                   Turning away from Naruto, he hid his emotions. Just the slightest, gentlest tug of the corner of his lips into a grin. Hearing him even ask that made his heart giddy - Boruto settled his hand on the pommel of his sword, weight shifting on his right side. The grin faded, replaced by a dramatic sigh as he dismissively waved his hand.  ❝ Is this coming from the same guy who claims to become Hokage one day? Geez, I didn't take you for such a scaredy-cat, 'ttebasa. ❞  The teen knew his old man too well. There was no way he would lose to people like this. His father. . .is still the strongest shinobi. It had made the young man's old demeanor surface - a habit. Whenever he was around Naruto, it was as if he were a clone. Boruto is his son, of course. He knew what ticked his old man off, what he liked, and disliked. All of that. This was nothing new.

it's snowing in Konoha again this year. the weather seemed to linger warm until winter had finally shaken off the dirt and dust and left them blanketed until the spring blossoms were ready to come through.

it's that time of the year again, one where he sits and thinks and shares a drink with no one in particular - though there's a spot beside him if one would want to join him.

            It seemed a while since Boruto had been back home. . .well as close to it as he could.  This era was different. The perks of being an Otsutsuki one would guess, but also a dire curse. The young lord who once had it all and lost everything. A fate switched due to omnipotence; memories erased, wiped completely. His Uncle, no, his master taken from him by the Shinju god tree. . . 

           One lone blue iris settled on the back of an older man - the one with the long black, spiked hair.  The chakra presence he emitted reminded the boy of his Master. With a saddened heart and a stoic face, Boruto had sat beside the elder.  The boy did well turning off his chakra to hide his presence. It was an Otsutsuki thing. 

  Uchiha Madara. Also known previously as Kaguya's vessel. You always seem to attract Uchiha, boy.  It seems as if it's his birthday. Hahaha, pitiful fool with no one. 

    The voice of Momoshiki drifted into his mind making him scowl. He wasn't old enough to drink but he was good company, or he used to be. With a genuine, small grin he spoke. ❝ Heh. Sitting out here by yourself on your birthday? ❞

                                          It's the ache in his heart, the relief washing over his being, at being told someone remembered him. Who better to tell the Young Lord that than his Uncle? The inner child within wanted to shed tears of joy but they just would not come.        The only ones who were not affected by omnipotence right now were: Kawaki, Sarada, and Neji. Not surprising considering the Hyuga has close ties with the Otsutsuki just as his father and master were reincarnations of them. Yes, he knew all.  One lone blue-colored eye looked at Neji but his whiskered face didn't pull up into a grin. What had happened? Too much to tell right now. ❛ Uncle. . , ❜ the little boy inside wept while on the outside, the young man was stoic. A trait he picked up from his Master. ❛ . . .how did you find me? ❜ a ridiculous question to ask someone with the byakugan that it was laughable.
