The nostalgic feeling of Autumn

It’s a slow peaceful morning, you can feel a sweet cool breeze through the window, you step outside and feel a warm soft hug from the sun. That’s how Autumn mornings are, neither hot or cold, just perfectly inbetween. You hear birds singing outside, the atmostphere feels just right and it’s gonna be a good day. 

Autumn mornings transports me back into 2009 waking up on a Saturday morning. No iPhones or iPads, just a cable TV and the outside world. Disconnected from social media, but connected to everything. I wake up seeing my grandparents in the living room, my mum is cooking up a delicious breakfast and my brothers are playing games together. As I wait for the morning routine to finish I anticipate going outside, playing in the trees, riding my bike or playing with mud. Everything was in the moment, no distractions, no screens - just excitment, creative imagination and my family. 

While I think most can relate to Autumn feeling very nostalgic, I feel specifcally nostalgic of the early 2000’s where we didn’t use social media as much and techonology was limited. If you grew up in that time, I believe you can relate to me aswell. Nowadays Autmun mornings are perfect for a cosy book reading inside with my three cats. As Autumn is now upon us in the Southern hemisphere, I will be  reminiscent of those days and try to live my life “disconnected” as much as possible.
