This is kinda weird but yknow the ballad of Tam Lin? Even before I had my mind opened to how badly they need to be making out it always struck me as weirdly appropriate for Shoto and Touya, the whole breaking the curse by not letting go of your lover even once through thier various terrifying transformations, the last of which literally a burning coal in your bare hands thing

i’m not gonna lie i had no idea what that was and now that i’ve read a bit of the wiki page on it (and understand the general story) you are SO right. and now i’m emotional over it 🥹 once shoto learns the truth (that touya used to be a “mortal man”) he refuses to abandon or forget (let go) of touya… touya being “kidnapped” (taken in by afo) when he “fell” (died) and then going on to reveal this to shoto and then fight him??? I SEE THE VISION. IT MATCHES UP!!!
