “verse” is if you make an entirely new canon for them. A “crossover” is if they’re somehow capable of visiting the ATLA/LOK universe.
Multimuses, just put “canon” regardless of what the muses are.
Third Tag: “atla” “lok” “both” “comics” “other” Basically, you can determine what these mean–but, mostly I define it as which canon you primarily write in!
Example: #Aang #Canon #Atla
Please double check to make sure everything is spelled right and grammatically correct or the entry may be ignored!
You can find the list here.

please let me have a moment to geek out re: Legend of Korra
Specifically, bloodbending. I’m pretty sure other people have realised by now how dangerous this art is. Bloodbenders such as Tarlokk use this ability to paralyse the enemy and then manipulate, limit, and/or restrict their movements. So ‘blood bending’, in this sense, has more to do with muscle manipulation than the actual bending of the water component in the blood as they remain in the intravascular space (i.e. arteries, veins, etc), which was how first I imagined blood bending to work.
As nerdy as it sounds, I’ve been attempting to evaluate in my mind how this ability works in the cellular level. When waterbenders bend water outside of a body, they are able to guide its flow against gravity, to increase and decrease the speed of flow as necessary to deal painful blows, and to shape it in its solid and liquid form. (I don’t remember anyone “steam-bending” in the show, or in ATLA). In theory, a powerful water bender who is able to blood bend is controlling the water found in the blood plasma, which, apart from the red and white blood cells of the body, makes up a huge portion of the blood. Maybe they are able to control the other parts of the body with water in them, such as the interstitium, the spine (CSF), and the visceral structures in the body. So, considering what water benders can do with these fluid components found in the body, they could really mess up anyone who messes with them, and more than how Yakone or Tarlokk or that old lady in ATLA (I’m sorry, I really forgot her name) did in the show.
For example, if I were Yakone and I wanted to take over Republic City via bloodbending the shit out of the Gaang, I have so many other options than causing a state of rigidity in their muscles, liiike:
Stopping the flow of blood at any local area. For example, stopping the flow of blood at their feet or hands will cause hypoxia and tissue death. May even cause autoamputation. So, no hands or feet, less fighting skills and less bending!
Stopping the flow of blood systemically for a period of time would guarantee death to any normal human.
Flooding their lungs or heart with blood or water, so as to cause them congestion.
Increase the amount of CSF so that the brain will get squished by the amount of water in the cranium
Take all the water from the body and leave ‘em dry
I could think up of more cruel ways to mess someone up via bloodbending. Maybe it’s a good thing that I wasn’t one of the writers in any of the two shows :|
One last point I want to make tho, is that healing via waterbending must be a form of bloodbending, too. You don’t get better just by putting water on a wound; seems to me that these waterbenders are manipulating blood components, growth/tissue factors, etc. which speeds up the normal healing process of the body. I bet it’s even a more complicated art than the offensive form of bloodbending. D:

“I think your form is slipping,” Noatak teases as he rolls up his sleeves. It’s spring, bleeding into summer—their weakest season, but the moon is out and Yue Bay is around their ankles, so for now, the lingering heat does not trouble them.
“How far ahead am I? Two? Three?” His grin grows. “Maybe four with that stance. You’re spending too much time in that bathrobe, little brother.”
‘ get off my dick, ‘ i spit, ‘ learn to live a little. ugh! you’re giving me a stitch... ‘
biting back pathetic pouted lips, i anchor my feet in the sand and hiss at the almost literal thorn in my side. noatak’s right, as always, but he and i both know i’ll never give him the pleasure. i get more done in a day than some ratty councilman can in two moons. that’s not the standard that’s been set here, however — i’ve been living a life of decadence and noatak, as usual, lives a life of constant vigilance and ox-like athleticism. stupid.
‘ fine. okay. hit me again. ‘
Reblog this if your muse has family issues.
If you love chess, which I do, but you don’t have anybody to play against, which I don’t, then sometimes you just gotta play yourself.

@extremesmet asked: “ you choose your family, but it doesn’t change the fact that i’m still 50% him. ” // closed meme
“If you are, then so am I,” Noatak said brusquely. He always had been bad about talking about stuff like this, but if Tarrlok was involved, then he sucked it up. He put his hands on Tarrlok’s upper arms and pap-pap-papped one of his cheeks like mom used to. There was still some baby fat there. They were so young–but the things they had done were things adults would never be able to stomach doing.
Noatak hated it when Tarrlok was like this: dejected, despondent. Even after death, Yakone clung to them. Noatak hated it–hated him. And he hated that he was still hating a dead man, and he hated Yakone for making him hate him. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.
But Tarrlok–Tarrlok was the one thing in this world Noatak didn’t hate anymore. It was for Tarrlok that Noatak had come this far. It was for Tarrlok that Noatak would go even further.
“Look, I–I know it’s hard. But it’s better this way, Tarrlok. You see that, don’t you? He might be half of us, but that doesn’t mean he has to be in our lives. He’s dead now. We live however we want.” Noatak got up and brought back a paper bag. He pulled out a wrapped box of food. “Here, I got your favorite–from today’s winnings. You did good today, really helped us out.” He set the box in front of Tarrlok and gripped his hand.
“No matter who our father is,” Noatak said, “we’re one hundred percent us. And the legacy we’re going to build? That’ll be all us too. And it’ll be better and more than our father could’ve ever achieved. You know why? Because we have each other.” Noatak squeezed Tarrlok’s fingers. “It’s you and me. Always.”
𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐋 𝐎𝐅 𝐀 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐏𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐊, 𝐀 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄. It had always been difficult for Tarrlok to feel sure of anything; Yakone made it so that their lives — their futures! — were constantly uncertain. It wasn’t fair. But it was all he knew. Still, Noatak remained steadfast at the crest of hardship, so he believed quietly that it was something they both could count on for now. Tarrlok wished he could do a little more. Rather than ruminating on the dying past and mourning over its slowly decaying carcass, however, he chose to turn his attention to the warm box his brother had brought him. The comforting warmth of life. He pried it open as if there was an angry animal itching to bite him, but waiting for him instead were two placid egg rolls. He wanted to cry again.
‘ I’m still really scared, Noatak. I . . . I don’t like . . . I don’t like change. I miss Mom. I miss . . . ‘
Pause. A waggle of the head.
‘ I’m glad you’re with me. You’ve done a lot for us and I... I love you so much. I’m scared, and I don’t like getting beat up every day, but as long as you’re with me, m—maybe it will be alright? ‘
The tears came flooding once again as the boy enjoyed the crispy, savory bites of his treat. The oscillating discord of life came and went deliberately. Even now, especially now, living was a state of ambivalence. The planning passed by, took a back seat, and now it was day by day. But, looking into his brother’s eyes, squeezing Noa’s fingers in return, Tarrlok knew they could do just about anything.

The general’s poetic observation was nothing to write home about, after all. It was dressed in the flowery language the councilman was so used to spouting himself. ‘ I shan’t lie — I do enjoy listening to your thoughts. Perhaps you ought to take up writing in your spare time, hm? ‘
Tarrlok liquefied in his seat. He was more than prepared to suck up to his fellow authority figures, to mooch fruitily under the guise of formality, but there was no urge to do that here. Like a drowsy tiger he watched General Iroh, calculating and iced with his typical arrogant smirk. It was unclear to him what Iroh was trying to say. Uneasiness pooled in his entrails momentarily as he wondered — is there something he knows that I don’t? Ha! What could he know. Not more than anyone else, that was one thing for certain.
