We’ve known each other for a bit more than a year now and I feel like in that year, a lot has happened. A lot has changed. We had our past. Kinda. We both know how that ended, but now we’re here. We’re friends and we’re getting along just fine.

There is only one thing, however, that has not changed…and that is how I feel towards you.

I’ve been in love with you since day one. Since the first time I saw you in maths class as that ‘new student’. Since I made that clichéd joke about that song you might have heard of? Stacey’s Mum?

The flame that was burning back then is still alive to this very day. Probably brighter now more than ever. Time heals all wounds they say. Time makes the heart grow fonder as well. The more I got to know you, the more time I spent with you, the brighter this flame burns.

I fall in love with you everyday. Every time I see you, I just think of all the things that I would do just to hold your hands. Kiss your lips. Embrace you in my arms and never let go. These thoughts are what keeps me up at night. Sometimes they become too unbearable that I just want them to stop. But at the same time I don’t because only in my fantasies are we together.

You are the girl I dreamt of back when I was just a kid. You are everything I want in a partner. Beauty. Wit. Humour. Integrity. Confidence. Personality. Heart. You are the one that I’ve been searching for my whole life, long before I knew of your existence. Now that I’ve found you, I realise, looking for you was the easy part.

It pains me knowing that you are with someone who doesn’t see you the way I do. Someone like you should not have to deal with all the bullshit and troubles that he puts you through. You deserve better. You deserve more. You deserve true love and this, I can give you. I will make you my universe. My life. My passion. All I ask for in return is your loving heart.

Maybe that time will come. Maybe not. The hardest part about being in love with someone is waiting and that’s all I can do right now. Wait. Wait.
