BIO ♠ born and raised in aurora bay by a single mother, whom he loved dearly ♠ his family has always lived in and around the ocean crest apartments and nearing neighborhoods; his mum worked a lot to make ends meet. Ezra's never been to the 'rich' part of town for leisure, only for work reasons like catering when he was a teenager. Needless to say, he doesn't have many friends in high places... ♠ That isn't to say Ezra holds any sort of grudge against anyone from the wealthy part of town, he just doesn't think he jives with them and that he and them are from entirely different worlds ♠ for one of Ezra's childhood birthdays, his mother saved up to take him to a "nice" restaurant, and he was enamored by the experience. in particular, how happy his mum seemed to be. It was the whole night of dressing up and escaping reality momentarily that inspired him to be a chef.

♠ One of Ezra's dreams is to open his own restaurant. He left Aurora Bay for a few years to attend culinary school and has since returned. He managed to snag a job as a sous chef at Neptune, where he's trying to hone his skills.

♠ Ezra can be a little bit of a snob when it comes to fine dining and food. He doesn't think people appreciate it for the art that it is, and only pays money to dine at restaurants as a symbol of their wealth. TRAITS

"Wait—no—put me down!" Robin yelped as Ezra scooped her up into his arms, the seconds stretching into hours as she tried to anticipate his next move, before bursting into a fit of laughter. She made a valiant yet futile attempt to wriggle and squirm out of his hold, ceasing her attempts to free herself only when he slam dunked her onto the soft cushions of the sofa.

Before she can roll away or scramble for purchase on the sofa, he has her hands pinned above her head by her wrists. "Get off me Hulk Hogan!" Robin groaned between cackles, struggling to free herself from his grip. For somebody who had the physique of a cheese string he was surprisingly strong.

"You've got until the count of three before I reach for my taser." Robin warned, raising her brow in a challenge.

Ezra shook clasped hands at around a pretend stadium of fake onlookers, cheering for himself and his victory. "Hulk Hogan is a wrestling legend, so I'll take that as a compliment," he laughed, a rare moment of actual happiness knowing he was able to bring about some laughs for an old friend. "Yea, as if you would actually tase me,". Ezra finally stood up straight and offered a hand to pull Robin up too. "Alright, now that I've clearly established that I am the stronger, better one - we should actually finish helping you move. As much as I'm dreading moving a thousand boxes ... if it's important to you, we'll make it happen. You sure this is what you want?".

Ezra wouldn't normally be out and about or socializing but he had used one too many excuses with his co-workers that it didn't work anymore. Tonight, he couldn't escape. They dragged him to the local lounge for what they claimed would be "just one drink" before they let him go. He reluctantly dragged his feet and was already conjuring excuses to leave early when he heard it. That familiar voice but singing this time that made Ezra whip his head towards the singer on the stage. Of course - how could he have forgotten? Lia worked here. "See, told you it was worth coming here," the restaurant's nudged Ezra in the arm a few times with his elbow. Ezra shook his head at him. "Keep dreaming, kid. I don't think she would be interested in you,".

It was late. Quiet. Ezra would normally not be out and about at this hour but he was charged with closing and cleaning for the night. The exhaustion made him feel ever so grateful when he finally caught sight of his apartment building, just a few more minutes away from being home and in bed. Or at least, he thought it would be. It had been months since they had last spoken, yet there was no denying that the silhouette of her because Ezra was so familiar with it. "......Gracie," he hushed when he finally came within range of the front doors. "What are you doing out here? It's almost 2 in the morning,".

I thought I was making the right decision in supporting them but I really, really regret it now. I guess if you're asking this as a way of asking for advice, always go with what you believe. Even if it might hurt someone's feelings in the moment, it'll be brief. Rather than a much longer hurt for yourself,".

