Fan Request Demo Update is Live
Hello everyone, hope you all had a wonderful Easter.
You guys had wonderful feedback during the Next Fest craze, so much so that I felt compelled to extend support for the demo, as many of you already know.
So here are the latest additions:
Item pickup notifications just like in classic shooters. I'm pretty mad I didn't think of implementing this much earlier but hey, better late than never. It will be on by default.
You can keybind healing drinks and energy drinks. This should limit frantically browsing menus (at least for M&K players) and should encourage using the energy drinks for the spell casters. I also made the item notifications feature notify you of the remaining ones when consumed.
Added a guiding shadow to aid platforming. I ended up liking it a lot myself so it is on by default.
Added the option for hitmarkers. Some players and even fellow devs wanted them and it didn't seem too much of a hassle so I obliged. Off by default.
You can now tweak the color saturation for the visor. Yes, now the game can be full-on black and white if your heart so desires.
Added a new tutorial message to tell you that certain weapons have bullet spreads.
A certain NPC queue_free() was too easy to spot by speedy players so I added a teleport animation.
Spiced up the rail gun equipped animation.
Made the Player character hands way less awkward on Gerp.
Naturally spotted a few issues and corrected them:
Some text spacing has been adjusted to reflect the new font.
Some hint messages have been made more direct.
Changed the scroll bar in some menus to be easier to notice.
Removed inside jokes that only made sense to 5 people.
Mushroom Knights HP has been reduced from 400 to 375.
Fixed some animation errors on the Auto-Shotgun.
Reduced the spread of the Machine Gun to make it more viable at longer range (still outclassed by the rail gun, Gerp, and the burst rifle).
And that's that, after this is the final update for the demo. A more personal one on my end admittedly, but I'm sure the more dedicated players will get a kick out of it.
Thank you for everything, I'll catch you all later this April.
