It's interesting to think about Sakura, because

We DID get a female character who:

-is skilled and clever (was better at chakra control and genjutsu than the boys from the start, and didn't even cheat at the Chunnin cheating exam)

-is (VERY) physically stronger than most of the male characters

-has a strong healing power (which is actually a VERY useeful skill)

BUT

Because of how OP the other characters got, she got called "useless"