Lia couldn’t help it, a small part of her felt like she might have messed something up a little more when he seemed to have tried to brush it off. She didn’t want to see it that way, but she couldn’t help the pit forming in the bottom of her stomach. Perhaps she had been too forward with everything. “You don’t huh?” She let a soft smile form on her face when he said it, shaking her head as she looked at him. “Hey, you think you messed up? What about me. My first thought was barking an order at you instead of just asking who you are… I do like to think we’re trying to get off on a better foot now, but… If I’m being too wild…” She sighed, letting her gaze drop away. “I mean… sometimes I can be too much, a lot of people have no trouble telling me.”

He could tell quite distinctly when Lia's expression changed and it brought a slight frown to Ezra's face. "I don't .. care about that," he explained. "I mean, I do in the sense that I met you, but the rest of it is already the past. You're obviously much more than that, and same with me,". Ezra ran a hand through his hair, unsure how to explain himself in a way that wouldn't be mistaken. "It's not too much, and you're not too much. Like I said, I'm not here to make you some sort of rebound, and I'm definitely not wanting to fuck it up,". He leaned in and pressed a kiss to her lips. "..So is that okay? Or...if you want to leave me here and forget the pasta guy, I totally understand,".

Lia giggled beneath his hand, allowing him the moment to cover her mouth, but she wasn't going to let him get away with it for too long. A grin had formed so quick under his hand, taking a moment to kiss the palm of his hand. Pulling her face away from his hand she turned to look at the tank, a devilish grin still on her face. “So, what I'm heating is that you like a certain… Name… Title… Huh? Behave myself? Only when I need to… and I get a very distinct feeling you're gonna enjoy when I don't behave.” She said, glancing over at him, that same devilish grin on her face as she did, almost hoping they would have to go back home just to learn how bad she could misbehave.

He felt her kiss the center of his palm and Ezra withdrew his hand. He could also feel his face heat up the more she spoke, and it didn't go past him the way she was smiling meant there was something in her mind. It wasn't like Ezra to get worked up this way but seeing as this was a first date, he couldn't help but feel a little sheepish about it all. "I have no idea what you mean," he grinned, not giving anything away. Instead, he pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Look, Lia - I'm sure you're many, many peoples' dream girl and you definitely have an effect on me. I just ... don't want to do it wrong, not after I feel like I royally messed up the last one. And especially not this when you... are just the wild card I never saw coming,".

Her dark eyebrows knit together as the man confronts her. A part of her wants to be offended by his assumption that she's a lost tourist, but she chooses to bite her tongue and roll her eyes instead. She attempts to tune him out offering nothing but a shrug to the male until she hears him spew nonsense.

Lowering her glasses, she gazes up at the man from her spot on the ground, her mouth forming a frown, while a perfectly shaped eyebrow arches. "Last time I checked, there's a federal law that states employees cannot drink on the job," she points out, her eyes scanning the six-pack in his hand. Sipping from her own drink, she proceeds, "I've lived here for twenty-seven years and I've never seen a lighthouse employee show up to work with a towel and a six-pack." She states "Nice try, but that's not going to work on me."

Ezra groaned internally. Alright, so she wasn't as easy to get rid of as he thought. "You're not wrong, but I didn't say I was an employee," he shrugged to shirk any accountability in his words. "You've lived in Aurora Bay for twenty seven years and you choose now to take my private spot? That's cold,". He sighed deeply knowing full well there wasn't much he could do to drive her away. "Look, I've had a long fucking week and this is just the rotten cherry on top to find out my personal getaway spot is not so secret. If you're gonna stick around, why don't you stay in this half of the space, and I'll be over there. And we can pretend the other person doesn't exist. Deal?".

If Lia was honest this was probably one of the first first dates in her life that really was beginning to mean something, so Lia was trying to make the most of it. A grin was forming on Lia’s face, there was some real danger in the words she whispered and she was enjoying the power it gave her. “Oh I know the reaction, I wanted to see it again.” She smirked, her attention turning back to the tank, pushing herself up on her tiptoes to see a little further into the tank before moving back to sit beside Ezra. She sat back, leaning in to whisper into Ezra’s ear. “You know, if you like the word Sir I should have used it a long time ago... Maybe I'll start calling you Sir Pasta.”

