why do you think ray devolved as a character as the series went on?
Ooh thatâs a good question. Personally, I think that in the first seasons, Henry was typically the more childish one of the two, and Ray was the more responsible, mature adult. But in the later seasons, as Henry got older, he became more responsible and mature. And in response to this, Ray started acting more childish and often a lot less mature. I donât think Ray ever fully grew up from that little kid who was accidentally densitized, so when Henry started acting more like an adult, Ray started allowing Henry to fill that adult role while also allowing himself to act more like a kid.
Plus, I think as the series went on, Rayâs moral compass sort of slid into gray sometimes. Maybe it was him acting more like a kid, I donât know, but he definitely said and did some things in the later seasons that arenât very âgood guyâ.
That was a long answer, sorry, but I hope I answered your question.
