Another quick drawing of the vampire lady I recently drew, I've decided to call her Lady Vanta and she is indeed a resident in Veil City! 🖤🖤🖤 ~Beann

Remember a video about "good things done by evil people" and it brings up Jim Jones not being racist.
And it asks "was it his religious beliefs or the socialism"? and it quickly follows up with "let's be honest it's the socialism".
It got me thinking: These Western religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam etc) are traceable to the Middle East and no part of their sacred texts mention anything about race (Which is why I talk about Rightwingers not realizing they essentially "stole a religion and whitewashed it" and even how it'd probably make more sense if they went for Norse Mythology despite the current "MCU Reddit" association).
And with Socialism, I'm not sure if there's any part of it that was "anti racism either" (Or even pro).
And not just because of people that "just didn't follow it well, it wasn't REAL Communism", given Che Guevara was racist himself and Fidel Castro was a homophobe.
Even Karl Marx might've had some complicated (Even if not as extreme or blatant) views on race and homosexuality ("But but Epic Rap Battles of History made him own Henry Ford for being a Nazi").
I might be super wrong (As usual) but there's some elements about identity politics and socialism/communism people overlook, probably because of WW2 and how Nazis were the more blatant bigots and hateful ones, so Communism was more "we're just a different econimic system" at a surface.
Obviously if Marx lived to see WW2 he'd hate the Nazis but in a way that would probably even make him rethink the views he had.
Either way, Jim Jones was still a murderer that "not being racist" barely means shit if his mass suicide still got black people involved.
Also I might be hallucinating but I SWEAR that the Jim Jones cult did songs and one actually was copied to show up as the overworld theme of either Super Mario Bros 3 or World.
Like Nintendo copied that song but Google results just show me some rapper named Jim Jones collaborating with a guy named Mario.
Maybe I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo tried memoryholing the idea of copying a song associated with one of the most deadly cults for a Mario game.
Given I already connect the dots between modern internet politics and SomethingAwful, here's one: Bloated essay videos about politics and "media literacy" that last 7 hours to exploit the YT system and PC gamers who think games with too many menus are deep and shit on arcade games.
I don't know much about Ted Turner but what I hear is that he seemed like a weird wacky rich guy who loved cartoons even if he pushed for Captain Planet. Wonder about the correlation of people that think Turner is just another shitty rich guy but also said Captain Planet was a woke show at the time.
I see friends/mutuals of mine talking about how bloated/oversaturated indie FPS games are, specially when inspired by Doom and how some are just "vanity projects for OC's".
I do have plans on making one or more with my characters, so I guess I'm guitly of meme chasing.
But I do have ideas on how to make them more unique and even thought of certain details to make them either stand out or feel good enough.
One thing I could say is I might as well make them in UZDoom given I'm already familiar with Doom mapping AND stole a lot of ideas from some mods.
(Plus the issue of indie FPS games being whether or not they're competing with the amount of free mods people make for the classic games they're referencing anyway).
I also have a lot of outside references which helps (I'll finally do a proper Metal Hurlant inspired game Concord WISHES it was and also stand out to indie devs who didn't think about that source material... unless this post will age like shit if someone reads this lol).
I also wouldn't use the term "boomer shooter" because of how meme driven it is".
I feel the appeal of classic FPS games is how they have a "sandbox" that you use, like the enemies, weapons, level items etc which contrast to the linear, less mechanically interesting FPS games since the 7th gen.
But ironic that people complained about COD ruining FPS yet we now have people thinking that indie FPS games trying to be like Doom and Quake is overdone.
I also sometimes say using your "OC's" as a base for a game is better than doing the "INSPIRED BY THAT GAME YOU LIKE" that indie devs do so often.
EDIT: Maybe another argument is how classic FPS games were made by guys that watched 80's action movies and read cool comics, which are a demographic that no longer exists, hence why some indie FPS games aren't as "cool or badass".
(And then the modern Doom games have the MCU and He-Man as references).
Thinking about when we had a Shrek spin-off based on the Puss in Boots with Spiderverse animation and a wolf villian people went "aura farming" like he was the coolest thing ever because Western animation isn't healthy enough for us to have a well animated, not-trying-to-be-Spiderverse adaptation of like Nemesis the Warlock or ABC Warriors where people would talk about how cool villains Torquemada or General Blackblood were without using memespeak.
(Yes making this post after that one about a /co/ equivalent to "SHOUNENSHIT" with 2000AD lol).
/a/ going "SHOUNENSHIT" is lame but I wonder if there's a /co/ equivalent.
Guess naturally i'd be "CAPESHIT" and instead of Berserk or Golgo 13 (aka "manime"), it'd probably be 2000AD and Heavy Metal/Metal Hurlant or even Corto Maltese.
Like that shitty image where Saitama is next to Guts, Jotaro and Kenshiro and Naruto and Ichigo are scared as shit but with Western characters.
And OPM already has a reputation of "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO PARODY SHOUNEN, NOT BE LIKE IT" because guys didn't get it was just a unique story in a genre and wasn't trying to parody it.
It'd suck if we had annoying guys going "SUPERMAN'S GAY, JUDGE DREDD IS COOLER" (Specially since some of those characters already did crossovers with these superheroes anyway).
But at the same time, I feel comics are so strict to "just Marvel and DC" that /co/ wouldn't even try that thing at all.
They're more busy talking about ugly blob cartoons that will only make it clear modern cartoons are under anime's shadow.
Once again, 4chan contrarianism doesn't push for good taste or expanding horizons and that's why /v/ still sucks up to Nintendo despite also mocking Redditors for liking the MCU.

Long overdue reference sheets for Escape and Exodus. Mostly for myself to keep the designs somewhat consistent. Escape's floral pattern keeps changing though. Exit's reference sheet.