Ezra raised a brow as he watched Lia move, knowing full well at this point she was the type to pull something. And of course, she did, as she leaned in to whisper in his ear. It drove a shiver down his spine. He was quick to reach up and cover her lips with his hand, a laugh spilling from him. "Hey!" he said, looking around to see if anyone (children, in particular) might have heard her. "I'm not going to be the guy who explains to some parent why their kid heard you call me that. And for the record, even if I can get on board, the Pasta part is a bit of a mood kill. I take it you're not the type to behave yourself, are you?".

Lia really did appreciate the fact that she got this time with Ezra. It was so nice to be able to have this day with him, she didn’t want to call things too soon, but this felt like something that was going to be a long and very fun… She didn’t know how to word it. She smiled so warmly as she watched him, taking a moment to appreciate watching him enjoying himself. She stepped up closer to him, allowing herself to be moved exactly where he wanted her to go. She felt such a warm shiver run through her body as he ran his hands over her arms. A grin formed on her face as she slipped out a quiet, “Yes sir, whatever you like.” She stared into the tank, a smile on her face as she just appreciated the peace and quiet of watching the fish swim by. “Oh, the company makes it a million times better.”

Ezra hadn't been on a 'first date' in a long time (if he could call this that). He wasn't sure how much was too much, how little was too little, and everything in between. So he just took moments whenever he could to inch a little closer and test the waters. It wasn't until Lia uttered those words that he half sputtered and half laughed. "Don't," he teased. "You can't be saying something like that at a family friendly place. Are you forgetting the reaction we had in the bubble? This is hardly fair,". Sometimes Ezra didn't trust even himself, so he finally took a few steps back and sat down in one of the seats facing Lia and the tank. "As a precaution, because you ... you're trouble,".

She fell silent after the waiter tried to silence them from causing a commotion. Gracie didn't care about the looks their way, as she stood there and feeling her own shoulders slump in defeat. She did make these choices and now she had to live with them. Gracie flashed an empty smile and nodded, "You're right, sorry doesn't mean a thing anymore." Although the words wanted to slip out of her mouth again, Gracie smoothed down the skirt of her dress and shakes her head. "Excuse me." She turned away from him and walked back towards her table where her date sat, looking at her as if he heard the conversation which he probably did as he uttered out.

"You dated the cook? Do you know how embarrassing this is for me?"

Gracie felt utterly exhausted, having no fight left in her as she flashed another empty smile and laughed. "Yes I dated the cook and you can shove your embarrassment up your ass." She reached for her purse and took a quick bite out of her food before storming towards the door, ignoring the looks that was given passing by.

Ezra felt a jolt in his spine, a reaction that told him to go, grab her, something. Maybe it was an artifact of them, the way he never wanted to let go. But his body didn't move. His gaze fell to the ground again as she walked away, back to her table. It wasn't difficult to overhear her (stupid) date being incredibly rude, just as Ezra had predicted and knew about the snobs that came into the restaurant to flaunt their wealth. A bitter voice in his mind told him not to defend Gracie. Her date was also a choice she made. He couldn't afford to watch her leave for what felt like the fifth time. Ezra was so tired of seeing Gracie walk away, so he turned on his heel to head back into the kitchen. There, the head chef greeted him with a disappointed and stern look. A lecture came almost immediately, about how Ezra had left the kitchen a mess some weeks ago trying to make pasta when he was supposed to be closing and cleaning up. How he had let people into the restaurant after hours, and now causing a ruckus that disturbed the patrons during peak service hours. Pissing off a VIP was the cherry on top. Ezra just stood there and took the scolding, only half listening because everything felt so heavy and unbearable. Envious? Not worthy? Those words kept replaying in his mind until the head chef called his name one more time. "You are not to touch a single knife, cook any food or plate any dishes until I say so. And until I say so, you're on dish duty and mopping duty,". Ezra just gave a curt nod, no energy to retaliate as he tugged the buttons of his chef jacket loose, taking it off to begin his punishment.
