Very important poll info!
During a break from voting tonight I decided to go behind enemy lines and see how they operate. I found more than enough and I'm hoping this.will.bost morale. This is a post from their polls forum and the post was submitted by the lady who paid the $200. I'm not on tumblr so I'm hoping this will make its way to.those who organize the power hours. I really hope you see this and that it boosts our fandoms morale!
"Hi everybody, Hanging my head in sorrow here because I'm the one who opened my pocketbook to pay for that friggin' captcha that has made the Femslash poll pure misery. And to be losing to those two straight girls who had cat fights over the same guy and their snot-faced fans who accused me of bribing the Admin and are trash-talking me on Twitter...it has me enraged. HOWEVER, I think they're beating us fair and square this time. The Admin is fed up with these cry babies and I am POSITIVE she didn't stake them a bunch of votes to even out the playing field. The redo vote was meant to do that and was voted down (by us). In the process, I think I/we may have unwittingly lit a fire under the Gleeks. They already had voting "power hours" organized and earlier today apparently recruited a bunch more Gleeks to wipe out our 6000+ vote lead in just a few hours. They have been slowly but steadily building a lead of 3000-4000 votes since then (with no sign of letting up as of 10pm). We have our own swat team of about 35 Doccubi now but they were recruited for a three-hour blitz vote from 9pm to midnight next Thesday Mar 11th (when the Femslash poll ends). They didn't sign on for nor have they been prepared for the impromptu emergency strikes I've called for twice today already. The second call was answered by maybe 10 people (we do have lives, jobs, other responsibilities!) -- too few to stem the tide. Here's what I propose:
1) See how we do overnight - the Night Shift has been phenomenal. If they manage to re-establish a sizeable lead, then I think it's worth fighting on.
2) If we're still behind by morning (8am EST), I'm afraid we're cooked, and don't see the point in further ruining our eyes with the damned captchas which I am convinced they hired Nohn Travolta to write. Heh heh. Little levity there.
3) I propose we then graciously withdraw or at least stop making big public pushes to vote. We might even say conciliatory things in the comments section to the poll, compliment them for their organization, etc. i'm only suggesting that because we do NOT need these vindictive little twerps dogging us through every round if Zimbio.Â
4) We could still do our 11th hour stealth attack on Tuesday (Femslash poll) just for pride and who knows...we might catch 'em napping if they aren't gazillion votes ahead by then. But frankly, if we're behind tomorrow morning, I'd been content to withdraw graciously and turn our attention to Zimbio. And I never want to see another captcha again as long as I live."
She also makes a comment later that in the captchas you don't have to get the illegible word correct for it to go through. Please spread this to those 2ho can help! I'll try to!send it!to a few more ppl.
