Ares isn't just violence.
To me, Ares is energy. He's courage and He's determination. He motivates us to push through when we feel like we can't. He is the voice in our head which tells us to keep going. He's strength and He's perseverance, He's warmth and support.
When you fight for what's right, He's standing right there beside you. He pushes us to be the best, to achieve greatness, but He won't let us break. He's the older brother who watches you struggle so you learn and get stronger, but He still loves you and wants the best for you.
He's kind and He's gentle and there's so much to Him that I could never put in words. So don't write Him off because's He's the God of War.
I just love Him. so so so so so much. And I wanted to share that because I think He's pretty neat<3
Yeah okay we’re "just friends" but I’d kiss you if you asked.
some SUPER ROMANTIC cards to send to your significant other 💋💋💖😍🥰 merry valentines day 💓💓💘
Summer of ‘13
Ship: mangosauce (mangetsu hozuki/sasuke uchiha) | and in other chapters: implied shiita (shisui uchiha/itachi uchiha) | itachi uchiha/izumi uchiha Setting: Late Edwardian era to WWI Notes: Just a little snippet about this whole thing I’ve been working on. Definitely needs editing, but I just wanted to get this bit out, unedited, lol. Based on an RP. Many thanks to Lin @crescentxsun
Keeping the windows open did nothing to pare down the heat; it was just as muggy indoors as it was outdoors. It’s not like the fog rolled into the house and brought the humidity with it, but the clothes strewn about the room and the crumpled sheets and the candlestick having rolled off and precariously perched on the edge of the night stand probably has something to do with it.
There are footsteps coming down the hallway, and Mangetsu reads the warning on Sasuke’s face. Yes, he’s heard it too. But Mangetsu isn’t hurrying up and trying to get out of bed and get back into his pants—oh, no. No. The sound of footsteps making their way closer to Sasuke’s room only pulls a smirk out of him.
A few extra headcanon that needed to be added to the list
Shisui and Obito may have met in passing, but Shisui never really got much of a chance to interact with him. They just never ran in the same circles. There is no enmity or hate or any shred of bullying streak on Shisui’s side, he just… doesn’t have much of an opinion about Obito– only that he fought bravely and that it was truly a tragedy for the guy to end up dying the way he did. He doesn’t begrudge him gifting Kakashi his eye, either; for that, Shisui is glad that Obito managed to make a friend. Since, well, it appears as though the guy was lonely within the district. But they weren’t, and wouldn’t have been, on the same wavelength, so would not have been more than acquaintances.
Shisui isn’t Itachi and Sasuke’s first cousin. Nor is he their second cousin. He wouldn’t refer to them as such, but simply as clansmen. He knows they are related in some way, obviously, but they’re not close enough to be referring to each other as cousins. In canon, he doesn’t really meet Itachi until Itachi is 5 years old– which would indicate that they aren’t close relations at all. You would expect someone more closely related to know you before you hit five, really, especially if you lived in the same corner of the village.
Shisui has never met Kagami in person, but only heard of him through his parents and the rest of the clan. He has always looked up to the man and has tried to emulate him, especially after the incident where he awakened his Mangekyo. If ever he’d find himself in a dark place, something that would always help him come out of it is asking himself ‘What would Uchiha Kagami do?’ This is especially true when Uchiha-Konoha relations were visibly crumbling by the day and talk of a coup was imminent. Kagami was the only Uchiha able to gain the trust of Konoha’s highest authority at the time, but be able to represent both clan and village at the same time, and proudly, without having to pick sides. That sort of middle ground, publicly displayed as proof to the people of both clan and village, is what Shisui had always wanted.
Shisui takes up working on a speed-related jutsu (his version of the shunshin) after hearing about how Kagami was trying to do the same, in honor of Tobirama’s hiraishin.
Shisui is descended from the line of Uchiha that created Izanami as a means to prevent abuse of power with Izanagi.
Shisui copes with grief and self-admonishment by committing himself to helping others. Finding his purpose – any purpose – is enough to keep him going. As long as he has somewhere to be, somewhere to reach, he will pick himself up and work towards it.

