OP: "Decarbonized formaldehyde is great. Just wash daikons with decarbonized formaldehyde and they turn white."
"Decarbonized formaldehyde" (è«çąłçČé) is an online phrase used to make fun of people that blindly avoid chemicals. Formaldehyde (H2CO) decarbonized is water (H2O).

Why fid Danny Gonzalezâs Marmaduke video piss you off just curious? Like how can you tell he didnât google it?
his video was about some netflix marmaduke movie and he spent the whole video in his performatively baffled way saying stuff like "who wants this?" "what is going on?" "am I just supposed to know who these characters are??" and just generally revealing he had never heard of the 60 year long comic of the same name. and had he googled marmaduke at all, he would have found all of the answers to his questions in "it's a newspaper comic that has been running forever." like I can understand having those questions during the movie react part, but he had no follow-up commentary in the video at all. his videos are already pretty unfunny to me so him not putting in minimal effort to talk about the subject of his video was beyond frustrating to me
Are we all having a jiggly bouncing Saturday?
we had an 80%WR yesterday theyre fucking PMO TODAY!!!

The idea that I'm gonna go start spending the big bucks on comic books because they took down readcomiconline is like assuming that revoking my driver's license would convince me to finally purchase a helicopter.
dude if i was an uma and opera o butted in and did her whole shtick for a race i was gonna race in i'd be so fucking pissed. i'd rally the other umas racing to gang up and throw her into a well or something
i would get dqed before the race even started cause as soon as she started talking about "hark fellow umas! our jubilation" i'd have 100% already kicked her full force in her Opera O Jewels
if she does a speech before another fucking race then me and the other umas are breaking into her bedroom and holding her down and giving her a shitty haircut
Good Lord, the Iranians massacred some Yankee soldiers in Jordan
like, I myself have also never lived on the rez so I can really only speak to the experiences Iâve had shared with me by friends and familyâand frankly, there are some things my loved ones just straight up wonât even talk about because it was just that fucking bad. but with the way some folks on this site (in particular, as Iâve mentioned before, white Europeans who seem to have convinced themselves that just because theyâre not American means theyâre absolved of all the evils of white supremacy and imperialism) talk about Native people living in the imperial core it feels really clear to me that a lot of these people have never even, like, attempted to so much as imagine just how fucking bad the conditions on most reservations are. theyâre certainly not doing any research into it. just, like, speaking loudly and confidently about how privileged we are to live in the US without a shred of consideration for the fact that these places were intentionally constructed to have the worst living conditions possible. and like thatâs not to say that you canât have any semblance of a good life there, Iâve also heard so many stories of joy and love and community on the rez and I donât want to take away from that. but those things are hard fought for through the fucking incredible power and resilience of what it is to be a native person surviving genocide, they happen IN SPITE of all the odds stacked against us. I promise that you as a white person in fucking France or whatever are not worse off than generations of people forced into reservations, with extremely limited access to food and clean water and healthcare. for real.
and of course the justification is always âoh well thatâs such a small percentage of the US population thoughâ as if thatâs not literally the same logic used by the government to allow these people to continue to suffer, and as though population percentage is supposed to make me just stop caring about my relatives. like that just doesnât make you look better. and if youâre from a colonizing European country it was your fucking ancestors that created the conditions that led to people suffering today. shut the fuck up!
nishino flower not allowed to have her outfit because her team is evil???

Have you ever watched a movie or show with the commentary track on?
Yes, but once or very few times
Yes, quite a few times
No, I have never done this
A commentary track is a recording of one or several people, usually writers or directors or producers, that is played over the original footage. Usually they will talk about some aspect of the production/creation of the footage as it appears on-screen, but sometimes they go off on tangents about personal anecdotes.
It's almost like school is the ONLY place most people will ever encounter an analog clock in this day and age. They don't get any practice in outside of school and for good reason. Analog clocks are so last century. They are pretty, but they are going the way of the sundial. I reckon most kids these days also can't use a fountain pen or a slide rule. They don't even make kids wash their slates or clap out their chalk dust from the chalkboard erasers.
Learning how to read an analog clock usually involves learning the skill of skip counting (i.e. counting by 5s, 10s, 15s, etc.). Skip counting is typically viewed as a precursor to learning multiplication and the reason why young students are usually taught to interpret the face of a clock before learning multiplication itself. It also helps children learn how to count faster by grouping. Reading a clock is also the earliest (and only) introduction most children ever get to counting in a system other than base 10, which is extremely helpful later when learning about angles/geometry and other subjects where the sexagesimal system is standard like geography and astronomy.
I get what you are saying about not getting too attached to outdated technologies and systems, but an early introduction to the sexagesimal system is one of Chestertonâs âfences across the roadâ we should absolutely leave up, lest we create a whole new set of problems.
like it just doesnt make any economic sense. replacing human labor with ai only makes sense if the output is as good or better and cheap as free. but just the fact that you have to build the massive data centers at all-- especially that gpus go bad in just a few years, but even if they didn't, the facility itself is going to be a big expense-- means it cant be cheap as free. they were banking on an uber type situation where they could crank up the prices once people switched to their business model, but the trade is literally "this will be cheaper than using human labor" so if it's not cheaper than human labor then people will just hire people again. and it's not even as good or reliable as a person. so while ai is "here to stay" in the sense that the technology exists and will find its niches, probably people are going to be sexting with them forever just maybe on local models, the current business model cannot survive and never possibly could.
it's all desperation. i do really believe ed zitron's rot economy idea, that the tech sector has been searching for a new internet or iphone or whatever that blows up and changes the world and they get to keep the profits so they'll uplift any garbage (hence nfts and the metaverse) to try and astroturf that. and relatedly, i think nvidia and the cloud compute companies and the ai companies are just passing the same dollar back and forth to create big numbers that paper over how bad the economy really is. it's all an attempt to keep the infinite growth hack going.
like i actually think all of the problems with ai are problems that already existed that are just getting a huge spotlight on them because of the massive reckless expansion and apocalyptic marketing. like people are cheating on essay assignments? no shit, they used to use fiver and other cheating services. higher ups are devaluing and trying to get rid of creatives? yeah, we've been talking about how vfx artists need to unionize for over a decade, especially people working on marvel movies. people with mental health problems are turning to the internet instead of getting support or medical assistance and end up hurting themselves as a result? yup, especially when it comes to like eating disorders, there are some really awful places that will validate you into the grave. data centers use a lot of energy and water? yeah, they also did that before they were used for ai, they do that for youtube and twitch, and tech in general is a massive source of pollution. politicians arent listening to their constituents' needs and demands, instead handing money and special privileges to corporations that wont keep up their end of the bargain? yeah, i remember the public transit proposals cancelled to hand money instead to elon and his terrible tunnels. like it all already existed, they're just doing it so much so quickly that people can actually see it in front of them