(( hey everyone. sorry for the sudden hiatus. things have been really really bad where i live lately-- long power cuts, no fuel, no food, no medicines, crazy inflation, literally a shitshow. got covid, too, lmao. nothing much has changed (except i’m covid-free now) but my most busiest time of the year is finally slowing down so i can return to rp soon, within the week.
thinking of formally introducing my OC’s. also anyone who wants to plot stuff or have me respond to memes, lmk, i will gladly do so. atm i am more open to ‘verses outside of the regular naruto-verse.
my discord is suskyshusbento#9054 ))
You Look Good Wearing What?
Shisui can totally pull off a duck costume and Mangetsu doesn’t own any of 1 or 3. Yet.
YOU LOOK GOOD WEARING WHAT?

What are the villain origin stories you can see?
[[ Hi, I'm sorry, I don't really understand the question...? ]]
Writing about a child rapist did not make Vladimir Nabokov a child rapist.
Writing about an authoritarian theocracy did not make Margaret Atwood an authoritarian theocrat.
Writing about adultery did not make Leo Tolstoy an adulterer.
Writing about a ghost did not make Toni Morrison a ghost.
Writing about a murderer did not make Fyodor Dostoevsky a murderer.
Writing about a teenage addict did not make Isabel Allende a teenage addict.
Writing about dragons and ice zombies did not make George R.R. Martin either of those things.
Writing about rich heiresses, socially awkward bachelors, and cougar widows did not make Jane Austen any of those things.
Writing about people who can control earthquakes did not make N.K. Jemisin able to control earthquakes.
Writing about your favorite characters and/or ships in situations that you choose does not make you a bad person.
It’s a shame that in this day and age these things need to be said.
Or, in short: the narrator =/ the author.
You know what else is a shame? This nowadays tendency of putting on the author the responsibility of teaching their readers morality.
Authors are allowed to write morally ambiguous characters.
Authors are allowed to write downright despicable characters - and guess what they are even allowed to make despicable characters charismatic and likeble and the protagonists of their stories if they wish - because absolute monsters exist only under the bed.
It is not up to the author to spoonfeed the readers about morality and Yes I know this character did a bad thing and I am going going to show it in the story and make other characters call them out of it and– Bullshit.
The authors should be able to write what they want without having thousands of people jumping and their throats claiming to know them, their ideas and their morality based on what they write.
It’s not up to the author to teach you about what is right and what is wrong.
It’s not up to the author to teach you about what is right and what is wrong.
❛ your cooking is so delicious. ❜
for mangetsu :)
He looks a tad surprised at that. "Yeah? Family recipe. Compliments to my mother I guess." Good thing she'd taught him how to cook at all (more like made him learn how to); he wouldn't have been able to take care of his brother on his own without that skill once both parents passed on.
And then he glances at the pot. Can't help the laughter that follows. "Oi, leave some for Suigetsu." Still, he's ladling more of that stew into Kisame's plate.
But this isn't why he'd asked Kisame to come over in the first place, and Mangetsu eyes him from across the table before returning the ladle into the pot.
"We lost another one." He's talking about Nuibari. And while everyone within whatever's left of the Seven is suspecting the other of doing it, Mangetsu knows Kisame isn't good for this. He's 1000% sure Kisame isn't the one that gave whoever it was access to Nuibari. Kisame had too much respect for the legendary swords to do something like that.
But the expression on Mangetsu's face, though stoic as always, might give away some hint that he just might know who's behind all this. It's there, teetering on the edge of things, evident in the tension in his muscles and his posture. It's there but he knows he can't say it out loud. There's no way he can be blunt about it, and he's hoping Kisame can read him enough to be able to tell that something's wrong.
Mangetsu also never really confided in anything with anyone. That's normal in Kiri, he supposes, especially with the current political situation. He's never called anyone over, never considered anyone a friend or confidante, never stuck with one partner for more than two missions if he could help it-- he had Suigetsu and he trusted that kid with his life. Just... Suigetsu still has a long way to go.
And he's only eighteen, but there's something in his expression that might tell Kisame he thinks his days are numbered.
